حوى كتاب الألف رجل للسيد غيث شبر أسماء وطبقات أهم رجال الحديث ممن يحتاجهم الباحث لتحقيق الأسناد، وتميز باستقصائه لعناوين كل رجل في كتب الحديث، بل وضم أيضا كثيرا من العناوين المموهة التي حدثت جراء التصحيف، فأشار اليها مؤلف الكتاب في ثنايا المعجم، فضلا عما حواه من ملخص موجز لأهم ما يمكن أن يوثق به الرجل او يضعف به، وخاصية جرد العناوين كانت مهمة جدا في تسهيل عملية تعيين الراوي ضمن السند.
وقد طلب العديد من الأخوة إصداره بشكل رقمي ليسهل التعامل والبحث فيه، خاصة أن المطبوع كتاب ليس من السهل حمله اينما كان، فاستجبنا لهم، وتم تحويله الى هذا التطبيق العلمي السلس، وبما أن التطبيق في إصداره الاول فلا نأمن وقوع الاخطاء والاشتباه وإن كنا قد حاولنا جهد طاقتنا أن يكون مطابقا وصحيحا، لكن الإنسان مجبول على الخطأ والعصمة لأهلها، نسأل الله أن يمن علينا بالتوفيق لما فيه الخير وأن يذكرنا الباحثون بدعواتهم.
