### 4/5 — This App Is....

*2023-07-29*

DECEMBER 2022 UPDATE: As of today, 1 December 2022, the app is no longer displaying any of the Shake Maps. Got a message saying something about the webpage partially being in an unreadable format. Please fix. REVISED UPDATE OCTOBER 2020: App has been fixed and is now apparently functioning normally. Thank you, developer! UPDATE OCTOBER 2020: App no longer works. When clicked on, it opens for a second and then immediately closes. Just started doing this today on October 19th, 2020. I use this app every day. Looks like the app hasn’t been updated in five years, so time is catching up. Please update it and make it useable again. UPDATE: February 1st, 2017: The app now crashes constantly when I try to open it on my iPhone 6s Plus. I turned off my phone and turned it back on, and the problem still persists. Not sure what's going on. I do know there was an iOS update a couple of days ago, so there must be a conflict. Can no longer use the app due to this constant crashing. Not Recommended at this point in time. UPDATE: The developer has fixed the app and republished it in the App Store as of June 20th, 2015. So glad to have it back! It is working fine now, and the USGS feeds have been restored. One thing that I wish the app would do is send a push notification whenever there is a quake in or near an area specified by the user. Other quake apps have that feature, and it seems like a basic feature any app should have. Really appreciate the developer fixing the app and making it as good as new again. However, I suggest that the developer send out some kind of notification to people who already own the app that he will be removing it from the app store for maintenance the next time the app breaks. When the app quit working and then simply vanished from the App Store a day or two later, it looked like the developer pulled the plug on the app and was no longer going to support it or offer it for purchase in the App Store. It seemed as if the app and the developer simply vanished into the night. *************** As of a few days ago around June 1, 2015, this app no longer receives any feeds from the USGS. When the app is open, the screen is just blank. The developer left a note in the app saying that he was looking into it, but that was a couple days ago. Looks like he hasn't updated the app since 2013 anyway, so it looks like the app has run its course and is now dead. Do not purchase. Extremely not recommended.

JULY 3023 UPDATE: App no longer opens. It opens for a second and then immediately closes. I deleted and reinstalled it but still had the same problem. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Issues

*2020-10-21*

My app kept crashing on me. Any thoughts??

### 3/5 — Not quite accurate

*2016-12-07*

I've noticed that the direction "from me" is wrong. It will say that the EQ happened NW from me, but when you expand the map it is clearly SW from me. There are other example too numerous to mention where this has happened. Fix this glitch and I would give this app five stars.

### 3/5 — The Perfect Earthquake App

*2014-11-22, version 2.4.1*

Danny! Please update this application. There still isn't any other application on the App Store that functions as yours.

Please optimize for iOS 8 and new iPhones!
--------
Original Review:

There's simply no other earthquake application that compares with this on iOS currently. If you don't believe me, just download this and compare it to the rest.

While it does share many features available in other applications, the way they're implemented is unrivaled. The UI is near perfect in terms of ease and usability. For a while, the developer wasn't doing too great of a job with continuous support, but he's stepped up his game and deserves credit for recent updates!

Only two suggestions would be to add push notifications for earthquakes with custom settings and possible color scheme changes to make the UI feel a little more modern for the new iOS 7, that is without changing any of the current functionality.

Sorry for the rant, but bottom line is DOWNLOAD this app, it's a must!

### 4/5 — Love this app

*2014-04-21, version 2.4.1*

It does crash from time to time but when it works it's great.

### 4/5 — Love the app

*2014-03-30, version 2.4.1*

I love this app, it does almost everything I want it to do, the only thing it's missing is a radius area where a quake would be felt. iOS doesn't seem to have any that do this. It's the only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating.

### 2/5 — Notifications PLEASE!

*2014-03-29, version 2.4.1*

Why STILL no notifications!!! How hard would that be??? Seriously?!!

### 2/5 — What happened?

*2014-03-18, version 2.4.1*

Used to be my go to earthquake app living in CA but now it just crashes constantly. Sad

### 5/5 — Great value---Well thought out!!!!

*2014-01-26, version 2.4.1*

Great color, graphics, features and maps with enough detail to keep you well informed. I would pay double for this app. A true steal.

### 3/5 — Isabel

*2014-01-16, version 2.4.1*

This app was working fine for a long time. Now, suddenly today it starts crashing when I open it. I really like this app. Help!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2014-01-16, version 2.4.1*

This app updates almost immediately and is extremely easy-to-use. I love it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Problem, service

*2020-10-20*

For the past 3 days a it’s not working. What gives?
Get it fix or it’s gone. Yep gone.

