شغل رحمه الله مناصب عدة، ومنها اﻟﺮﺋﻴﺲ اﻟﻌﺎم ﻟﺸﺆون اﻟﻤﺴﺠﺪ اﻟﺤﺮام واﻟﻤﺴﺠﺪ النبوي، ﻋﻀﻮ ﻫﻴﺌﺔ ﻛﺒﺎر اﻟﻌﻠﻤﺎء، وﻋﻀﻮ اﻟﻤﺠﻠﺲ اﻟﺮﺋﺎﺳﻲ ﻟﻤﺮﻛﺰ اﻟﻤﻠﻚ ﻋﺒﺪاﻟﻌﺰﻳﺰ ﻟﻠﺤﻮار اﻟﻮﻃﻨﻲ ﺑﺎﻟﻤﻤﻠﻜﺔ اﻟﻌﺮﺑﻴﺔ اﻟﺴﻌﻮدية
وُلِد معالي الشيخ صالح بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد العزيز الحصيِّن في شقراء بالمملكة العربية السعودية سنة ١٣٥١هـ/١٩٣٢م، وتخرَّج في كلية الشريعة بالمملكة سنة ١٣٧٤ هـ/١٩٥٥م. ثم حصل على درجة الماجستير في الدراسات القانونية من معهد الدراسات العربية في القاهرة سنة ١٣٨٠هـ/١٩٦٠م، كما درس اللغتين الإنجليزية والفرنسية وألمَّ بهما، وتلَّقى دراسات في حلقات العلم في المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي الشريف، وحفظ القرآن الكريم على يد الشيخ اسحق كردي. وقد بدأ حياته العلمية في التدريس، ثم أصبح مستشاراً قانونياً في وزارة المالية السعودية، فرئيساً لهيئة التأديب سنة ١٣٩٠هـ/١٩٧٠م. وبعد ذلك أصبح وزير دولة وعضواً في مجلس الوزراء، وهو الآن الرئيس العام لشئون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي الشريف، ورئيس مركز الملك عبد العزيز للحوار الوطني، كما كان عضواً في المجلس الأعلى للدعوة والإرشاد.
توفي رحمه الله مساء السبت 24 جمادى الاخره 1434 للهجرة عن عمر يناهز 82 عاماً، وصلي عليه بجامع الراجحي بالرياض بعد صلاه العصر ليوم الأحدالموافق 25 جمادى الاخره 1434 للهجرة، ودفن رحمه الله بمقبرة النسيم.

ب. ضعف ثقة المسلم بالإسلام بوصفه منهجا للحياة وطريقة للعيش، وترتب على ذلك عدم الوعي بأمكانات الإسلام، فضلا عن الإرادة في الإنتقاع بها.
