I bought this app expecting it to automatically upload my photos in the background. I’ve enabled everything, background processing, full photo access, all permissions, yet it simply does not work as advertised. If I don’t manually open the app and keep it running on the screen, nothing uploads. The moment the app is closed or sent to the background, uploads stop. This defeats the entire purpose of a photo backup app. Having to constantly open the app and leave it running just to back up photos is extremely frustrating and impractical. It feels like either an inherent bug or a fundamental limitation that isn’t clearly disclosed. It doesn’t do as much as syncing to iCloud so seems to be limited in that sense and also only shows photos backed up from your phone, so if you have photos backed up from your computer you cannot see them. This means it also has less functionality than Google and Amazon photos which come in at the same price. Both this app and their photos app are so badly designed that no one should use it. If you use their IDrive Online to backup your photos you cannot share them, if you use this app to backup your photos and remove one from their Web-based interface it DELETES the original photo from your phone. This is no better than the garbage that Apple does with iCloud. I strongly urge you to use Google Photos or Amazon Photos to backup your photos, neither of which delete your personal property when items are removed from the cloud. ### 1/5 — Something is wring with the app *2025-01-17* This app is taking forever to upload pictures & video, both on wifi as well as 5G. It has been a lifesaver for me when it comes to backing up all my important files. I've been using it on my iPhone 14 max pro, the new Motorola flip Razor, and even my iMac with no issues. Sure, the interface could use a little sprucing up, but for the price, it does exactly what I need it to do. Before getting IDrive, I had invested in a 6tb external storage device. Luckily, IDrive was able to back up all my files from that device because it's now unrecoverable. That alone makes me a happy customer. Plus, it's more budget-friendly compared to other backup services I've looked into. Overall, I'd definitely recommend IDrive to any fellow college students looking for a reliable backup solution. ### 5/5 — Buen servicio pero sin desarrollar la app *2023-11-03, version 2.3.6* El espacio de almacenaje que ofrecen es uno de los mejores del mercado superando a Google Fotos o Microsoft OneDrive. El problema de este servicio es que no permite crear álbumes para agrupar fotos. Tampoco agrupa automáticamente rostros lo que dificulta mucho buscar fotos si dispones de muchas. Solo ordena por fechas. La búsqueda y organización de fotos es imposible.
