### 3/5 — Good for any electronic genre but no Ableton Link

*2024-08-03, version 1.1.6*

I dont care these are Gorillaz samples. I love ielectribe workflow and I can make any sample into electro/techno. I cannot believe Korg did not Ableton Link ... Bummer

### 3/5 — No Ableton Link.

*2022-09-21, version 1.1.6*

It needs an Ableton Link so you can sync with the metronome.

### 2/5 — Missing the keyboard and AUM or Gadget support

*2021-06-22, version 1.1.6*

Missing the keyboard and AUM or Gadget support

### 2/5 — There should be more

*2020-09-03, version 1.1.6*

When I saw the app I thought that it would have all the beats and sounds from a gorillaz song. Instead there were only a few beats and sounds and I don’t actually think that this was from gorillaz.

### 4/5 — NanoKontrol Studio

*2018-10-03, version 1.1.4*

Great and fun app. How about updating the app so the NanoKontrol Studio can be native also instead of just the NanoKontrol 2? Thank you!

### 4/5 — I have enjoyed noodling around with this app...

*2017-06-17, version 1.1.3*

Please update!

### 3/5 — Update

*2017-05-09, version 1.1.3*

Needs an update please

### 3/5 — "By far, one of the best"...

*2016-04-17, version 1.1.3*

Eh? See review below. Makes a colourful song and has some wonderful attributes. Quite expensive but if you want to write like Gorillaz then you're well catered for with this.

### 3/5 — iElectribe extension

*2015-01-11, version 1.1.3*

The price is perhaps on the steep side and you're stuck with the samples- many of which are admittedly useless unless you're trying to remix Gorillaz. But if you shorten up the samples and use a core midi compliant keyboard to enter midi notes it can be a lot of fun, despite the 64-note sequence limitation. Most of the samples though aren't uniform in pitch / key so it takes a bit of work to find cohesive samples from the offerings here. The grain effect is very good. I understand there is a copyright on use, but nothing I've made here has really been good enough to carry through to a final mix. I come back to this more than the regular iElectribe because of midi note entry. It would be nice to see better IAA integration, or audio bus input.

### 4/5 — Please update for ISO 8

*2014-09-24, version 1.1.2*

Great app. Use daily. Can't now. Sad.

### 3/5 — Nice app to do nothing with...

*2014-08-02, version 1.1.2*

.... But if you can't use anything in your own public tracks, what's the point?

I would rather have either an EA-1MkII emulation, or pay another $16.00 and have either an EMX or ESX...

### 2/5 — Audio copy does not work

*2013-12-30, version 1.1.2*

Cannot get audio copy to work with garageband

### 4/5 — A very fun time killer

*2013-08-14, version 1.1.2*

For $19.99 it's a fun little piece of software to play around with. Easy to learn and overall very fun.

### 3/5 — Big beats in a small box!

*2013-05-19, version 1.1.2*

Staggeringly good... I recently made some discoveries about just how much the stock sounds can be filtered and effected. I am thrilled about the rock solid chunky beats this beast can crank out. It's proper! Much preferred to the standard Electribe. Love the GUI great insight to Gorillaz world of song construction.

### 4/5 — Brill App

*2013-02-20, version 1.1.1*

Brill app! Love the whole idea of Gorillaz edition, and the app itself. Please add more songs please! Possibly older ones like Feel Good Inc.

### 2/5 — Cuts me off all the time!

*2013-01-30, version 1.1.1*

When I first installed this app, no problems. Now it cuts my music off real time recording! Like, it looks like it's recorded everything, but when I go to hear it, it's always unfinished.

### 4/5 — Needs to be updated

*2012-09-20, version 1.0.2*

It's recently starting to show bugs. It won't let me hit the play button when making something anymore. I can hit all the other buttons but play meaning I won't hear anything. I have had this app for a year now and it was done me wonders and is the reason I'm inspired to become a sound engineer so fix it and I'll give you 5 stars

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What’s the point of this?

*2024-06-21, version 1.1.6*

Kind of lame you can’t use this on KORG Gadget 3

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2016-12-12, version 1.1.3*

This is a toy, for one reason, you can not use it in your own songs (read the licence) buy the other Electribe instead.

### 1/5 — Where is Ableton Link Support?

*2016-02-16, version 1.1.3*

Why was this app not updated like all the other Korg apps? At least add Link support.

### 1/5 — Broken on ios8

*2014-10-01, version 1.1.2*

Won't startup on iOS8

### 1/5 — Just bought this super expensive app and it doesn't open.

*2014-09-27, version 1.1.2*

This app is advertised from inside korg gadget, and I have always wanted it, but could never warrant the stupidly expensive price, bought it, hasn't been updated for iOS 8. Korg if you are going to have some of the most expensive music apps on the store, keep them up to date!

