非常によいアプリだと思いますが、最近、一部の単語が全てのスペルを打たないと検索に引っかからない不具合が発生しているようです。このアプリを使い続けたいので、修正をお願いします。

I've been using this app for years on the iPhone and it's just as good on the iPad. I'm also happy with how quickly they released retina updates. 

There isn't quite as much content as Kenkyusha or some of the other major dictionaries, but the app itself is so much better that I'd still say this app is by far the best. And the content is also quite thorough with good definitions and lots of examples.

辞書の内容は紙の物と同じレベルと思います。電子版ならではの機能が欲しいと思います。特にスペルがうろ覚えの単語の曖昧検索は欲しい機能です。機能追加を期待しています。

It is great as a Japanese to English dictionary, it includes a lot of explanations, pictures and even graphs for choosing words. I give it 5 stars for that. My gf who's Japanese find it great.

On the other hand it's quiet poor for Japanese to English, since the explanations are in Japanese and there's no readings for kanji, I'm beginner when it comes to Japanese. I give it 1 star in this aspect.

This isn't the world's prettiest app but it is functional and perfectly usuable as a dictionary by anyone at intermediate level Japanese or better (you need to be perfectly happy with kana and not scared of kanji). The things to remember are that you can input Kanji by tracing using the Simplified Chinese Handwriting keyboard built into the iPad (I wish Apple would implement this properly for Japanese too but it's perfectly usable) and that you can get a reading for the Kanji by tapping on the entries (it's bit of a wierd tap and hold but not too long - easy once you've done it a few times). The only issue I have is that there are a few bugs in this. It sometimes just doesn't work or it sometimes takes you to the wrong location. For example I tapped on the kanji for ASOBU (play) and it took me to MUYUUBYOU (sleepwalking). Similarly lots of times it doesn't take you to a definition at all even though the definition is there. I really hope this gets fixed in an update because this is a really important feature and needs to work more reliably. The dictionary content is excellent with plenty of usage examples. The ordering of words by frequency for partial matches is interesting - I'll have to see how that works out.

간결한 인터페이스. 풍부한 내용인데도 불구하고 최적화되어서 그런지 앱 용량은 적은 편.
더군다나 아이패드와 같이 사용가능. 동사의 다이지린 사전과 더불어 최고의 사전 앱이라고 생각됩니다.

発音などしてくれてとても便利なんですが、語彙が貧弱すぎます。英検準一級の単語でさえカバーしきれていません。これでは発音はしてくれませんが、英辞朗を使います。高い買い物をしたのであまりにも残念です。

Its Awesome! Could be perfect a app if it has pronunciation of Kanji. I'm Chinese, I can understand most of Kanji without help, but the pronunciations of kanji are different between Chinese and Japanese

海外生活のメインの辞書として十分耐えられる内容で長いこと愛用しています。

もともとiPhone用に購入したものでしたが、iPadでも使用でき、しかもiPad用のUIも用意されていたのは嬉しい誤算でした。iPad上だと流石に見やすく、検索も楽で非常に重宝してます。

アプリ起動時にオートでキーボードを表示できるようになったのは嬉しいけれど、大辞林と同じように、空欄タップでキーボードが引っ込むよう改善して欲しいです。

This dictionary doesn't have enough words. 
"Eijiro on the WEB" much better, I can find any words that I want to know, and it's free (only problem is has to be online).

This WISDOM has how to pronounce, a lot of examples...etc which are good parts of this dictionary.
But so many words are missing. It might be a enough number of words for students, but  definitely not enough for business. 
Please add more words!!

This was the first app I had ever purchased when the app store went up, and still the app I use most. 

Occasionally it doesn't contain a rare Japanese word I'm looking for, and it would be nice if it could be used for Kanji stroke order reference, but otherwise it's perfect. Essential for any Japanese as a second language speaker.

Based on the user interface of many common Japanese electronic dictionaries - this is a great addition to the iPhone for both native Japanese and non-native intermediate level learners of Japanese.  I suspect those that gave this dictionary 1 star have a very poor level of Japanese and hence don't know how to use this dictionary to its full potential.  I also own kotoba and Japanese and they serve their purpose well for non-native speakers but having Wisdom makes a complete dictionary solution as I often use all three.  
  A must for a serious leaner of Japanese but as a stand alone J/E E/J dictionary it's not designed for non-native speakers.  Don't expect verb stems and all the useful extras found in "Japanese" etc but at least you can be sure the examples are accurate!
Can only get better

当方ipod touch（64G）・iOS4・iTune9使用で初めての購入＆インストールでしたが、問題なく動作しました。
みなさんのインストールできないエラーの原因がわかりませんが、一度iTuneからipod touchの「復元」をされてはいかがでしょうか。
私は購入＆インストール直前に一度復元をかけました。ご参考になればと思います。

アップデートはしないの？　他のアプリはみんなしているのに
ちなみにlong man の英英辞典は両方の単語も載っている
それでも3000円という安い値段だ　アップデートしないのならこの辞書アプリは詐欺アプリだ
この二つの単語は使い出して３０分後に見つけた　これから使っていけば
たくさん検索できない単語が出てくるだろう　これで辞書と言えるだろうか　呆れてしまう
もう一度言う詐欺だ　教育関連でこの体たらくはない　返信を待つ

見出しや説明等のテキストがコピー出来ない様になっている。
選択範囲にリンクがあるとコンテキストメニューが開く前にリンク先へ飛んでしまう。
見出しは長押ししても選択状態にならない。
だから和英で検索して見つかった英単語がコピー出来ない。

