Well, as suspected, I am unable to scan my passport because it was issued pre-2024. Holding the phone over the back cover does absolutely nothing except increase the phone holder’s blood pressure. I downloaded the app against my better judgement as I wanted to join the new Canadian social media app Gander, however I have had to give up that dream.
