I have gotten to modernization 900% but can’t get past wind energy. The art style is nice and so is the concept. But the ads made me stop playing the game within 10 minutes. There are WAY too many ads, I’m talking one every 45 seconds, you can’t even focus on the game. This game has potential, and I would’ve been in it for the long haul. But the ads completely messed that up. It’s just disappointing. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind constant ads, have at it. But if you’re 98% of the population and you hate having constant ads, just don’t bother downloading it. Ya fudged up a good game man, tsk. 😕 **Developer response:** Hello! You have the option to make in-game purchases and stop advertising 🙂 Have a good game! ### 1/5 — New Mandatory Ads Have Ruined the Game *2021-06-26, version 4.27* I used to really like this game, play it all the time and actually chose to watch ads for certain bonuses. The new mandatory ads added during a recent update, which launch ridiculously frequently, have completely ruined Eco Clicker for me. Give me a call if you ever see the error of your ways. Until then, I’m reluctantly uninstalling. ### 1/5 — Unsolicited Ads *2021-06-11, version 4.27* I initially enjoyed the game then it started randomly making me sit through ads with no warning. I don’t mind watching ads to help me advance but when they are shoved in your face with no warning it’s an automatic 1 star review from me! ### 2/5 — Ads *2020-11-01, version 3.35* The game itself is fine but seriously I’m so sick of seeing political ads. Every single one is a political ad! It clearly shows who you favor. I would like to enjoy playing a game without having to deal with politics. ### 3/5 — Almost too grindy *2021-05-29, version 3.99* It was fun when I started but the longer you play the less you actually get to play because everything take way too long. ### 3/5 — The devs let ads override mute *2021-05-24, version 3.99* Aside from the complaint I’ve listed below, this game also has a tree that grows diamonds that you have to tap repeatedly before they’ll actually get tapped. It’s really obnoxious because they grow pretty often and you need diamonds, but you can’t reliably tap them to get them. Trust me - I tried to find a method to the madness but there is no “tap zone” that works consistently. This is a poorly programmed game. That being said - the artwork and animation is very well done, and it is still a fun game to play. It has a long way to go, and the developers need to exercise a little more respect for user experience. Other than that, though, it is genuinely a good game that requires strategy, patience, and decision-making - which is actually really nice. I’m upping this from 2 stars to 3 stars (not that anyone cares, lol) because the quality of everything that isn’t screwed up is top-notch. ———— Original complaint ———- The people that developed this game allow their ads to override the mute button on the iPhone. It will also override anything you’re listening to - so basically, you can’t play this game properly without listening to some music or an audiobook. I’m so sick of apps that do this that I’ve finally decided to start giving them bad reviews to warn the rest of you. Maybe if enough people complain they’ll stop thinking it’s okay to ignore the mute button. I’m honestly sick of it. ### 3/5 — Good but bugged *2021-04-22, version 3.99* The game is good but I frequently get bugs where the amount of time I was gone wasn’t calculated correctly. I’ll be gone for hours with the app closed and when I reopen it, it tells me it’s been 0 hours, 19 minutes. Weirdly with this glitch it only counts in increments of 19. ### 3/5 — Has gone downhill slightly *2021-03-24, version 3.99* They recently reworked the Modernization mechanic and it now takes significant longer to make progress. I have been casually playing for months and have not even cleared the third screen, now they’ve added a fourth. Either they need to go back to the old system or make it so that you get more points more quickly. There are also issues where eco boost will disappear if you exit/close the app, and it does not always track away time appropriately. ### 3/5 — Earn while away?? *2021-03-09, version 3.71* Not earning while away from the game.
