The app is hard to understand and you can’t create an account without a Japanese phone number. We ended up having to pay 5x because we needed to pay for a physical day pass you can only get in limited locations. The bikes themselves were fun to ride. ### 1/5 — Can't receive SMS confirmation to US phone number *2026-03-24* App says it accepts foreign phone numbers that can receive SMS, however US phone numbers will not work. Many other reviews and posts online confirm the same. ### 1/5 — It does not work for US phones *2025-11-24* It does not send the SMS authentication therefore you won’t be able to use a bike. ### 4/5 — Works, I rode around Kyoto *2025-11-11, version 1.21.1* Some steps to get the app installed but worked fine. Had to guess my region. Make sure to use the manual lock before returning via the app. ### 1/5 — これから利用される方は下記点にご注意ください。 *2025-10-11* 自分がベイバイクさんの自転車を借りるときは、決まって深夜2〜3時です。 雨などで自分の自転車で出勤できなかったときのみ利用するので、頻度は月1〜2回ですが、タクシーを使わずして帰宅ができるこのシステムに大変助かっておりました。 ただ、ここのところ雨が少なかったのもあり、8〜9月は利用していない状況でした。 そんな巡り合わせもあってか、夏の間に、家から一番近所の返却ポートの、返却可能台数が変更されていました。 今まで返却数に限りがなかったところが、十数台に縮小。 それによって、帰宅したものの自転車の返却ができない事態が発生し、大変慌てました。 幸い、徒歩圏内にもう一つポートを発見し事なきを得たので、その点はベイバイクさんの手腕に感謝しております。 しかし、朝から夜までの仕事が終わり、ようやく家でゆっくりできるぞと考えていた矢先、 「ポートが満員です、返却できません。」というアナウンスを聞いた時の絶望感は、トラウマ級のものです。 もちろん、私にも改善すべき点があり、そういったことがなるべく起こらないようにベイバイクさんも調整をされていたことと存じます。 いつも使っていたポートには、使用可能台数が変更される旨を書いた看板がありましたし、そもそもポートは返却予約を前もってすることが可能です。 最大の不幸は、8〜9月の私の出勤日に晴れが重なり、私がその看板を確認できなかったことと、近所の台数無制限ポートに甘えて、返却予約をする習慣が全くなかったことです。 自転車の管理をするのも大変でしょうし、ポートの台数調整は致し方ないものと思います。 しかしながら、仕事終わりの疲れた私には、今後の使用を断念させるほどのショックがありました。 もし、過去に使用履歴のあるポートの仕様が変更される際に、アプリ上で何かお知らせがデカデカと表示されたら今頃おうちにいたのかなあ・・・と、そんなことばかり考えながら帰宅しました。 ま、自分が悪いんですけどね。 今後利用される方におきましては、是非とも毎回、返却ポートを予約することをおすすめいたします。 ベイバイクさん、大変お世話になりました。今までありがとうございました。 ### 1/5 — Dumbest app ever created *2025-09-17* There is no way to receive the required sms text if you do not have a Japanese phone number so it is impossible to register and therefore use. ### 2/5 — 現場の自転車置き場に書かれている2倍の料金請求がきた *2025-08-28* 八丈島で旅行中に利用。初めてだったのでアプリのダウンロードからやりました。現地の自転車置き場に165円/30分と書いてあり、アプリ登録中の画面にも同じ金額が書かれていたので、そう信じて利用。しかし利用後にアプリを確認すると、ちょうど2倍の金額が請求されていました。何かの間違いでは？と問い合わせ（メッセージの方で）すると「八丈島エリアの利用料は165円/15分なので間違っていません」と返信が。Webサイトを確認すると確かにその料金が書かれていましたが……なら現地の自転車置き場に書いてあった料金は何！？完全にしてやられた気分。 問い合わせ先の電話番号が悪名高いナビダイヤル（1分40円、繋がるまでも課金対象、スマホ無料通話の対象外）であることも非常に印象悪いです。問い合わせ先がナビダイヤルの企業は電話してくるなって事だと理解してます。 一応自転車そのものは問題なく利用できたので星2つにしておきますが、次の利用は無いと思います。 ## Frequently asked questions about ドコモ・バイクシェア ### What does this app do?
