### 3/5 — Great start!

*2012-03-08, version 1.1109*

Similar to the iCanEat app, but with broader cuisines rather than specific menus. It really helps you decide what you may have questions on before ordering. Looking forward to more updates!

### 1/5 — Too basic

*2012-01-24, version 1.1109*

This app is not very helpful unless you were JUST diagnosed with intolerances / allergies, and don't know anything. Very basic information. It also assumes all the chefs and wait staff speak perfect English. Most have English as a second or third language. Maybe worth .50c. WAY better and cheaper options available

### 3/5 — Only worth $3

*2011-07-22, version 1.1101*

Yes, you can choose 10 allergens, and in my case, I have chosen all 10. If the app would then remove the dishes containing these allergens and just leave me with a menu of dishes I can actually eat (I don't mind skipping over the meat-containing dishes myself, but it would be super-nice to have that added as an "allergen" for vegans), it would be worth $5. But as it works now, it's only worth $3 to me.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2011-05-29, version 1.1101*

I hope they update this app. So limited.

### 1/5 — Good concept, bad execution

*2011-05-20, version 1.1101*

The concept is good but the information is too limited to be regularly helpful. It needs much more content and examples to make this a useful app.

### 2/5 — Has potential

*2011-03-22, version 1.1101*

This sounded like a great App although really lacks enough meals on the menu to justify the cost and worthiness of using it.
As someone with Coelics disease I really need something like this, so please add more meals?

### 1/5 — Waste of $, generic

*2011-01-31, version 1.1101*

This gives you no specific restaurants, and is totally useless. $5 wasted.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2010-10-26, version 0*

A disappointing app. Not many menu items, and most contain generic warnings, such as "Check no wheat flour was used in this dish." Thanks for stating the obvious!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2010-05-04, version 0*

I got this app expecting information about dishes at different restaurants, but was very disappointed. This only provides you with obvious questions to ask about general ethnic dinning. No specifics are included what so ever. Do not waste money on this one!

### 1/5 — Bogus!!!

*2010-05-04, version 0*

A 5 star rating was displayed and almost everyone who got this app said it was worthless! I concur! Unfortunately, I read the product description and looked at the rating without reading the reviews. What a scam!!! I couldn't believe how incomplete this was.

### 2/5 — Waste

*2010-03-20, version 0*

This is a total waste of money!!! I just wasted $8.99, dumbest app I have ever seen, a monkey would be more help than this.

### 2/5 — Not really worth it

*2010-02-08, version 0*

Not really worth the $.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2024-09-08, version 1.161024*

This app doesn’t give a list of restaurants. Instead it’s just info you can easily google.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly and info is weak

*2023-02-20, version 1.161024*

I thought this would allow me to find safe food while traveling. Got it based on a recommendation in an article about traveling with food allergies. Info is general, not specific to a particular restaurant, and so only marginally helpful in that it’s a “dish may contain or will contain” a certain item, still putting the burden on the person to question a server or chef extensively.

Another incredibly annoying thing is that it crashes every time I switch tabs, making this app essentially unusable.

I regret purchasing this app and wish I could return it and get my money refunded.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2022-12-10, version 1.161024*

Looks like this app was just thrown together. It looks like it was made in the 90s. It has barely any information on it. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Misleading description

*2022-01-28, version 1.161024*

It tells you common sense what you can and can’t eat non specific to any restaurant . You can easily google this info without paying. Scam app

### 1/5 — Do not waste your money!

*2020-09-05, version 1.161024*

Absolute waste of money, completely different to what it indicates the app would be, no use what so ever, do not purchase! Would give 0 stars if I could

### 1/5 — wasted my money

*2019-06-02, version 1.161024*

This app only shows you the restaurants that you can eat at. it doesn’t tell you what dishes you can eat at the restaurant. For $3 not worth it at all.

### 1/5 — Shuts down unexpectedly

*2016-10-18, version 1.151115*

Opened the app and started to use it - it shut down unexpectedly several times in the first couple of minutes. Even when you can get to the very limited information it isn't particularly useful and is at least a year out of date. Sounded very promising for food intolerances and celiac but very disappointed at what was there...

### 1/5 — Hardly any info - crashes often

*2016-09-14, version 1.151115*

This app is NOT WORTH $4.99! Do not buy it. There are only 6 cuisines to choose from and the app crashes constantly. I would thoroughly enjoy my money back.

### 1/5 — Wasted money

*2013-02-02, version 1.1208*

No help whatsoever nothing I didn't already know!

### 1/5 — Pretty useless

*2012-08-20, version 1.1208*

This is pretty much a waste of money unless you happen to want something on the few "sample" menus included - pretty unlikely i'd say. No dictionary of common terms, no translation of I have a xxxx alergy. Feel conned to be honest.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love that you can customize it

*2019-07-22, version 1.161024*

Able to customize it to all three of my allergens which I’ve never seen before, very helpful

### 5/5 — Great for traveling and every day use

*2019-07-18, version 1.161024*

Great for eating at any restaurant no matter where you are, I use this everywhere I go!

### 5/5 — Great tool!!!

*2012-09-08, version 1.1208*

With 10 allergens and multiple cuisines, this app is a must have. I now eat out at any restaurant I please with this at my fingertips.

### 5/5 — So glad I bought this app!

*2011-05-18, version 1.1101*

This app was recommended by a friend in my celiac support group but after reading the reviews I almost didn't buy it. Now I am soooo glad I did!! It tells you how meals are made and how to ask about gluten concerns in ways restaurants can understand. Truly an amazing app - thank you for making it so much simpler!

### 5/5 — Great addition to book

*2009-07-31, version 0*

I have the book and love it. It is great to have it in a form I can carry around easily. Extremely detailed information. I like that I can customize to my specific food allergies.

Definitely recommend it!

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-10-05, version 1.161024*

I have suffered a lot of allergic reactions and I don’t want to have one again so I got this app and it is great

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2013-06-24, version 1.1304*

Anything is worth $3 if it will help discern which to-go places have allergy-sensitive options

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2012-01-14, version 1.1109*

We just learned a lot about the hidden ways allergens are in our food. Gives you great questions to ask when eating out. The app is well designed and pretty comprehensive. Well worth the $5.

### 4/5 — The app of my dreams

*2010-10-03, version 0*

I'll give it 5 stars when they add more food additives

### 4/5 — I Eat Out is a great idea!

*2009-07-31, version 0*

I currently have the book and mini wallet sized paperbacks. This is a much faster way to figure out what to order. My only criticism is that there is currently only one dish that is gluten, wheat, and corn free. I think that folks should support this app and hopefully in time the menu options will grow. Thanks Kim for another great product. Although it won't help me much with my son's corn allergy/celiac, I will use it every time I dine out. I haven't been to an indian restaurant in years but will now with the help of this app.
