And the app itself is fine. I do not believe it impacted my reading of the manga, and while I thought the pages should have more of a stationary flip to them, I again enjoyed the manga. However, the fact that the reviews for the manga itself incorrectly assume the American team worked on it makes me feel like the app’s reviews are filled with bots/AI. They just took down these reviews, but that really doesn’t sit well for the other possible reviewers. Considering that this app makes it seem like it only has a single 5-star review, when that’s not the case. I don’t know how many underhand tactics they use to make their products seem better, but I hope these actions stop. They should really give you the option to leave your own reviews like how you would do for several other websites just to add the legitimacy towards not just the product, but the community surrounding it as well. ### 3/5 — Where is this subscription? *2026-06-20* I think it’s a pretty awesome app so far I believe that there should be a subscription button so we are able to come back to the app and support these comics similar to how these other apps like DC infinite and Marvel unlimited have older issues but still produce content on their app it would actually bring opportunity for IDW’s comics that have not been really looked at by other content consumers please add a subscription button to allow us to read. Please fix!! ### 2/5 — Fix your Junkie App *2025-07-08, version 6.1.0* When I try to find a specific issue which I have bought, the comics I scroll threw are in a random order and I’m often scrolling threw tons of them. Even searching the issue number gets me nothing. Sort the issues into folders or at least allow the user to do so. Also there have been an annoying amount of crashes and occasions where the next page will try to load but it stops on a black screen and I have to exit the reader and re-enter only to find the problem wasn’t fixed. This is annoying and unacceptable. I pay good money for these comics. Fix it! ### 2/5 — Glorified PDF reader, but bad *2025-05-22, version 6.1.0* 2 seems about right. There is nothing great about how it handles comics. No panel following, anything. But super annoying, no ability to read in landscape mode. That is just bad. After updating for supposed bug fixes today (11/25/24) the app just crashes in seconds. This company has had a janky almost unusable app for years now. Full stop. *2026-07-01* I had the app for a few years, and even “bought books” to read.. get a physical copy from Amazon for the same price. You “buy” a book on here, just for them to decide that you no longer get to read it, but they keep your money. I will NEVER download a comic book app again. As for IDW, I’ll find the books for free on a torrent site. I tried being honest, but they burned me on their end. But at such a basic level. It has next to zero features and chose the incredibly weird option of scrolling up or down to read a comic. There’s no panel reading options. If you accidentally tap the top or bottom of your phone or swipe a notification away you’ve lost your spot entirely. Exiting the reader doesn’t save your spot in the book. There’s no customization to the reading experience at all, you can’t wishlist or save books you want. It doesn’t group series together. There’s no real sort or filter function. So good luck trying to find similar titles in your library if you didn’t buy them in exact order. I’m just surprised that a company as big as IDW with so many IPs pushes this trash out when compared to other comic reading experiences. I did run into some technical issues with the app at first but the IDW Team has been actively working on improving and fixing issues and I'm impressed with their efforts and response times. It is a big transition moving away from comixology but I think with they will keep improving as fast as they can.
