### 3/5 — Excellent selection of music but…

*2026-08-08, version 1.64.1*

The selection of music in the catalog is excellent, and the app functionality, search, navigation and streaming quality is good.

My main issue, which causes me to deduct two stars, is that the app often freezes when it is reopened- I am not 100% certain but I believe this is related to network connection changes, for example, moving from Wi-Fi to cellular.

The other problem is that if I am playing a selection on the iPhone app, and move to the car, and open the app on (wireless) Apple CarPlay, it loses context of what I was playing, In other words the “currently playing” icon at the top right of my CarPlay screen is missing. The app also sometimes freezes in this situation. I have to quit and then reopen it to recover.

Both these issues are pretty annoying.

### 5/5 — Nice to hear classical music!

*2026-07-17, version 1.64.0*

Great compared to the junk on the radio these days

### 5/5 — The Best!

*2026-07-14, version 1.64.0*

It’s simply the best classical music streaming service and the only one that understands how the music works. So grateful!

### 5/5 — Highly recommended

*2026-07-09*

I’ve tried a few music apps and have always been disappointed. IDAGIO is far and away the best. It plays the music I want to listen to without mixing the tracks up or playing something different before my choice. I feel confident in recommending IDAGIO, it’s the one I’ll stick with.

### 5/5 — Great catalogue depth

*2026-07-03*

Incredibly deep and rich catalogue with recordings from early wax cylinders to the latest. Search by work and even opus number. Compare interpretations by the greatest performers.

### 5/5 — Lovely app

*2026-06-30*

This is a lovely app and is very simple to use and has a huge and ever expanding library of music. I listen to classical music for my mental health and also keeps me grounded and relaxed. I currently am a premium member and also like how the fair payout for artists for pieces in classical. I can’t say I know all the terminology but I know what I like haha. I love the mood section if you just want music of a certain style for moods etc. the sound quality is lovely and really recommend. X

### 5/5 — LMS please!

*2026-06-22*

Brilliant in so many ways. The only classical streaming service that allows you easily to find and compare different versions of the same work. But please, could you make it available on Lyrion Music Server for all those Squeezebox users out there? Currently if I don’t want to stream through my phone with all the irritations that involves I have to use a Sonos, Bluesound or NAD setup. I can use any other streaming service and access my saved music files on my Squeezebox setup and I don’t want to have to buy a new and expensive piece of gear just for IDAGIO.

### 5/5 — IDAGIO

*2026-06-21, version 1.63.4*

Awesome.. nothing more needs to be said…

### 5/5 — Amazing resource for exposing my kids to classical music

*2026-06-16, version 1.63.4*

Pick a composer or mood and push play. Classical training starts with listening and I’m so grateful for this app that I can use at home and listen with my family.

### 5/5 — Perfect Classical Music App

*2026-06-14, version 1.63.3*

It has all the recordings I’ve ever wanted but couldn’t afford/find back in the pre-streaming days. The app has key features unique to Classical, and the separation
from main stream streaming apps is so important,, I’d need far more room to explain but it’s critical..

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2026-06-13, version 1.63.3*

Excellent selection and accessibility

### 5/5 — Gold standard streaming

*2026-06-13, version 1.63.3*

I purchased the $200 version of IDAGIO four or five years ago and it is a robust streaming musical gem. I have it through the blue sound power node and also as an app on my phone which I just opened up and they asked me to give them the review, which is five stars.

### 5/5 — Excelente opción de muy buena música.

*2026-06-12, version 1.63.3*

El menú musical es variado y acorde al gusto de cada día. Ahora me acompaña, a toda hora en mis trabajos de oficina.

### 5/5 — Great classical music app

*2026-06-10, version 1.63.3*

After using both Apple Classical and IDAGIO, IDAGIO is the clear winner. Navigation is more intuitive, searching for a specific work is faster, and the discovery features actually surface music worth hearing. The playback queue is well-designed, and the automatic suggestions based on listening history are consistently relevant.

### 5/5 — A Premier Classical Audio Experience

*2026-06-06, version 1.63.2*

I am a IDAGIO long time user and have done so with and without the premium subscription. Which I would say is very much worth it. I have tried Apple Classical and although it has gotten much better I still prefer Idagio's catalog and recommendations.

### 2/5 — Intermittent & No Developer Response

*2026-06-05, version 1.63.3*

I’ve been having an issue whereas if I have music playing in my house, walk into my garage and begin to use the app listening to music there, the music in the house stops. It’s the only app like this that does this. I’ve messaged the developer Twice and received No Reply. Yes, it’s a lovely app, but it’s not working for me, it’s Not Cheap (retired & handicapped) and heinous Support from developer at all, making the service Worthless.

### 5/5 — Magnificent streaming service.

*2026-06-01*

I have subscribed for several years to Idagio and enjoy its serious approach to classical music recordings.

Its range of the repertoire is enormous and is constantly being updated. It is rare to look for a piece of music and to not find it.

The sound quality is consistently excellent.

Very highly recommended!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Search engine very poor

*2026-06-23*

I tried to find something simple like « Bach Prelude BWV 855a in b minor » but did not find it even though you can find it if you know an album that have it. Using Siloti did not help.

