Being able to us your smart phone to connect the camera or control your document camera would have many uses as a teacher. The app downloaded easily, the functionality was nearly identical to iPEVO4 camera sitting on my desk top. All other functions, including connectivity to my school’s network were “pay-only” features. This brings me to my 2 - star rating, without enough (any) features to test out, I will not be purchasing this app. Signed, 5th Grade Teacher ### 2/5 — Was working until... *2020-09-28, version 3.0.1* This was great until this month. I am a teacher using for recording lessons. When my subscription renewed in Sept 2020, it started putting black rectangle in upper right corner when zooming in. I bought the lifetime app for $19.99 then thinking there was something glitchy happening with subscription renewal process, but ugly rectangle is still there. I reached out to Impevo customer support but have had no response. I’m out more money, lots of wasted time, and I can’t zoom in anymore and see the whole screen. Please fix this and contact me! ### 2/5 — Ugh the lag time *2020-09-02, version 3.0.1* I downloaded the app but it lags about 5-10 seconds on average. I am changing to a more reliable app. Hopefully it’s out there ### 2/5 — Easy come easy go *2020-08-07, version 3.0.0* Was using this app, along with visualizer, up until yesterday when the update occurred. Now it will synch, but very staticky picture. All my devices are new, so it couldn’t be the fact that they are outdated. Really bummed because now I have to rearrange all my teaching. Wish it would work because it was a wonderful teacher tool for those of us who cannot afford doc cameras. ### 2/5 — Bummed *2020-05-12, version 2.2* I have been using this app since we had to teach from home. At first I would have given it a 5star rating. It was easy to use and connect to my computer and present lessons in Google Meet. Today I had a lesson planned on converting metric units of length and had to end the lesson because it would not work on my phone. I paid $19.99 and then paid $9.99 for the year. Still nothing. It tells me to allow my camera and when I click on setting it does not give me an option to allow my camera. Now the google extension will not work either when I am in a meeting. So I am bummed that I just paid $30 for nothing. ### 1/5 — Subscription issues *2020-05-05, version 2.2* Like Amy, who did the previous review, I am a SPED teacher and was using this doc cam app to teach Algebra. I ran into the same problems last Friday when the free trial ended. I kept getting an error message. I was going to subscribe for $9.99, but it would not accept it. The only way for me to get the app back was to pay for $19.99 at the App Store. I needed to teach a class so I ended up purchasing it for that price. How do I get a refund? ### 1/5 — Sound is so off *2020-05-05, version 2.2* I just paid for a subscription to this app today and after recording my lesson twice I still cannot use it. Was 5 stars until this happened! *2020-05-04, version 2.1* I have been using this app for last several weeks as I am a special education teacher who has to use direct instruction curriculum with my students. I went to run class sessions today and much to my surprise the app is NOT working! Tried to pay for a month of service and it keeps giving me an error message, very frustrating to say the least. I had to end one students session early and will likely have to cancel my next session due to this issue. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! ### 1/5 — Not working *2020-05-01, version 2.1* It was great when it was free, but now that they have monetised the app, it just gives error messages. Trying to subscribe to a plan and keep getting error reports. Frustrating when you are willing and trying to pay to use and app you really like and it won’t accept the payment. I used this app for one day and it was great. Today, it won’t open unless I pay for a subscription, and I’m happy buy it for a couple of months for school, but the app keeps giving me an error message. The following day it will work. It is so iffy, I can not rely on it. I sent an email a week ago and have heard no response from customer service. This morning I tried again and the app asked me for a password. I NEVER had nor have I set up a password to begin with. How did that happen?! I tried Logging in again later in the day and the app on the computer will not recognize the iDocCam app on my phone. Nothing changed from 2weeks ago till now. This is not the first time either. It will capture pictures just fine, but I want to use it for a document camera. The video kept turning green and/or freeze. I emailed them with the problems I was having and I got a response in less than a day. I followed what they said and wow I am so happy now! Works great! Exactly what I needed for my virtual lessons. They even emailed me to follow up and make sure the problem was fixed. ### 5/5 — Great app for remote teaching *2020-08-29, version 3.0.1* This app is great. It gives me all of the functionality of document and eliminates the need to buy another device. I can now record whiteboard videos and demonstrate other hands on activities to my students. WoW! Thanks IPEVO ### 3/5 — I’d like to connect IPEVO VZ-R to the iPad Pro *2021-02-10, version 3.3.0* I’ve got an iPad. I was hoping to find a solution to connect the IPEVO VZ-R (wired, USB-C connection) to the software. I launch it in the iPad and I only have the integrated iPad cameras to choose from. I don’t have a laptop, so I’d love to have an option for sharing an overhead view with my awesome IPEVO VZ-R while not in the studio while on zoom/google meet. Ideally I would screen share to the iDocCam software and the app would be able to detect the connected IPEVO camera. Any thoughts on how to make that happen? It’s great software otherwise. I’m enjoying it! ### 3/5 — Was loving it until the latest update *2020-08-05, version 3.0.0* As someone who is providing speech therapy via online this app was invaluable....until the latest update. Now it freezes all the time and I’m unable to get it to even show up on the screen to start a session. Updated 8/4/20: All is up to date and have contacted customer support.
