It never works always offline. I’m previous home I had nest. Nest was 100%. Don’t know why I was told by boiler installer that this was fantastic ideal you are crap. Please Don’t buy one go to nest. ### 1/5 — This app is total rubbish!! *2020-07-09, version 1.1.1* I have had this app around 18 months now. It has been not working more than working. It has now been ‘off’ for 2 days now saying ‘we are currently experiencing difficulties communicating with our servers’. This is what it always says. It’s about time you got this problem resolved!! My ideal boiler is great but why this company promote this app I can’t imagine. I think it’s time to find another app to work with my boiler. ### 1/5 — Dave *2020-04-27, version 1.1.1* The app worked fine for 1 year controlling the boiler and then it did not pass any commands to the boiler and shows a different temp to the thermostat, have reset several times , no help from ideal , can’t recommend would get a nest . ### 1/5 — This is Cr-app! *2020-04-26, version 1.1.1* Doesn’t work how it’s supposed to. Eg if I want to put the hearing on for a period of time using the manual function, I am asked to set the timer, which I do then it just turns the heating on permanently and often to a temperature I didn’t select or want. Also the app lives in an alternate reality to the WiFi thermostat. Boiler is decent - tech is crap!!!! SORT IT OUT Ideal! Wish I’d read these reviews before listening to my plumber- would have gone for a different system ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t even give it one star *2020-01-26, version 1.1.1* This only gets one star as I need to rate it to make a review The whole system is beyond poor, you tell the hearing to do something in the app and it does whatever it feels like doing, there is no rhyme or reason to it either. To give you an example I set the app to turn heating on temporarily, and it sets the heating to a temp you don’t want then reverts to auto on its own accord, then today found it had set the heating to auto at 19C for no reason, but only showed on the app not the thermostat! I’ve spoken to ideal for 6 months now and all I get back is “this is with R&D”, which has so far done zero to resolve this, every time you speak to them they say “I’ve never seen this before” but look around on the net and I’m not alone. They need to get their act together and sort this or pull it from the market I can honestly say the boiler is fine but the remote system called touch connect is one to absolutely AVOID AVOID AVOID as they don’t seem to care it doesn’t work and are not looking like they will do anything to resolve it ### 1/5 — Not good ☹️ *2019-12-27, version 1.1.1* Works sometimes and not others, very glitchy app with glitchy control. Very expensive for something that doesn’t work very well. ### 1/5 — Not working and poor customer support *2019-12-21, version 1.1.1* Avoid if you can. Unable to get the app to complete its set up with the gateway device. Phoned ideal and the told us to turn off the boiler and remove batteries from the thermostat. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Contacted them again another day asking for help and they asked if my warranty registered. After running through the details she said yes you’re registered, I will get someone to ring you back the same day to help you. No calls back! Hopeless customer help line, paid so much for it and not able to use it. Drayton was much better ### 1/5 — Terrible *2019-12-13, version 1.1.1* Had the new boiler for a few months now and the app worked great. Recently the heating has started to turn itself off so when i come home the house is freezing. Defeating the object if having the geographical setting switched on. Also the app and thermostat have stopped working together and any changes i make on the thermostat dont show on my app. The app temperature doesn’t bare a resemblance to the thermostat either. Not a very reliable system. I should of gone with Hive. ### 1/5 — It’s stopped being reliable *2019-12-11, version 1.1.1* I’ve had this set up for 13 months and was originally happy as it just simply worked but recently it has stopped being reliable. The App just doesn’t seamlessly work with the Thermostat anymore. Neither are saying the same thing. When I turn up/down the temp from the app I have to go and check the thermostat to see if it’s actually changed. Today it set itself to 25degC! I had to manually turn the stat down which defeats the whole purpose of this. When I see it improve I’ll let you all know, but for now it’s useless. ☹️ ### 1/5 — This thermostat and app do not work *2019-12-11, version 1.1.1* This has cost me £250 and it doesn’t work. I am really annoyed with Ideal and their customer service. Don’t buy an ideal boiler. ### 1/5 — Improvement needed *2019-12-05, version 1.1.1* This app designed to work with ideal wireless thermostat definitely needs improvement from the speed of connecting to the servers while trying to use it and the registration process. It’s to slow and a major let down as you would expect a wireless touch smart thermostat made by ideal to work with the ideal boilers would be a perfect set up, but sadly not and it makes me think why did I purchase it instead of the very reliable