### 4/5 — Good Flight Planner

*2023-07-31, version 4.5.82*

A good flight planner. It would be great if it had a flight profile view. I use it before every cross-country.

### 5/5 — Powerful and affordable aviation app

*2023-04-24*

Pros: All the essential pre-flight, flight, and post-flight functions in a very affordable application. The pre-flight planning and filing are both simple to understand for pilots and robust in depth for professionals. The inflight functions are top of the line when paired with an external GPS/ADS-B (I especially like the historical flight track for evaluating ground reference maneuvers). The post-flight logging is also very useful for easily recording logbook information immediately after a flight as well as having a basic reminder on proficiency (love the custom log entries sections, I fly a lot of different aircraft).

Cons: As with any specialized application, it takes some initial use and experience to learn the finer points of the app beyond the basics. That however is dependent on your use the website, iPad, or iPhone versions of the application. I feel the website is the best for pre-flight planning (I haven’t figured out how to tie flights together in the app like I do on the website). The external GPS/ADS-B is a con in that you must be aware some of them are proprietary (i.e. they only work with ForeFlight), so be careful if you do buy one to work with this app.

Summary: Overall this has been a great purchase. It allows for more flexibility in my budget for some additional personal flying adventures. Having all the essentials with iFlightPlanner, I can focus more on aviating and less on admin.

As a multi-licensed CFII, recommend this application over others due to its balance between simple and complex functions, with an affordable work subsidy (e.g. copilot admin work the app does for you).

### 5/5 — Cheap way to fly & log

*2022-12-28, version 4.5.82*

I like the app, it has a great logbook as well which I use consistently. Includes a place to add route information so that you can see basically you did multiple legs and landed at different airports without having to start a new flight for short hops over to an airport that’s 10 miles away etc.
Cannot say the same thing about Log10 which is useless at that. (I get it that they want to have every flight to a different airport logged at a XC for Pt. 135 and/or 121 mins., but it’s still a pain.)

I see 172Capt said 10 years ago that it crashes a lot. Don’t find that true, but my iPad that is really old crashes a lot.

I also like the timer that can come up on the same page as the plate.

AND much cheaper than Foreflight!

### 5/5 — Excellent Value

*2022-02-12, version 4.5.82*

I used the free version of IFlight Planner when I fly my Kitfox 3 from Seattle to Houston to Kitty Hawk and back to Seattle before the days of ADS-B. It was very adequate. Now in order to support ADS-B in, I subscribe. It is still a bargain. Customer support is superior to ANY product line inside or outside aviation. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. ### 5/5 — Best application for flight planning

*2021-11-25, version 4.5.81*

I have been using iFlightPlanner for YEARS, and I continue to love this application.

### 4/5 — Easy to use flight planning app

*2020-08-06, version 4.5.2*

The flight planning is easy to use. Developer quickly responded to an in app navigation issue on my older iPad 3. The updated version is now current. I look forward to further refinements of the app.

The forte of this app is that I can plan a flight on my PC using the desktop version of the program using the much larger screen and a keyboard. The saved flight plan is then available on my iPad where I can transfer the flight plan to Garmin Pilot for use in my airplane. This app is usable in the airplane, particularly for VFR flight. It needs further refinements to match the capabilities of Garmin Pilot and Foreflight for IFR flight use.

Where I will definitely use this app is on my older iPad3 which is too old for the other apps. iFlightPlanner on my iPad3 easily pairs with X-Plane 11 offering moving map display and approach charts for IFR practice flights on the simulator. For the modest cost of an annual basic iFlightPlanner subscription I’ve got a great use for my older iPad on the sim.

### 5/5 — Great App. Great Owners

*2019-05-04, version 3.3.1*

Very good competitor to any other aviation chart/logbook app.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2017-03-02, version 2.2.2*

This is in the top three flight apps imho! And #1 in customer service! A must have for pilots!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2017-02-07, version 2.2.2*

I really love using iFlight planner. I have been using it for several years now. There are features I love during planning and flight. Like being able to view my eta in flight so he can calculate when to start my decent by time. Planning is great. Don't like a leg, just click and drag.

