I cannot get my route to work. Can’t we just keep this simple for all? Why must we sign in everytime we try to use this… let’s go back to a simplistic system that works for all and not just IT people ### 1/5 — Idaho Fail *2023-07-06* App disappoints in almost every way. Although it can be useful for looking at traffic cameras along a chosen route, the route finding function and reporting functions are completely non functional. It will provide messages that there are issues along your chosen route, but when you try to determine what those issues are you are not given any information whatsoever, as in, no issues will even be displayed along your route, they are just ghost messages. You will then be provided these warnings daily for the next several weeks, even though you long ago completed your route. The only way to end them is to delete the app. ### 1/5 — Won’t load! Then using the app is even worse. I don’t need this app to give me directions I need it to report weather, closures accidents and the like. The old app I used to be able to do all this super easy. I can’t figure out how to do any of this now beside directions (I have google maps, Apple Maps and Waze for this). Don’t bother with this app it is garbage. ### 1/5 — HORRIBLE & DANGEROUS *2023-03-22* I literally DESPISE the new app update. A few months ago I could rely on Idaho 511 to give me a good idea of what my everyday drive would look like from Grace to Pocatello. Now, everyday it shows that the roads are safe when the roads are literally treacherous & people are driving literally 30 mph on the freeway. I am literally so angry because it makes me feel like the roads should be good when I really should just call into work because the roads are SO BAD. This was the worst thing to ever happen to Idaho 511, especially this winter. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change it back 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 ### 1/5 — Idahobeef *2023-03-11* The update is absolutely terrible!! Not useful! ### 1/5 — Completely gutted, no longer usable *2023-03-10* Prior to this “update” (it is in fact a whole new app, the old one was forcibly killed and removed from the appstore), the app was fine. UX was a little clunky but everything worked: reliable real-time info, camera access, weather advisories. As of the current update, it is a complete dumpster fire. Why must I verify yet another burner email to log in to a road conditions map? Why are weather advisories (arguably the most important feature) no longer shown by affected region, but a tiny invisible dot? Why is every UX element animated? Why is everything marked with inscrutable symbolic icons instead of words? I should not have to decipher hieroglyphics to pull up a [EXPLETIVE CENSORED] camera view. It continues: all the icons are too small. There are too many icons on the map to see the actual road, even with all irrelevant layers turned off. There is no ability to change the map mode (I.e. satellite image). The “weather radar” feature causes my phone to go into rave mode, flashing random colors across the screen and making the map unreadable. But hey, I can log in so that the IT subcontractor who made this revolting garbage scow can sell my UUID and geoloc data, and there are hideo— I mean, lovely dancing Alegria cartoons splattered all over the place. It’s just like a Facebook advertisement! The future is now! I’m so excited, I’ll drive off a bridge in celebration! This new App is useless ### 1/5 — This app is DANGEROUS!! *2023-03-01* The new app and website are TERRIBLE & DANGEROUS!! It doesn’t show road closures unless you zoom in super close and even then, it is a tiny caution icon you could miss easily. It used to show closed roads in red the entire length of the closure. Now, it just tells mile marker posts and who has those memorized?!?!😡 For people who use 511 daily to get in and out of our tiny valley safely, this app is dangerous!!! Please change it back!!! ### 1/5 — Seriously !?!?!? *2023-03-01* What a worthless app. Especially when people need it… closures all over, crashes, wrecks, shelter in place… and none of this shows up on this app.. not obviously anyway… apparently, you have to stand on your left foot while facing Mecca… slowly select the app and open it… if your lucky, you may be able to log in.. if not… do something else cause you’re wasting your time… if you can get in.. then you have the privilege of clicking on various options which allegedly show you closed roads… riigghhhttt…, the roads are marked one of a couple of ways… gray for good, blue for fair, purple for difficult and yellow for no report… closed roads are indicated only if you sign up… then you’ll see a little red “dot”… somewhere along the road you’re looking at… it may or may not be on the screen, visible to you in your area of selection… in Victor for example… it shows the red dot in Idaho Falls… and then it gets mixed up with the little signs in the town itself… unless you zoom out, zoom in, click on the little red dot.. you want know much.. very poor design. And a closer look at all the fine print, discloses what may be the real intent of this app… read all the things they want access to… it’s a data miner. It has more permissions than most games out there. Now I get it.. they could care less you can’t easily disseminate a RED closed road.. you’re distracted so you don’t read the fine print… time to call the governor and ask about this from a fiscal standpoint… looks like there were some serious mistakes I’m going with this app.. and I’ll guarantee that Idaho taxpayers are footing the bill. We should get what we need… not what someone wants… especially the data mining aspect of this app. They can’t change what they’ll be asking for… look at it closely. We looked at hwy 55 tonight before driving back from McCall to Boise and the app showed the roads as all green. And there are no longer any camera views available from within the app to confirm conditions. Suffice to say, we had a long and surprising drive home on snow packed roads in whiteout conditions. Extremely inconvenient as we are in a motor home towing a car and can’t back up. There’s construction near my home that has been going on for 4 months.
