After getting a false notification from the service I pay for, I’m planning to switch to this service when my paid subscription expires. I like their service. I don’t like this app. It’s weak. It makes me go through the identity verification process EVERY TIME I OPEN IT and it does only a fraction of what can be done on the web site. Good service, lame app. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2021-11-05, version 2.6.10* Started the Identity Guard subscription through a special deal with Costco about a decade ago and the service was great. Was moved to the “new servers” about a year ago and the service is now virtually useless. Cancelling my subscription today. Try to open account details it crashes. Try to verify identity it crashes. Are you going to trust your identity and social security number to a company that can even pay to have a DECENT app built? I’m not. Total scam ### 1/5 — Worthless. *2021-10-31, version 2.6.10* After 15 years with Privacy Assist, I cancelled my subscription!! When I was no longer able to access the web version on my iPhone, and instead directed to this Worthless App...I cancelled! Pay attention to the ratings, people!!! The thought behind this approach may be a security feature, but I disagree. It makes your mobile app irrelevant. ### 1/5 — Terrible Program *2021-10-20, version 2.6.10* I was unable to verify some identity information the app requested since I no longer have access to those records. I wasn’t given the option to offer up different identity records before my account was cancelled, leaving me unprotected without notice. The company did not charge me for the service, or lack of service, which was appropriate. But, that didn’t offset my disappointment with their program. Look elsewhere. ### 2/5 — Transaction alert details not in app *2021-09-08, version 2.6.10* The app warns you of transaction amounts over your set threshold but when you click the alert to see the details, it just gives you a link to their website where you have to login yet again to see the details ### 1/5 — No Credit Reports *2021-08-26, version 2.6.10* I’ve had this app for nearly a decade and recently it was declined severely in product usefulness and quality. Credit reports are no longer available on the app, and the interface is useless and clunky - it’s like going back to a flip phone for texting. Will not let me verify my identity or view my alerts without signing into the web browser to view or will not allow me to do similar things that can be done on a web browser, which I think I should be able to have at my fingertips paying $30 a month… Also, one of my accounts that was recently compromised will not link. Again, I just might keep this for this month, cancel and find another… ### 1/5 — Sends Users to the Web *2021-07-03, version 2.6.10* I got an alert of a new account. Thank goodness I knew what it was as I’m on vacation with just my phone and the app won’t give me details. It gave me a message saying for details go to the web site. I can do it but looking at. Full site on my phone is ridiculous and an app is perfectly capable of giving me account details. This may be the final straw for Identity Guard. They already changed my plan to less service and a higher price. It’s 2021! Get your app and service up to speed. ### 1/5 — Cant find my credit report *2021-06-09, version 2.6.10* I’ve been an identity guard subscriber for over a decade and this new app is terrible! I can’t find my credit report. I basically can’t access anything I need and have to log on from a computer. ### 1/5 — No scores *2021-06-07, version 2.6.10* Back when the app showed your score I could get some use from it. Now, it shows a risk score, which for me is pointless. I just confirmed with their customer service that the app cannot show this information any longer. I used this service for 6 years, and when I couldn’t login I called in and they introduced me to the “new app”. The app info in the App Store shows that you can view your credit score yet the actual app doesn’t show it at all. Terrible upgrade! It does nothing but make you log onto their website, which is not very mobile friendly. Can’t open at all. The developers tell you to download a new app, but that one doesn’t give you all the credit agency results. Only one. Is the most user-friendly app? Not exactly but it worked. In the last two weeks. I’m getting error messages and cannot sign in to the app - with my password or face ID. The web version allows you to sign in, and Identity Guard is boasting of their new interface. It leads me to believe have abandoned the app. I will begin shopping other identity protection services. All I get is a message about an unknow error. My credentials work find via the website. I thought maybe I needed the new aura app, but my credentials don’t work there either. Seems like a busted app. ### 1/5 — Terrible service!! *2022-08-21, version 2.6.10* Bought this service for my wife and I. Terrible service. They have you do all the leg work when you call with issues. The deleted a property I own and kept one against my calls that I haven’t owned for 8 years!!! Just says that “an unknown error has occurred, please try again later.” I can login via browser, but the app is worthless. Also, it doesn’t work. It asks for user to Verify Identity and when you try, it throws an error message. What data is shown makes no sense. Such a shock considering the desktop app looks and works pretty good. If LifeLock wasn’t such a bunch of jerks with terrible Mumbai Tech Support, I might go back there. ### 1/5 — Bad Enough to Change Service *2022-03-20, version 2.6.10* This app is bad enough to change services. There is nothing convenient about it. Keeps giving me a ‘verify your identity’ banner, but get an error message when selecting it. Can do nothing productive on the app, have to go to the website — pretty much useless, a non-app, app! ### 1/5 — This has to be a Joke *2022-01-17, version 2.6.10* Downloaded the app with hope for a great user experience but unfortunately not so. Apparently the app cannot process its requested identity verification so it locks your account for 72 hours. Looked at reviews to maybe cut the company a break if a recent app issue but seems users have been complaining about same issue for almost a year. Strongly reconsidering whether I want to give my personal information to a company that can’t address an absolute must …. a functional app. ### 1/5 — Crashes *2021-11-13, version 2.6.10* When you try to verify your identity, the app crashes. I waited a month tried it again it did the same thing. I sent an email about the problem, never heard back. This is a crappy app. That is the truth. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Good so far *2021-02-06, version 2.6.10* Downloaded App thinking it will shortly be deleted after reading all the reviews but to my surprise it all works fine. Maybe a recent update fixed the issues others had issues with. ### 5/5 — Easy to use. *2020-09-17, version 2.6.8* I’ve loved the app so far (about 2 months in). I love that I get pretty instant notifications whenever my credit is ran or a new threat is detected. Other reviews have mentioned fake alerts but I’ve yet to experience anything like that. I’m loving the app. ### 5/5 — Thank you *2020-09-06, version 2.6.8* I joined after someone used my identity to get government money and decided to take out hefty loans in my name. After joining, it happened again. But this time I was alerted and able to stop everything in its tracks. Additionally after a family member had their possessions stolen the company immediately set up a freeze, placed a fraud alert and made any and all phone calls to bureaus and credit companies. They called back hours later reporting that they had completed all calls on our behalf. And they did. !!! As for credit reporting, their credit score is within 1 point of the credit companies. And it’s given monthly. I didn’t join Lifelock because a family plan would have run us over $700 per year. I have been pleased with this company thus far. The app has also worked quite well. I have been reading reviews but have to say that I haven’t run into any of the issues listed. For family plans I recommend Identity Guard. However it doesn’t have one main feature that I’m concerned about and that is the CREDIT SCORE. Maybe there’s a glitch but mine doesn’t show the vantage score. It just shows risk management score. The mobile web site is fine. Why not just make the app the same. When I signed up I entered all my bank accounts and credit card details for monitoring but they were then all mysteriously deleted.
