*2025-12-08, version 3.62.0*

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-12-26*

### 1/5 — UN LABYRINTHE SANS SORTIE

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2024-11-25, version 3.51.0*

This is an app that is very important for members if maccabi. Unfortunately IT DOESNT WORK!!!

### 1/5 — Stupid design, the customer service are idiots

*2024-08-28, version 3.50.2*

I spent 10mins on the phone just to speak to customer service who told me that dentistry appointments are in another app/service. I explained to her that from the perspective of a customer (especially one who has waited for service), this makes little sense. She then proceeded to tell me that my perspective is dumb…. Lovely…

*2024-08-22, version 3.50.2*

### 1/5 — No language options

*2024-04-28*

Although I am learning Hebrew, it is a slow learning process for me and there is just no way I can navigate this app. Even when I put it into Google Chrome it won't translate. So for me the app is useless as I know it is for many other other English speakers that have not yet mastered the language

### 1/5 — Terrible user experience

*2024-02-26*

Version 3.44.2 is as atrocious as the last several versions of this app. You cannot set an appointment or even search for a doctor most of the time. The amount of times it simply crashed…impossibly awful.

### 2/5 — No other languages but Hebrew

*2024-02-04*

In a time where almost every service in this country is available in English or other languages, for the high percentage of people who speak other languages, it is quite odd that the leading healthcare provider in Israel has an app that is only in Hebrew. It is such a simple change to make yet one that doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the list of priorities. Maybe at some point the 20%-30% of the country that is non Hebrew speaking can get service with Maccabi.

Sincerely,
The Olim Community

### 1/5 — Maccabi Health Insurance. Help please?

*2023-11-26*

Am very displeased, that you changed your software on my iPhone. I’m a 77 year old lady, and cannot get into online website at all! Have been trying quite a few times in the last 3 weeks. I’ve called Maccabi services, 5 times today alone, as I wanted to order medications.
The staff was nice, but they could not get me in on my iPhone. Eventually I used my IPad. (No computer). Though my iPhone still doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Options

*2023-10-29, version 3.42.0*

Not right or fair that there is no English option!

### 1/5 — horrible

*2023-09-14, version 3.39.0*

horrible app and horrible services. do not recommend

### 1/5 — Where’s the English option? How do you login to this app no one can even login me in

*2023-05-19*

Being new to Israel (our family moved July 2022) still haven’t learned enough Hebrew to navigate the app comfortably. Yes, there’s Google translate but I can’t even login to the app to begin with and neither can the nice ladies in my local maccabi office. I was told to contact the maccabi admin and ask them to help me login to access my medical records. More lines more frustration with something that is intended to make medical records easier to access. This app need to be more user friendly if it’s the only way insurance companies will send communications. Israel is full of new immigrants from English speaking countries there must be an English option available it isn’t difficult to add this function .

### 3/5 — Translate the app

*2023-05-16*

When are you planning on translating the app in English at least ?

### 1/5 — English!!!!

*2023-04-16, version 3.35.0*

I’m a student in Israel and I don’t know the language yet. Why can’t you make an English option for this app?

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2023-04-13, version 3.35.0*

I have to log in about 30 times to book an appointment bc every time I’m about to book what I want the app refreshes and logs me out.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Inaccessible health services, totally unacceptable, and illegal.

*2026-03-18*

Hebrew-Only in 2026 — Violates Ministry of Health Directive
This app has zero English support. No language toggle, no settings option, nothing. This isn’t just poor UX — it’s a regulatory violation.
Ministry of Health Director General’s Circular 7/11 (effective February 2013) explicitly requires HMO websites and digital services to be accessible in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English. The Patient’s Rights Law (1996) requires that medical information be provided “in a language that is close and understandable to the patient,” reinforced by a 2014 amendment addressing patients who have difficulty understanding Hebrew.
Maccabi’s response? Use Google Translate. For medical information. They even put a disclaimer on their website saying they take no responsibility for translation accuracy. That’s not accessibility — that’s liability shifting.
Maccabi claims WCAG 2.0 AA compliance on their website. That standard covers screen readers and color contrast — it says absolutely nothing about providing multilingual content. Claiming AA compliance while delivering a Hebrew-only app to a country with hundreds of thousands of English, Russian, and Arabic speakers is misleading at best.
Post-2024 immigration from English-speaking countries hit a 30-year high. Maccabi markets itself as having a high percentage of Anglo staff and patients. Yet the app those patients actually need to use daily — booking appointments, viewing test results, communicating with doctors — remains locked behind a language wall with no accommodation.
One star until there’s full compliance the law as it pertains languageq. Not Google Translate. An actual interface.

*2026-02-08, version 4.0.1*

### 1/5 — No English is a threat to health

*2026-02-01*

After 3 years with so much of my health information only available online in Hebrew, I find that both my quality of care and health are deteriorating. Potential olim from the English-speaking countries should consider the consequences to their health if they are not Hebrew-fluent.

### 1/5 — No English!!

*2025-11-06, version 3.61.0*

Why is this website inaccessible to elderly people who do not navigate easily in Hebrew. An English version is really needed but you have known that for a long time!

### 1/5 — English is necessary

*2025-10-05*

I don't understand why there's no English. It would take me years to learn enough Hebrew to read tests and results, etc. with a huge amount of English speakers, all of us trying to learn Hebrew I don't understand why we can't have an English interface

### 1/5 — Why isn’t there English?

*2025-08-05*

As one of the leading healthcare providers in Israel, Maccabi should be setting the standard for accessibility and inclusivity. It’s shocking that in 2025, a country known for its high-tech leadership still offers no proper English version of its app or website.

Thousands of olim (immigrants) rely on your services, many of whom have not yet learned Hebrew — and some are elderly or vulnerable. Navigating medical needs without language access is not just difficult — it’s a serious barrier to care.

This is not a minor oversight. It sends a clear message: that Maccabi is not prioritizing the people it claims to serve. If you’re committed to supporting all Israelis — including new immigrants — this must be corrected immediately.

It is unacceptable that a health service so essential to the public is not accessible in one of the most widely spoken and understood international languages. English access is a basic requirement, not a luxury.

Please address this with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.

### 1/5 — Troubleshooting

*2025-06-23, version 3.57.0*

No troubleshooting!

### 1/5 — poor data quality/updates

*2025-06-05, version 3.56.1*

data is missing constantly , prescriptions , references , doctor visits. app just won’t sync. i keep going back to the web portal.

### 1/5 — Hard to use

*2025-01-21*

Not easy to make appointments- easier to call and make appointments and also it’s logging out too quick sometimes in the middle of me doing something….

*2025-01-08, version 3.51.0*

### 5/5 — Language

*2023-04-24*

English is the international lingua franca and is spoken even as a second language throughout every Europen country and even Asia and South America. Yet in Israel’s official institutions and even its international Banks it’s almost impossible to find an English speaking representative at any level. Many English Olim made aliya after retirement (I am 88) when learning a new language especially like Hebrew, is very difficult. So surely Israel should make a greater effort to improve the range of its English speaking population. I also made Aliya after retirement and am 89 so learning Ivrit beyond elementary colloquialisms is well nigh impossible. The lack of English speakers is astonishing in an advanced, developed and sophisticated country like Israel - even more so in international Banks and medical institutions when English is the language of medicine. Furthermore English is conspicuously absent from notices and signs but French and Russian are used quite widely. Worse still is the absence of English on the main phone booking and Enquiries system although the option is offered!
