## What is iDiecast?

iDiecast is a place to keep your diecast collection in order — what you own, what you're hunting, and what's paid for and still in the mail.

Buy it once. No subscription. No account needed, and no server: your collection is yours, on your phone.

YOUR COLLECTION
Add a model in seconds with a photo, or scan the barcode and let iDiecast fill in the details. Record the scale, brand, series, condition, what you paid and what it's worth now. Add your own notes on where you found it and why it matters. Search and filter your way — by brand, scale, series, condition, or anything you've tagged.

YOUR WISHLIST
Keep the models you're still chasing in one list, so you know what you're looking for before you walk into a shop or a show — and so you stop buying the same casting twice.

YOUR ORDERS
The part no other collection app handles. Log what you've ordered, what you paid, where it shipped from, and the tracking number. See everything that's still on its way in one place, and move it into your collection the day it lands.

WHAT IT'S WORTH
Track what you paid against what your collection is worth, with a running total and a breakdown by brand and scale. Prices are recorded in whatever currency you bought in — iDiecast converts using the rate from the day of the purchase, not today's.

IT'S YOUR DATA
Your collection is stored on your iPhone. There's no iDiecast account server and nothing is uploaded to us. Turn on iCloud backup and a copy is kept in your own iCloud account, ready to restore on a new phone. Export the whole thing to CSV whenever you want, and back it up to a file you control. If you already keep a spreadsheet, import it and pick up where you left off.

SIGNING IN IS OPTIONAL
Sign in with Apple or an email address if you want a profile — but every collection feature works without one. No wall, no sign-up to get started.

FREE AND PRO
Free includes everything: collection, wishlist, orders, barcode scanning, photos, currency conversion, iCloud backup and export. Free covers 50 owned or ordered models, plus 250 wishlist entries.

PRO is a one-time purchase that removes the limits and adds CSV import. There is no subscription, no trial and no recurring charge — you buy it once and it's yours.

Built in Canada by a collector who got tired of spreadsheets.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-24

Improved
• iPhone Duo support: the collection grid adapts to the available space, and model photos and details stay clear of the fold.
• Model photos stay fully visible, with photos and details side by side in wider windows.
• Barcode entry and model editing work better in landscape and with larger text.
• Garage and Insights make better use of larger displays.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-05

New
• Add several models in a row with Save & add another. Your last model manufacturer, scale and collection are remembered, while photos and prices start fresh.
• See possible matches in your collection, wishlist and active orders before saving. Variations and extra copies are still welcome.
• Share a car card with a photo and model details. Prices stay hidden unless you choose to include an estimated value.

Improved
• Optional condition, release details and notes are grouped under Show more details when adding a model.
• Help and the Privacy Policy explain car cards and what is included when sharing.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-03

New
• Value check. Insights now shows which models have no value, an unconfirmed currency, or a value you haven't checked in 90 days. Step through them one at a time, look up recent eBay sales, and set each value in a tap: use the middle of your saved sales, keep what you have, or skip.
• Swipe back from the left edge to return to the tab you were just on.

Improved
• Set an estimated value directly from your saved sold prices while researching a model.
• Confirm the currency of an older estimated value without changing its amount.
• Help now shows the same version number as the App Store.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-29

Improved
- iCloud backup now holds on to your largest earlier backup whenever your collection gets smaller, so an accidental delete or a mistaken import can't push out your good copy.
- The Terms and Privacy Policy inside the app now match the ones on idiecast.ca, including how iCloud backup and crash reports work.

Removed
- The profile preview in Account settings. It was never shared anywhere, and there is no community feature in the app yet.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-29

No release notes.