### 1/5 — PLEASE UPDATE!

*2020-10-19*

Please update that the app it is out of date and it is starting to crash. One star for now. This app is very useful here in Alaska. Also change from kilometers to miles please on the main screen view or have the choice to change it. I have it set to miles in the settings and it still shows kilometers. PLEASE UPDATE!! It’s been 5 years now come on!!!

### 1/5 — Was great...

*2015-06-05, version 2.4.1*

No longer receives information from USGS - WAS a great app. Now, it just takes up space...

### 1/5 — Aftershock

*2014-03-27, version 2.4.1*

Worked brilliantly and flawlessly when first downloaded, but has crashed ever since, every time it's launched. Have followed the "fix" instructions in the app's notes, and have even deleted the app and reinstalled it several times -- no luck. Still crashes every time it's launched. Useless and frustrating; deleted it and went with another, WORKING app.

### 1/5 — Always crashes....

*2014-02-03, version 2.4.1*

Use to work fine now all it does is crashes.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2013-05-20, version 2.3.0*

Newest update launches and crashes 2 seconds after. Please fix.

### 1/5 — Needs Notifications

*2013-05-18, version 2.3.0*

Update: new version is suppose to fix the absent data prob. I can't tell - it crashes as soon as it opens. Shame!

Would b complete app if it had notification (iOS Notification and/or text msg). I have locations set for Home, Son, and Daughter - I'd like to b notified of any quakes in those locations and not have to do a search of entire US.

### 1/5 — Waste of money - doesn't show many quakes

*2010-09-06, version 0*

Hasn't shown any of the earthquakes we've had in the last 48 hours under 5.

Doesn't seem to have much info about the current quakes in NZ and San fran etc are fixed in the menu bar - why would I want that?

Now to try and find out how to get a refund!

### 2/5 — Slow to update

*2024-01-25*

By far the slowest app to update with earthquake information.

### 2/5 — No Notifications? Plus last update = 2013

*2015-05-03, version 2.4.1*

Decent earthquake app but missing support for notifications - look at this app's competitors. They ALL have support for notifications.

Of course, this app hasn't been updated since 2013 so maybe the dev has just checked out.

Either way, best to spend your hard earned $$$ on a product being actively developed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app but needs updates.

*2020-09-30*

Can you update the app to support the larger iPhone screens at a minimum???

### 5/5 — Nice User Interface

*2020-05-19, version 2.5.1*

Update: 5/19/20 - This app hasn’t been actively developed for about four years, but it is STILL the best earthquake app out there.

Of all the earthquake apps, this one (to me) has the nicest user interface. I like the built-in maps from Google, and I like the regions.

### 5/5 — No bumblin’ on the rumblin’

*2019-10-23*

The coolest and most accurate iTool to see what’s shakin’. What with the frickin’ fracking all over our continent and general unrest under the surface of our planet’s crust, this app may even be useful in determining where you’d want to hang yer hat—without having yer hat hit the floor.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2017-05-02*

Simple, to the point and quick to update. As soon as you feel an earthquake you can heck the app and see where it is in relation to you. Thank you :-)

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2016-11-03*

Have had this app for years. Got it for my first iPhone 3GS. It's still awesome!

### 5/5 — My go to shaker app!

*2015-10-07, version 2.5.1*

I'm in the North Bay Calif.
My earthquake sensitive back (go ahead and laugh) has been hurting for over a month now. Last time it hurt this bad was before the recent Napa quake (it quit hurting a week after the quake). Really, I'm a big skeptic about this back pain, but it doesn't hurt there for any other reason that I can figure out.
Anywho, I don't know it just might be a San Andreas kinda thing as much as it has been acting up.

### 5/5 — The Best App Ever 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

*2015-06-19, version 2.5.0*

I live and die for this app. I check it at least 2x day. I live on one of the main fault lines (Reno, NV) and my family lives in Los Angeles, CA. So we are always having some kind of action. This app is easy to read and easy to adjust settings. Thank you for bringing it back with improvements. Yay 😃😃😃

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2015-06-19, version 2.5.0*

A really useful app. Of interest to those of us tracking earthquake activity, or just interested in earthquakes.

### 5/5 — Fan

*2015-06-19, version 2.5.0*

This is the best quake app
There is . Great maps on top for us in California, find out right after it happens, and where

### 5/5 — One of my main screen apps

*2015-06-19, version 2.5.0*

I live in Alaska and this app is great. Have used it for a couple years now and when I had an issue fast response from developer. Great App.
