The photo section should have larger capacity and upload count. Right now I can’t upload any pictures at all so needs fixing. Overall needs updating ### 2/5 — Does the minimum job *2025-04-23, version 1.3.7* This app does the absolute minimum. There are so many improvements that could be make like it should cycle through the clock to the pictures to the weather. Pull content from an RSS feed. ### 2/5 — Still a lot of room for improvement! *2024-06-03, version 1.3.1* Images added to the 'Album' are not cropped in the correct ratio, therefore parts of the images are always missing when displayed. Also, there is no animated transition feature during a slideshow, making it a less gratifying flow to look at. The screensaver feature works fine but the does not standout esthetically and look a little bit too plain. And it's all in the details. With the 80's flick clock for instance the seconds for some reason do not flip. Moreover, I see no added value to the illustration of the seconds. ### 1/5 — Downgraded my review to one star *2024-05-17, version 1.3.1* The charging device provided no longer puts out enough power to keep my iPad running and there is no obvious channel to get support. Waste of money, the old iPad is going back in the cupboard. ### 2/5 — Keeps crashing *2024-05-09, version 1.3.0* Keeps crashing when trying to upload photos from my iPhone 11 Pro to my iPad 2. Good concept but needs bug fixing. This has been a problem for several months without a fix. Where is the music function etc. most of the advertised functions are NOT available. Took ages to set all up - then you start adding media (can only add 9 photos at a time ??!) the pairing doesn’t work - I ended up with my ipad connected twice with different names with the charge guard linked to one and my phone to the other? Seriously slow All the error notifications are in Chinese .. which is pointless for the rest of the world Iframix - need to fix it ### 2/5 — Needs work *2024-03-07, version 1.2.8* I’ll repeat some of the other comments — user settings should be available to toggle the clock between 24/12 hour mode, and the temperature between C and F. City lookup should include the state in the location (“Los Angeles, CA United States” instead of “Los Angeles United States”). Setting up the photos for the album feature displays a screen in Chinese (which I took to be “download your cloud photos to the iPad’s local storage”?) There should be a way to blank the screen when you don’t need the app UI visible, such as at night. Poor app *2024-02-21, version 1.2.8* I love the idea behind iFramix and I write this negative review only hoping that providing a feedback will lead to a better product. Unfortunately the gallery in the app is bugged so that after uploading the photos once, the next time I open the “upload photos” section in the app, I see only a white screen. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but after uploading the photos once, the problem reappeared. Night mode is simply not working and the menu is badly translated (what does it mean “turn on night mode regularly”?) It would be nice to have a setting to automatically dim the brightness when the room is dark or even turn the screen off when the camera does not detect motion. Also, I don’t like having to chose between forecasts and photos. It would be nice to show the forecasts every X photos (to be set by the user) to get both. ### 1/5 — Not working *2024-02-21, version 1.2.8* So for us is useless. We habe Ipad 1 in the Framix. Nothing is working. Nothing! Any kind of comand …. Nothing. A thumbnail gets sent. It expands that x10. Then it crops in to wherever it feels like. To the people who helped to make this happen. They are not responding on any tried way of contact. Check the comments on their kickstarter page - people are just frustrated. ### 1/5 — Primative and Buggy *2024-05-28, version 1.3.1* Disappointed in this for an original iPad. Slow, buggy and nearly useless. Yes, the iPad is obsolete but they advertise that it will work and this falls far short. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2024-05-24, version 1.3.1* In principle the app sounds great but it’s practically abysmal. I’ve got thousands of pictures in my iPhone. The app only lets you select 9 at a time to upload. To get to my earliest pictures I have to scroll through the entire library to get to the earliest ones, select 9 and then repeat. This is extremely time consuming and a terrible user experience. Needless to say I’ll be finding another way to display my photos. Die Idee mit dem Rahmen und der App ist super. Leider ist die App nicht allen nötigen Funktionen ausgestattet. Dinge wie zuschneiden der Bilder, oder eine Shuffle Funktion zum anordnen der Bilder (Reihenfolge) wären nett. During the setup I had issues with connecting with the WiFi cause apparently my password was to long (I received the error password length). I managed changing it but it was a bit of a faff. Carousel time apparently can’t be set to more than 60s. Teams seems working hard to develop more features … ### 3/5 — Weather screen needs work *2024-10-07, version 1.3.7* I’m a fan of the concept, but the app really needs some work to finish the product. The weather screen doesn’t show the name of the day in the week overview. A darkmode for weather would be nice. And please add extra languages like dutch. Thank you! ### 3/5 — Getting Better *2024-09-23, version 1.3.7* The app on the phone seems to connect well with the iChargeguard. The latest version does have Fahrenheit and a 12 hour clock. City and state would be beneficial to help locate the accurate U.S. cities accurately. The current function of displaying weather, photos, or clock works but could use an option to rotate through the widgets automatically. I agree calendar event display would be nice. I don’t care for the fact I have to upload photos to the app separate from photos in iPhotos. I look forward to future app versions for greater functionality. ### 3/5 — A good start *2024-08-16, version 1.3.7* This app is used to set up the corresponding app in my old iPad2. The basic screen saver, weather, and album work. But it would be nice to have zoom/crop features in the album and degrees F in the weather app. The firmware in iCharguard currently charges to 100%. It is supposed to charge to only 80%. It would be nice to get that feature to work. Version 1.2.8 doesn’t work! Version 1.2.9 works. Version 1.3.1 adds degrees F capability. ### 3/5 — Needs more features *2024-06-24, version 1.3.1* Works ok, but I want it to switch automatically from photo album during day to screensaver at night at same time as night mode times. Version 1.2.9 works. ### 3/5 — Good move … many improvements possible *2024-03-16, version 1.2.8* Hi team I supported iFramix on kickstarter and got my three frames. Providing an app to manage the iPad in the frame is a great idea. There are still improvements needed on the ichargeguard device’s especially the lightening version. Easier setup would be appreciated (getting hold of ichargeguards, downloading dolphin browser for iPad 1, clarifying choice between iFramix and iFramix HD…). For the functions in the app : - please give charge level in monitoring app in the bound iPad dashboard - please make it possible to activate (wake up) bound devices from monitoring app … it is difficult to do it in a classic way due to the frame ! - please enable or suggest to activate iPad setup accessibility option to command the iPad from a ghost dot on screen (once again command buttons are not reachable in the frame). - please speed up picture reading in monitoring app when you decide to upload screen saver pictures (so slow) … and translate the two buttons in the bottom command bar (they are in Chinese) - please provide more functions for iPad 1 otherwise the in built diaporama is a better solution than your current version Ideas to improve the app in the future : - translate in more languages (French) - enrich weather info (wind, humidity, …) - try to moke Apple Watch modular faces - why not offering citation carousel / rss pages selection / - enable to send a message or picture to frames (« time for lunch » call) - enable point to point video calls : one screen with one button per bound device. Once pushed you are connected to the other room !
