"الإمارات اليوم" صحيفة محلية، بالقطع العالمي الجديد، تصدر عن مؤسسة دبي للإعلام، وقد صدر العدد الأول منها في 19 سبتمبر 2005،وتركز في مجمل محتواها على الشأن المحلي، والقضايا التي تهم القراء العرب في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ضمن سياسة تلتزم بالشروط المهنية للعمل الصحافي القائم على الدقة والتوازن والموضوعية، وتسعى في الوقت نفسه لتلبية متطلبات القراء في المعرفة والترفيه الذكي، وتحاول من خلال صدورها بالقطع المصغر أن تتكيف مع التغييرات العالمية في هذا المجال، وتطور أساليب القراءة والتصفح، استجابة لمتطلبات الحياة العصرية، ويُنتج الصحيفة فريق محترف من الصحافيات والصحافيين الشباب.
تستخدم في هذا البرنامج تقنية الـ RSS التي توفر آخر الأخبار للقارئ، كما تسهل للقارئ التواصل مع الجريدة عبر المشاركة بالتعليقات والتواصل مع الأصدقاء عن طريق إرسال الأخبار مباشرة عبر البريد الإلكتروني أو مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي مثل "فيس بوك" و"تويتر" و"غوغل +" و"لينكد إن".
ويمكن للقارئ اختيار الأقسام التي يرغب بقراءة أخبارها من خلال القائمة الرئيسة الموجودة على يمين التطبيق. كما يتميز التطبيق بسهولة التصفح وإمكانية تكبير الخط.
التطبيق يحتوي على الصفحة الرئيسة والتي يمكن اختيار أقسامها من القائمة الموجودة على اليمين، والأخبار داخل الأقسام والصفحة الخاصة بكل خبر.  ويمكن الدخول على باقي الأخبار من أي من هذه الصفحات.

‏بحاجة ماسة إلى تطوير جذري. ‏شوفوا كيف جريدة gulfnews الإنجليزية. ‏لا تحطون دعايات إجباري. إذا تبغون تحطون دعايات سووا اشتراكية بمبلغ بسيط جدا للأشخاص الذين لا يرغبون رؤية الإعلانات. ولكن ‏بعد تطوير التطبيق.

The app paste whatever the user has copied from any other application and paste it when launching this app. I’ve seen this due to the new iOS 14 privacy protection by Apple. You can also see that if you copy something and then launch this app you will see the message on the upper side of your screen saying pasted from the ( app you copied the text from )

لا أنصح بتحميله كونه بطيء جداً وكثيراً التطبيق لا يفتح ويحتوي الكثير من المشاكل 
الخلاصة تطبيق متخلف وبدائي وسيّء جداً ولا يليق بصحيفة الامارات اليوم التابعة لمؤسسة دبي للإعلام .. يحتاج الى تطوير كبير للحاق بالتكنولوجيا الحديثة

الجريدة 📰 قوية في نشر الأخبار المهمة للقارئ🏅، ولكن التطبيق سيّء 👎🏻 ويحتاج إلى تحسين بدرجة كبيرة
بعض نقاط العيب في التطبيق
🔴بعض الأخبار تظهر في التنبيهات.. ولكن عند الضغط عليها.. التطبيق لا يظهرها، وتظهر دائرة التحديث بلا توقف، ومن ثم البرنامج يغلق نفسه
🔴لا يوجد إبداع في تصميم التطبيق مثل تطبيق جريدة الاتحاد
🔴لا توجد طريقة لتكبير الصور في الأخبار
🔴لا توجد طريقة للدخول على رابط الخبر في الموقع الرئيسي للجريدة
🔴عند محاولة كتابة تعليق للخبر.. الزر يذهب إلى موقع الخبر في الانترنت، وهذه ليست طريقة فعّالة لكتابة تعليقات أو تقييم الخبر!
🔴كثير من المساحات في التطبيق غير مستخدمة بشكل جيد وفعّال
🔴لا توجد طريقة للذهاب إلى أعلى الصفحة بعد قراءة الخبر (الطريقة المعتادة بالضغط على أعلى الشاشة لا تعلم)
