　　《国学宝典》收录范围为上起先秦、下至清末两千多年的中国典籍文献。选书时吸收了清代以后至当代学人有关古籍整理的重要成果，充分考虑文献的实用价值，一批通俗小说、戏曲等均为《四库全书》所未收。大部分文献附有内容提要，包括作者简介、内容组成、版本等相关信息，增加了数据库的附加值。迄今为止，该系统已收入古籍文献近万种，总字数逾20亿字，基本涵盖了文史研究领域所有重要的文献资料，且目前仍以每年1～2亿字的速度扩充数据库内容。其目标是建成一个包含重要中文古籍的全文检索数据库。

收录标准：
　　1．历代经典名著；
　　2．各学科的基本文献；
　　3．经过整理，具有一定史料价值和研究价值的文献；
　　4．用户所需的其它文献。

底本选择：
　　1．完整本而非选本或残本；
　　2．母本或现存最早的版本及精校本；
　　3．经整理的标点本。

分类方法：
以四库分类法为基础，建立了一套兼容古籍文献和电子数据库特点的分类方法。

数据格式：
　　TXT；DBF；HTM；其它格式等。

检索功能：
　　在全库中任意范围查找，都可以在1秒钟内取得结果。不仅可以检索字、词、句，而且可以多条件组合检索，其检索结果可以复制、打印和保存。
