So I thought "text editor". Simple, quick, what could go wrong? Not a flaw as such, but you definitely need an external keyboard for this app. I got nowhere trying to use the on-screen keyboard on my iPad. First flaw: too little basic functionality. You cannot even change a file name. I would definitely want to see a "search in file" function. Second, but significant, flaw: it is unstable. Once a text file gets to a hundred lines or so, popping out to another app, usually to look something up or copy some information results in errant behaviour. On returning the file doesn't scroll properly and you have to use the "change icon bar down arrow" to get it to work normally again. As this app doesn't support split screen mode, it is necessary to do this a lot if doing research in a web browser. Then, when the file gets even bigger, the app crashes for no reason. It auto saves frequently, so I have lost little work this way, but it is still very poor. Text editors should be amongst the most simple, and therefore stable, apps there are. ### 1/5 — Uninstalled. *2016-05-13* I've been using this app for nearly 3yrs because it was my first non-free app. I'm sorry but I got fed up with all the bugs. I can't email source code which I need, and this app won't let me set up a source file in a language you don't approve. You don't do syntax help or huge features, so what is to disapprove? I replaced this app with a free one which I much prefer. ### 2/5 — Kinda crap, but still better than the rest. *2016-04-23, version 1.60* This app is kinda crap, but still better than any other iPhone text editor I've tried. There's no configuration options for line wrapping, fonts, line numbers, or other essentials. Syntax highlighting is rather basic and not configurable in the least. You're prompted to select a text encoding each and every time you open a document. This is incredibly annoying. No, the app does not remember the last selected encoding. To sum it all up: the app is woefully inadequate when compared to even the lost average text editor available on the desktop. However, it's still the best code editing app I've seen for iPhone. You swipe to delete and you confirm delete but the file will not be deleted. You select a number of files and try to delete but that will not function and no files are deleted. When you create a new file by clicking on "add a file" icon and then start typing, the Save button or Save As buttons do not show up. To only way to save a document is once you enter it is to put the file in "exit" mode by tapping the 'pen' icon at top right hand corner and then start typing and then tap save button. With the free version (advert based) you can save a file without having to put it in "edit" mode. Please fix these defective important features. ### 1/5 — Nul car inutilisable ! *2022-11-22* C’est toujours aussi nul et en plus ça ne gère pas l’encoche du haut de l’écran qui existe depuis au moins 2 ans. Cela permet d’écrire du texte et de le voir disparaître en haut de l’écran. Est-ce ce que l’application est compatible IOS 8 ? Pour ma part, j’utilise IOS 16 et je ne comprends pas pourquoi cette application est encore vendue car c’est une imposture ! Format not supported, even though it’s a text file. I had 2 incidents where all my files were erased from the app and I had to recreate them from scratch. ### 1/5 — bugsgalore *2018-04-07, version 3.10* SERIOUSLY buggy. eg can’t handle this kind of ‘apostrophe’ - seems to throw in correction which then prevents file from saving. Worse - no work round to save your work other than convert to crap pdf or jpg. That's saying a lot considering I've been working with editors for nearly four decades. I don't know where to begin but it seems to me that an editor should be simple. This one is anything but simple. What is more frustrating is that the complexity seems random rather than for a purpose.
