## What is Хирияв аятбе?

The “Хирияв аятбе” app is designed for native speakers of the Hinukh language, as well as those interested in it. It includes Ginukh translations of books from the Old Testament: the Book of Jonah and the Book of Ruth. The translation was carried out by native speakers of the Hinukh language in Dagestan and a team of IPB specialists in biblical studies and linguistics. 
The translation was done using the oral method, with the initial result being an audio recording. Subsequently, the audio recording was also transcribed into text format. 
The app provides an opportunity to study the Ginukh language. Internet access is required to listen to streaming audio synchronized with the text. In “Settings,” you can select the “Download Audio File” option. Then, you will only need an internet connection once to download the audio files to your device. Afterward, you can listen to them offline. While listening, the corresponding text segment is highlighted in color. This can be disabled in “Settings.”

The app allows you to listen to audio recordings of individual selected passages. A light tap on the text lets you either play the audio recording of the corresponding verse or place the verse over a background image. The image can be selected from within the app or from the user’s device gallery. The text on the image background can be visually edited using the photo quote editor. Photo quotes can be shared from the user’s device via messaging apps and social media.

Users can:
* highlight verses in different colors, add bookmarks, and write notes;
* search by keyword;
* view their reading history;
* share a link to the app on Apple App Store with other users;
* increase or decrease the font size in the “Text Appearance” section, as well as choose a different color scheme: sepia or light text on a black background.

The app also includes Russian  and English translations. These can be displayed line-by-line or side-by-side as a second screen.