### 1/5 — Needs an update!

*2014-09-24, version 1.1.2*

I can't get the app to run on my iPad Air running iOS 8!

### 1/5 — Does not work on iOS8

*2014-09-20*

Does not work on iOS8

### 1/5 — So limited

*2014-05-12, version 1.1.2*

The app is so limited, needs a bigger library with more sounds, like this you get bored in 2 days and everyone's loops sound the same.

Upgrade it please!

### 1/5 — Disappointment

*2012-04-14, version 1.0.2*

I love the Gorillaz, but this app has nothing very good to offer. It's not very user friendly and doesn't offer much but the music of the fall. I am not happy with this at all and I would very much appreciate a refund!! GarageBand is a much better choice.

### 1/5 — Waste of money!

*2011-05-03, version 1.0.0*

Like musicians don't get ripped off enough! I want my money back! I thought I'd get a sweet sampler to write beats with, and it's simply another bunch of overpriced major label hype. You cant make anything without getting ripped by royalties - period. This should be illegal - I'm contacting my lawyer.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — WONDERFUL.. Amazing app!

*2014-12-18, version 1.1.3*

This is by far one of the best Gorillaz apps ever! You can mix with the songs, play the tunes and save it. Honestly amazing app, good job!

### 5/5 — ...the 'B E T T E R' of the two... Ꮮ♡ᏙᎬ IT!!

*2014-11-24, version 1.1.3*

Being a 'zilla – fan' aswell as a fan of 'Music - Apps' [especially Korg's Apps] made this App pretty much impossible for me not-to-Ꮮ♡ᏙᎬ... The sounds are, as you would expect, amazing... the layout is quirky and fun... like an urbanely–pimped out version of the original. For me, personally, it's a 'must-have' App for my, ever-growing, music 'r e l a t e d' App collection.
......
.....
....but, c'mon... it's way past due an update. Do it!

### 5/5 — Great from HipHop to House

*2014-06-21, version 1.1.2*

This app is a great bargain compared to buying the actual drum machines- only limitation is your creativity-

### 5/5 — Korg rules!

*2012-12-19, version 1.1.0*

Korg is right on top of there apps, I have all the korg apps and they all will knock your socks of

Thank you for the audiobus update!

### 5/5 — iOS grows up!

*2012-12-19, version 1.1.0*

Korg have really put mobile music apps amongst the pigeons with their latest releases. AudioBus, background audio, virtual MIDI all gift-wrapped around some of the most powerful, fantastic sounding apps around. This is pure brilliance and I love it :-)

### 5/5 — I love it

*2011-11-30, version 1.0.2*

Yes get this if u know what's good for u the sound is great the look is nice and dirty and it sounds and feel soo good love it I am a music producer it's apart of my tools in the studio

### 5/5 — Electribe I gorilaz versions

*2011-11-05, version 1.0.2*

This ap is off the chain was worried about the 20 bucks but is well worth that and then some I am blown away by the sounds patterns and user interface kudos to korg

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2011-10-15, version 1.0.2*

Man, this app is addictive, where did all my time go. Don't mind the price it's a great drum machine and gives u an insight into how the Gorillaz can create their unique sounds.

Is there anyway the developers could help us tune the pitch for each selection? I want to write a fat bass line but it's too hard to slow down the tempo, record and pray the knob tweaks hit the right tune. Watching the preset tunes tweak perfect notes when I can't is making me so upset.

Cheers for this great app, really made my iPad mean so much more to me. Precious!

### 5/5 — Great Sampler loaded up for Gorillaz Fanz! But we want to load our own samples too!

*2011-10-12, version 1.0.2*

Great idea by the Gorillaz and KORG. More bands should do this...

All the KORG apps are excellent! But we'd really like an iESX, or even an iES1
- whatever you'd want to call a similar app that would let us load in our OWN samples.

I'm still using my hardware ESX to this day, terrific machine.

### 5/5 — Fantastic.

*2011-06-26, version 1.0.1*

To be able to see into the construction of many of the core beat patterns and rhythms that form the backbone of 'The Fall' and be able to deconstruct, copy them and then form your own patterns from what you learn and do all of this on a handheld pad anywhere you want, is still hard to believe. Gorrillaz 'The Fall' is a landmark event it changes things in much the same way as the IPad hardware does. Korg are also at the forefront with some of the best music making apps in the world, the IElectribe being one of them. The triumvirate of talent here; Apple, Gorrillaz and Korg probably tell you all you need to know. This is such a great learning experience and an incredibly inventive fun way to create your own music with little previous musical knowledge.
