بعد التطوّر التكنلوجيّ الذي بات حاجة ملحّة في الحياة اليوميّة وضرورة لا يستغنى عنها كان لزامًا على مَن يمتلك وسائل العلم والمعرفة أن يواكب الحداثة والعولمة الثقافيّة؛ ليحافظ على موروثه العلميّ ويبقى سهل التداول والوصول إلى أكبر عدد ممكن من المستفيدين.
وقد وجدنا في مركز إحياء التراث في العتبة العبّاسيّة المقدّسة شدّةَ احتياج المحقّق التراثيّ إلى كتاب (طبقات أعلام الشيعة) بقرونه العشرة، لمؤلّفه الفذّ، العالم البارع، الشيخ محمّد محسن الطهرانيّ المعروف بـ(أقا بزرك) (ت1389هـ)، وكثرةَ استعماله له وعدم استغنائه عنه ببدائل؛ كونه من المصادر المهمّة التي لها الريادة في بابه، وللأسف لم يحظَ هذا الأثر الثرّ بما يستحقّه من حيث الطباعة، وإن كانت هناك جهود فرديّة وقعت على بعض مجلّداته بقرونٍ معيّنة تناولها بعض المحقّقين بعناية واهتمام.
فارتأينا عندها أن نُخرج هذا السِّفر النفيس بتطبيق الكترونيّ يخدم المختصّين والمهتمّين بالتراث؛ وليكون واجهةً معرفيّة لـمَن أراد الاطّلاع على علماء الطائفة الحقّة وما أحوال رجالها، وليسهل البحث والتنقيب عنهم بأقّل وقت ممكن.
وحوى التطبيق الكتاب بثلاث صيغ:
	•	صيغة تُمكّن الباحث من نسخ ما فيه من معلومات.
	•	صيغة تعرض صورة المادّة العلميّة كما هي في المطبوع.
	•	صيغة تعتبر ميزة فريدة تخدم المختصّ بشكل كبير، وهي أنّا أضفنا النسخة المخطوطة للكتاب التي خطّها المؤلِّف رحمه الله تعالى بيده المباركة؛ كي يتسنّى له التأكّد ممّا يشكّ فيه ويحتمل خطأه طباعيًّا؛ كون الكتاب -كما أسلفنا- لم يُحقَّق بتحقيق علميّ دقيق، لذا ترى فيها بعض الأخطاء الطباعيّة.
وقد امتاز التطبيق بالبساطة بعيداً عن التعقيد، ليسهل التعامل معه من قبل الباحثين.
