## What is iFire?

iFire shows your crew who is available right now, and makes booking on and off a single tap. Built by an on-call firefighter for on-call (retained) fire crews.

WHO'S AVAILABLE, AT A GLANCE
- A live crew list with everyone's status, rank and qualifications
- Cover bars for every role (officers, drivers, BA wearers and more) turn orange or red as cover drops
- Low crew alerts when your station falls below the levels you set

YOUR STATUS IN ONE TAP
- Available, delayed, unavailable, course or leave
- "Back at..." timers book you back on automatically
- Geofencing changes your status as you arrive at or leave the station*

PLAN AHEAD
- Book time off on the calendar - whole days, or from a start time to an end time - then change or cancel it any time
- Set your rota once, with shift hours if you work shifts: you're only unavailable while you're at work
- Set your day hour by hour: tap or drag the hours, then pick a status
- See the whole crew's day, with how many are available each hour

CALL-OUTS THAT GET THROUGH
- Mobilisation alerts that sound through silent mode and Do Not Disturb
- Answer "I'm responding" straight from the alert
- See who is responding and how far away they are

AND MORE
- Station chat, events and training
- Dark mode, set for the whole crew by your station or by you
- Sort the crew list your way, choose which view it opens on, and show ranks if you like
- Face ID / Touch ID app lock
- Contracted hours tracking*

### 5/5 — Perfect for on-call crews

*2025-09-27*

This app makes managing our station so much easier than relying on a chat group to organise everything. Loving the new responding feature! If you’re on-call then I can’t recommend this app enough 👍

### 4/5 — Good

*2025-08-16*

Decent enough app now -
It does freeze regularly but it’s easy enough to reset. Tech support was non existent when I was having difficulties with app - literally no response to queries…But since the last update it has been much improved -
The auto book on / off function is a bit erratic but overall it is now a really useful tool.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed review and for sticking with the app through its earlier challenges.

I sincerely apologize for the lack of response to your support queries - that's completely unacceptable and I understand how frustrating that must have been. This app has always been a passion project that I've developed entirely in my spare time with my own funding, which sometimes meant I couldn't provide the level of support users deserve.

I'm genuinely glad to hear the recent update has improved your experience! I've been able to dedicate more time to development recently, so you should continue to see improvements in stability and features going forward. I'm particularly focused on fixing the remaining issues like the erratic auto book on/off function you mentioned.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping me prioritize what to work on next. Thank you for your patience and for giving the app another chance.

Kind regards,
Graham

### 5/5 — Outstanding app

*2025-08-16*

This app is a perfect for the private/volunteer sector.
A great way to manage crew/events/incidents.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind review, lots more in development here! 👍

### 5/5 — ifire

*2025-04-17*

A brilliant app which makes it very easy for me to monitor crew levels anytime of the day.

**Developer response:** 👍

### 5/5 — IFire

*2025-04-17, version 4.24.1291*

Love this app, use it everyday

### 4/5 — NO IN-APP PURCHASES

*2024-09-11*

Great app! Only bad thing is that for the most important part of the app ( sending fire calls) cost money. Should def make free. But other that that great app👍👍

### 1/5 — App not working

*2023-12-14, version 4.0.12*

App freezes when you go to register. Absolute joke

### 2/5 — Used to be better.

*2023-08-19, version 4.0.12*

One of the main reasons we used this app was for the event planning section.
Since an update this has been removed and after several emails and being told it would be back soon, it’s still not there. Sadly this is the key feature for us and the app is no good to us without it.

### 1/5 — Cant even get registered

*2023-01-16*

Not sure if this app was abandoned or not but I cant even register. Entered my country and mobile number and it says code has been sent but not receiving any codes.

### 2/5 — Geofencing doesn’t work

*2022-11-23*

The geofencing feature was one of the main reasons our station decided to use this app and pay the premium subscription fee. Most of us have jobs that are several miles away from the station so our availability changes frequently, often several times a day.
As such, we have to manually reset our availability status several times a day and sometimes we forget, which makes the info on the app hard to rely on when a call comes in. Can you fix this please?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 5.0.13 — 2026-10-13

A big update, much of it from crews' feedback.

NEW
- Calendar: book time off for a day or a run of days, with start and end times if you need them, and tap anything under "Coming up" to cancel it or change it
- Set my rota: set your pattern once and the app follows it - with shift hours, so night and day shifts only book you off while you're at work
- A new Edit availability screen: your day in colour, tap or drag the hours, then pick a status
- A new Team screen: your status as a coloured pill, solid status icons, unavailable crew dimmed
- Dark mode across the whole app (Settings > Appearance: Light, Dark or Automatic), and your station can set the default
- Settings > Crew list: sort by rank, availability or name, show ranks, and choose which view the list opens on
- Your next planned change is shown under your status
- The Overview shows how many are available each hour
- Answer a call-out straight from the notification: responding, delayed or not responding
- Auto book-off: say how long you're available for and the app books you off on time
- Quiet alerts when you're booked off (optional)
- Your station's own logo in the app
- "Re-register this device" if alerts ever stop arriving

IMPROVED
- Picking your current status again clears an old "until" time
- One set of status icons everywhere
- Faster, clearer status picker and booking screens
- Lots of smaller fixes and tidying
