Solid app overall. Great to practice different scenarios if you have 5 minutes to kill. I would like to see ILS included in the simulator with a vertical aspect by adjusting descent rates.

Uses a 2-minute hold instead of the standard 1-minute. No option for user to change this setting - now fixed and uses 1 minute hold.

Works really well in teaching some of IFR concepts that can make use of a graphical app. My only issue has been with holding patterns. They teach and in the quiz ask for “inbound” heading while in govt exams and real life youre given a radial to work with which is the reciprocal. So inbound 90 (heading east to vor) is reall hold on the 270 radial.

Étudiant pilote de ligne je l’utilise pour revoir les bases et bosser sur des SID et des STAR réelles avec VOR/NDB. Je trouve cette appli sympathique pour revoir certaines bases IFR. Par contre au niveau du prix, 32 euros pour acheter tout le pack, une troisième aide à la navigation et un chronomètre intégré pour le holding aurait été l’idéal. Également il n’y a pas d explications sur les ARC DME alors qu’un exercice est proposé. On ce demande également si l’appli fait la différence entre une course et une radiale … Application un peu chère pour ce qu’elle propose mais permet de revoir la base de la base de la navigation IFR tout de même.

CFIIs,  this app rocks for holds, procedure turn, intercepts, DME arcs. VOR approach’s, missed approach,  The great part is this provides for am inexpensive trainer the student can practice with.

Very good in a lot of ways. Excellent in some. Not so in a few. Main gripe is the use of magenta in context of anything but GPS. Misleading. The other is that ADF has only a rotating compass card and the statement about it implies that there are no ADFs that aren’t overlaid on a heading indicator.

You get so far in then you get nagged to review the app! How about taking your nag screens and shove them! When I get to all the features THEN ask me for a review! Not 10 minutes into the software! If I could rate it lower I would!

Bought the app a few days ago to aid with my IFR training. For the price tag of USD38 this app doesn’t seem to offer much value. There are no instructions whatsoever on how to get the most out of it. And the HSI doesn’t simulate what’s used in flight. I’m struggling to get value out of it. Would like a refund!

If you're trying to learn holding patterns, save your $6 and try a different app. This one teaches only one weird method of determining the entry, although there are several widely-used methods. 

Worst of all, the app doesn't give you the ATC clearance like you will hear in flight. It gives you the inbound course - ATC will give you the radial to hold on, which is your outbound course. The pilot will need to determine the inbound course.

Absolutely overpriced and incomplete. Save your money and try the other app out there.

Thank you for your comment, although we do not feel your comment is justified. The instructions given by ATC for the holding entry point are not standardized in different countries around the world. What you have described is only one version. However, recognizing the shortcoming you pointed out, we have included the method you mentioned in the application, which you can now select in the "Settings" within the Holding instructor program.

When paying this amount of money for an app, you would expect a little more detail explanation, a little bit more satisfaction with the controls. All and all it has the feel like it was done by a very young inexperienced developer and when that is the case they shouldn’t charge so much money. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!

Ich habe die App jahrelang benutzt! Ich habe dafür sogar Geld bezahlt, um eben ILS VOR etc. benutzen zu können. Es hat jahrelang reibungslos funktioniert. 

Seit heute (15.02.2022) sind alle Funktionen deaktiviert und ich soll für das gleiche Leistungspaket nochmals zahlen!

Ganz billige Abzocke!!!!

IFR simulator crashes causing return to home screen with complete loss of the task being performed. Pretty useless considering even when it, occasionally, works for a whole task, you can’t go back and see the trace to know how you did.

Honestly, what is the point of the trace if you can’t hide the aircraft and then show the trace later?

I would like to request a refund.

Don’t hesitate to get and learn this app if you are seeking to be a proficient pilot.  The map page has been expanded to have a greater fidelity with the actual approach environment.  Improve your skills, use the app at anytime.  The time your spend understanding this app will be time well spent.

I am finding this app really helpful as I am doing my IR course now. However as we all fly different planes, the set 1.5deg p/s and 3deg p/s for rate one is only suited for planes that fly 100kt. As I fly 120kt in the holds it would be useful to have a setting to change the rate one turn, in my case it’s 21deg p/s. Allowing for different speeds and rate ones would then allow for correct WCAs. Would also be helpful to have a stopwatch in the trainer view and not only in the cockpit view. At the moment I’m having to switch quickly from one view to the other to manage the stopwatch which is not ideal.

This is my go to app for IFR instruction. I recommend it to all of my students. Practical review and practice of skills is key to retaining information and this app does a great job of helping to explain the concepts of the IFR world.
