## What is 서대문형무소역사관?

서대문형무소는 1908년 일제에 의해 경성감옥으로 개소되어 1945년 해방까지 항일독립운동가들이 투옥된 식민지 근대 감옥이다. 해방 이후에도 1987년까지 서울구치소로 이용되면서 민주화 인사들이 수감되어 한국 근현대사의 질곡을 안고 있는 공간이다.