急に海外に行くことになったのでダウンロードしたのですが、ipod touch　に同期出来ません。
ネットで調べると書物書堂さんのＨＰに「複数のお客様より iTunes からのインストール（同期）に
失敗する現象についてお問合せいただいております。原因につきましてはアップル社と協力して調査しております。」
とありました。調べないで買ったこちらもいけないのですが、このような現象が起こりうるなら
会社としてもっとちゃんと大々的に、ダウンロード画面に注意表記をするべきなんじゃないでしょうか？
「調査中」などという状態で、この値段のアプリを提供していることが信じ難いです。
返金も不可能ですし、今回は電子辞書を持って行くしかないですね。「調査」とやらが終わらない限りは。

I bought this the first week it came out. I can't read kanji so going from E-J as an english speaker the app is useless. I emailed them about it and their response tone was "thanks but don't look for it soon." meaning it'll probably never have it, and I wasted $20ish bucks. Not to mention this was before apple allowed for refunds so I can't get one.

このアプリを入れると、同期の際に頻繁に固まります。
辞書として云々の前に、使い物にならないので、結局外しています。
結構な値段のアプリなのに、返品もできません。
試用も返品もできないAppleの販売システムに、法律的な問題はないのでしょうか。

期待のバージョンアップ！　これでやっと使えると思い喜び勇んでバージョン1.0.1をインストールしようとしましたが、同期でエラーが起きインストールで居ませんでした。がっかり。
iPhoneは2.0.2。もちろん物書堂さんのサポートページを熟読してからインストールしました。

While it looks quite interesting, this app is a total disaster to install. Its resulted in me having to do a restore of my iPhone and me losing a week on info due to a corrupt backup. If you do manage to get in installed, it then messes up your ability to download & install any other apps. Honestly it should be pulled from the store until these issues are resolved.

This dictionary appears to be a very nice Japanese to English dictionary. I imagine it would be useful to a native Japanese speaker. For a native English speaker, you cannot search for Japanese words using Roman-ji in any useful way and get a English translation. Essentially it assumes you know several thousand Kanji not to mention Hiragana and Katakana. It also uses a lot of Kanji in describing English meanings. Since it is not what it is is advertised as, I rate it as only a 1.

“demur” という単語の発音が”demure”の発音となっているかと思います。

特にiPadでの使い勝手が良く、マルチタスクで翻訳しながら英文書を読むのは便利です。

わずか3000円程度で電子辞書を超える利便性があり、端末を買い換えても持ち越せる。
英語学習するなら買わない手は無い！！

何年も前に購入したアプリですが、きちんと最新のOSに対応してくれています。

追記、またアップデートきました！いつまでサポートしてくれるんだ、すごいな。
昔の紙の辞書は一生ものだったからデジタルのもずっとつ使えるのはありがたい。

私はこの辞書よりも安い or 高い辞書と比較の上で購入しました。
学習者のレベルとしては中上級(TOEIC900+)ぐらいです。

ウィズダムが優れている点として
●（単なる訳語の羅列ではなく、）語源などにも詳しく触れていて、単語の持つイメージを掴みやすい。例文も的確で豊富。
●色使いがスッキリしていて見やすかったこと、です。

★言葉のニュアンスを伝えることに重点を置いてある辞書です。
日本語と英語が全く語源の異なる言語である以上、当然ながら1対1の訳はあり得ません。 
それならば多くの訳を逐次覚えるより、言葉の持つイメージを掴む方が結局は近道だったりします。
「自分は右脳派」という方には特にオススメかもしれませんね。

★さて、素晴らしい英和/和英の辞書がいつでも手元で見られて2800円。
1回のTOEIC受験料の半分程度です。個人的には安すぎるとさえ思いますよ。
★現在の若い人たちだとオンライン辞書のおかげで「辞書は無料」というイメージがあるのかもしれませんが、辞書は作成者が膨大な労力を費やして作られていて、意外と個性もあります。
色々と比較して、より自分に合いそうな辞書を見つけられると良いと思います。

個人的にはかなりオススメできますよ♪

※もっと深めたい時は英英辞書とか。慣用句ならGoogleを使って（バイリンガルや留学経験者の方のブログなど）色んな方の知識を頼る方が良い時もありますね。
※レビューの中には、「これって、ネガティブキャンペーンでは？」というようなものが散見されます。[アップデート中に固まる]というレビューとか。せめて環境を記載しないと無用なレビューではないでしょうか。
ちなみに私は3GSと４Sで問題ありませんでした。OSは4.3と5.1です。
※最近、新しく発見した機能は「本体シェイクすると文字列がクリアされる」というものです。便利ですよ♪常識かも？
※オススメしといて変ですが、辞書なんて何でも良いと感じてます(笑)もちろん紙のでも電子辞書でも。英語は言葉なので勉強のための勉強にならないようにしたいものです。臆せずどんどん使いましょう！

主にiPhoneで使っていますが、手軽で非常に使いやすく、レスポンスも早いので、今までより英語専用の電子辞書を使わなくなりました。無料のアプリもありますが、お金を払う価値はあります。

私が便利だと感じる点は、
見出し語、成句、例文で分けて検索できること
例文は英語と日本語を混ぜて検索できること
検索語はハイライトされて見やすいこと
Siriを使って音声入力できること
発音を音声再生できること
訳語の間に例文が一覧できること
コーパス情報があること
日本人学習者向けの語法の説明が簡潔かつわかりやすいこと

英英辞典のLDOCD5も購入しましたが、そちらからこちらへジャンプできるのも便利です。（逆ができるかはわからないのですが…）

見出し語数も十分ですが、欲を言えばこれからのアップデートで例文数を増やしていただけるとありがたいです。