### 1/5 — Intermittent & No Developer Response

*2026-06-12, version 1.63.3*

Avoid like a STD! Refund promised BUT NEVER REFUNDED ME!! Avoid like a STD! Avoid like a STD!

I’ve been having an issue whereas if I have music playing in my house, walk into my garage and begin to use the app listening to music there, the music in the house stops. It’s the only app like this that does this. I’ve messaged the developer Twice and received No Reply. ### 1/5 — Lingue

*2026-05-24, version 1.63.2*

Sarebbe davvero molto bello se venisse supportata anche la lingua Italiana , quando ciò avverrà potrò prendere in considerazione di fare un abbonamento

### 1/5 — PÉSIMA GESTIÓN

*2026-05-21, version 1.63.2*

Tras pagar mi suscripción sigo siendo cliente free, sin poder escuchar discos enteros. Las dificultades para conectar con la plataforma hacen que sea disuasoria. No renovaré mi contrato

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel, Impossible to contact support

*2026-03-24, version 1.63.0*

The “cancel subscription” link in the app is broken. The help center link to cancel goes into the app, to the settings page with the broken “cancel” link. The mobile website doesn’t have a way to sign in to my account from the homepage.

Total violation of subscription cancellation compliance laws.

### 1/5 — No dudo que sea buena

*2026-03-21, version 1.63.0*

Pero valoro mi privacidad. Y una política de privacidad que toma 2 hr en ser leída no es una buena señal. Además no estoy de acuerdo con ella

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-01-10, version 1.62.1*

For ten minutes I tried to pull a specific piece of music up to listen to while I worked. After that much time, I should have been in well into the symphony. You really suck Idagio.

### 1/5 — Worse than useless

*2025-12-16, version 1.62.0*

Paid for a subscription. Then discovered:

1. Their iPhone app only works with Apple Airplay devices; doesn't support Chromecast/Google Cast devices. So they're useless with half the audio devices in my home. Spotify, Tidal & other streaming platforms let iPhone users stream to both kinds of devices. Spotify even supports Alexa Echo speakers. Why not Idagio?

2. Worse, there's no Idagio app for Google Play so I can't use Idagio on my Sony TV.

3. There's an Idagio app for Apple TV devices but it ONLY permits access to videos, so it only supports the top tier Idagio subscription.

Learned my lesson. Won't be renewing my Idagio subscription. I'll spend it on music platforms that aren't limited to one WiFi protocol & my headphones & make me run down my iPhone battery to listen to music.

### 1/5 — Terrible, do not bother!

*2025-11-30, version 1.62.0*

First, the music only plays for the time until your phone screen goes to sleep, and then it stops so you have to reactivate it and listen to the music stop and go. Frustratingly useless.
Second, Spotify has a much deeper classical collection. So many of my favorite albums I get on Spotify are not available on Idagio.

### 1/5 — iOS 26

*2025-10-15*

После установки iOS 26 начал сильно греться телефон при запуске приложения.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Cast to Alexa

*2026-08-17, version 1.64.1*

Please, in an upcoming update for Idagio make it so it can be with Alexa without the necessity of trying to do it through a Bluetooth so from an iPhone device such as an iPhone 17 Pro to Alexa

### 5/5 — IDAGIO

*2026-08-17, version 1.64.1*

What a fine choice and range of recordings, not all of them recent.

### 5/5 — Dr. Stevan Lars Nielsen

*2026-08-09, version 1.64.1*

Anything I might want to hear is here from multiple artists. Wonderful!!

### 5/5 — Benchmark of classical music apps

*2026-08-08, version 1.64.1*

A huge variety of music. Discovered many tracks from known composers which I wasn’t aware of. Grate for listening and completeness.

### 5/5 — Hands down the best app for classical music

*2026-08-04, version 1.64.1*

Finding apps with this much range and recordings for classical music is rare- especially when it comes to finding your favourite composers and recordings from your favourite artists, including new work. If I had anything to say, I wish it was more user friendly and easier to create a collection of your own favourite albums/works, apple music and spotify, for example, hold personal collections incredibly important. Also easier/more obvious to access the location of a movement within its album/larger work if, for example, you’re listening to it on the radio. Finally, sometimes when you look up the title of a work, it does not immediately appear and you have to scroll for a while- this is especially true for composers with a large output like Bach.

In the future it would be cool to be able to access more videos of the orchestras performing too maybe.

Thank you all for creating such a great app! I hope all those little things I mention above are helpful- because you’ve all made something really great. :)

### 5/5 — By far the best contemporary music source

*2026-07-31*

Such a brilliant product, I find myself always exploring the editors picks and extending knowledge of new and old performers from everywhere

### 5/5 — The best music streaming app

*2026-07-27*

By far. I only would like to ask, is it not possible to make it work with Alexa? I was given an Alexa, but it is useless for me without Idagio integration.

### 5/5 — Best classical music streaming service

*2026-07-23, version 1.63.5*

Using for some years now. Much better than the competition.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-07-22, version 1.63.5*

It my favorite thing to to listen to

### 5/5 — What a find!

*2026-07-21, version 1.63.5*

I’m so happy to have come across this app. Especially the part for what mood I’m in! Hits the spot every time.
