คำอวยพร คือ คำพูด ข้อความที่แสดงความปรารถนาดีต่อกัน ตามปกติคนเรามักใช้คำอวยพรในชีวิตประจำวันในโอกาสต่าง ๆ เช่น เมื่อเราต้องจากกัน ส่งข่าวคราวถึงกันและกัน ใช้ในโอกาสพิเศษ เช่น วันคล้ายวันเกิด วันขึ้นปีใหม่ การขึ้นบ้านใหม่ หรือการประสบเคราะห์กรรม เช่น การเจ็บป่วย การได้รับอุบัติเหตุ นอกจากนี้คำอวยพรมักใช้ตอนท้ายของคำกล่าวต่อที่ประชุมในโอกาสต่าง ๆ