other thermostat brands on the market. ### 1/5 — What a pile of s^**E *2019-12-05, version 1.1.1* App doesn't work You set manual and a temp and it just cancels it Ideal customer support is a disgrace and do not return calls Don’t waste your money ### 1/5 — Poor wish didn’t get this! *2019-12-04, version 1.1.1* App shows different temperature to thermostat, trying to adjust temperature on app but flicks back to different settings. So frustrating the understand the hive system is very good! Wounded if you can use hive with ideal combo 30. ### 1/5 — Simple smart thermostat *2019-12-03, version 1.1.1* Updated December 2019 I have now dropped my rating to 1 star. Since the last update the app only seems to communicate reliably in one direction with the thermostat. If I change a setting in app it is followed within a few seconds by the thermostat, but the app does not show the change or bear any semblance to the thermostat. The app will show off when the thermostat is on, it will show a totally different temperature and a totally different mode. I feel it is now totally useless. Original review This is a very simple to use smart thermostat and app. I can turn my heating on and off from anywhere in the house (or world) using the app. The heating switches itself off when The last person leaves the house and back on again when the first person returns thus saving huge amounts of money on gas bills. I would love to see an Apple watch app added. ### 1/5 — Suddenly refuses to work *2019-12-03, version 1.1.1* After many months enjoying being able to control the boiler from the app it now appears to not want to do so anymore. It simply won’t match the mobile thermometer despite deleting and reinstalling many times. As usual as soon as the clocks go back or forward , you can guarantee that someone has not taken this into account and the server fails .. Probably won’t be fixed until Tuesday. Whatever time or temperature you set it at on the app, it just changes it to what it feels like moments later. You would think they would update it with the amount you pay for the product. Wish I had the Worcester boiler now!!!!! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2021-01-02, version 1.1.1* Regret asking for a smart device when fitting replacement boiler. This is terrible. When I want to use the app it never remembers password so I have to type it in (and remember what I set it to) so rather than a simple few clicks to update settings it takes a lot on more effort. Often changes made in the app never make it to the boiler so you end up using the battery hungry room stat instead. Few updates for the app make me think fixes are not coming anytime soon. I’m also not sure how easy it would be to replace this with an alternative controller due to the way it integrates with the boiler. This should be avoided. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — All good *2020-01-10, version 1.1.1* I initially had a problem setting up the touch connect app, this was easily resolved with a call to the service desk who reset the gateway while I waited, now all works perfectly and is user friendly. ### 5/5 — Update to previous one star review *2019-12-04, version 1.1.1* After a call to the technical helpline my app has been reset and all working fine again. __________________________________________________ The app has been fantastic for a year now but recently has stopped working completely. The temperature showing in the app bears no resemblance to the thermostat and no changes made via the app actually hold for more than a few seconds. Please fix it for us. ### 5/5 — Buy with confidence *2019-05-08, version 1.1.0* This is a fantastic set up. My friend bought a more expensive alternative and is absolutely raging as his is no where as user friendly as the ideal one. Contacted the service desk as I was having set up problems when first bought. Engineer was very helpful and fully explained each of the set up options. The boiler itself is also excellent. It’s simple to use but very clever. The heating schedule screen is a breeze to use and enables you to alter the “on”, “off” times quickly and without fuss, from the comfort of your phone. Very Intuitive. ### 4/5 — It’s fab (sometimes!) *2020-01-21, version 1.1.1* This is a great app that allows you to control the heating from your phone. I turn the heating up before I leave work. It did have a funny 5 minutes when the app and the room thermostat wouldn’t synch. All it took was a phone call to the Helpdesk ‭01482 498663‬ and all sorted 😊 ### 3/5 — Not reliable *2019-11-11, version 1.1.1* Twice now I have woken up in the morning freezing cold because the App has switched off my heating without instruction, I have been out tonight and my therm was set to 17c, when I got in the house was freezing again and my app had switched off my heating ...... not happy ### 2/5 — Poor *2019-11-23, version 1.1.1* Settings to the app do not reflect on the mobile thermostat. It took three attempts to register and now when I set the PRT to a target temperature the app doesn’t follow and keeps saying my target is 25 instead of 19.5. I had to have this system as it came with the boiler but the Hive system I had is far better, accurate and in sync with the thermostat.
