不同於以往的三國SLG，《我在三國做將軍》中，玩家可以四處征戰，搬遷至更高級的主城。版圖擴張的同時，進而解鎖新州、發布招賢令，獲得強力武將。
跟隨遊戲官爵任務、儲備軍隊，招募武將，晉升官位，爭霸皇城，成就建國大業！

《我在三國做將軍》新創的雄才系統賦予了每一位武將獨特的「雄才」，是為戰場外的特殊技能。舉凡軍事、內政、經濟，三領域都有強力技能；若運用得當，便能改變戰局。玩家必須要熟知各武將的雄才技能，使各領域效益最大化，方能百戰百勝。