### 5/5 — Actual IFR

*2017-01-12, version 2.2.2*

The app worked great for planning with my son on our trip from Northern Illinois to Southern Florida for his long IFR cross country training. On the way home we were able to track surface temps through ADS-B so that we didn't have to worry about icing while descending through clouds.

### 5/5 — Fantastic all-in-one flying app

*2016-04-03, version 2.2.2*

Just started using this app and I'm already impressed- has great charts, great download features, great weather info etc... I'm thinking that I agree with another comment that it is better than foreflight! Try it out.

### 5/5 — Very easy to use

*2016-02-04, version 2.2.2*

Been using this app for about three months. Very easy and intuitive in the aircraft. Customer support has been fantastic with any question asked or recommended enhancements .

### 5/5 — Wow...excellent app

*2015-12-28, version 2.2.2*

Such detail and directive makes this app a must have for all aviators. AFDs, Metars, tafs, sectionals, all in ONE app. No more giant posters on your lap when flying. This app is the future of aviation

### 5/5 — Recommend

*2015-12-03, version 2.2.2*

Flying single pilot a lot this is a must to have so much information available at all times like having someone flying with you at all times.

### 5/5 — Excellent Product

*2015-12-01, version 2.2.2*

All of the chart information is at your fingertips. This product is very intuitive.

### 5/5 — Great product, great support

*2014-11-22, version 2.2.2*

Ability to plan from web based version as well as iPad is very useful.

Sectionals are superb resolution. Originals from Government source. Uses vector technology that I believe is unique to these types of APs.

When I ask questions, responses are quite prompt and personal.

The advanced version georeferencing is excellent.

Highly recommend this product.

### 1/5 — Sorry, can’t buy it

*2026-05-05, version 4.7.010*

I like this app but is too expensive. Sorry about that. But I’m understanding too.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2020-08-31, version 4.5.2*

Doesn’t offer a basic version that is free, $50 a year is far too much for someone flying casually on a sim.

### 1/5 — Pilot

*2017-08-12, version 3.1.2*

Would like to sign up but cannot get into system, maybe that's telling me something?

### 1/5 — Cannot plan flight on iPad

*2012-12-16, version 1.0.6*

After downloading enough data to make this work...you can only actually plan a flight on a real computer and not on an iPad.. You can then sync to your pad but what good is that if you are mobile, have a change of flight plans ...They say in development. What a bad joke....

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2012-05-25, version 1.0.4*

This was a great app until the new version. It does not work anymore on my IPad 2. Every time I try to open the app it crashes. I can not even get to the home screen!

### 1/5 — Totally useless

*2012-03-04, version 1.0.3*

Why don't developers test their apps before releasing them??? This app pretty much crashes every single chance it gets. If you tap on an airport diagram, it'll crash. If you tap on weather info for a certain airport, it'll crash. I downloaded all airport diagrams for my selected airports in the states I wanted and some diagrams don't show up when you go to the airport info page. You can't actually use it for flight planning, yet, which is kind of ironic being that they're calling it iflightplanner. It seems this app was rushed out and I'm not sure why. It looks like it could have potential. But they can forget about competing with ForeFlight or even WingX (who seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth) with an app that behaves the way this one does...it's very frustrating...even for an initial release.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2012-02-23, version 1.0.3*

Pretty useless. Try it yourself.

### 1/5 — Very bad application

*2012-01-29*

Don't waste your time with this application if you want to plan your flight correctly.
I suggest Air Navigation Pro or ForeFlight.

### 1/5 — Poorest aviation app I ever encountered

*2012-01-25, version 1.0.1*

Why bother with a flight planning app when you can't plan a flight within the app. Plus I HATE ads!! At least state this in description so user be forewarned.

### 4/5 — I like it!

*2024-03-05, version 4.5.90*

Good quick planner!

### 5/5 — Great app and EFB

*2025-07-04, version 4.5.958*

Great flight planning app and EFB for me as a casual general aviation instrument rated pilot at an incredible value. I have reached out to them for support several times and was delighted with how quickly and attentively my concerns were addressed directly by iFlightplanner co-founder John Burnside.
