### 4/5 — Works with QRP-LABS QMX+, not with Icom 7100

*2026-05-25, version 1.8*

I have used iFTx with a QMX+ doing a POTA, and it worked well. I cannot use iFTx with my mobile IC-7100 because ICOM does not support VOX on USB.

### 4/5 — Works kinda

*2025-12-19*

App works in a basic sense, but needs basic CAT to trigger the PTT for RX. A USB-C cable betewwen the iPad and Xiegu x6200 results in audio going back and forth but you have to trigger the PTT manually. Less than ideal. One of the advantages of radios like this is the built in sound card and USB-C data flow and control. It doesn't have VOX so we're out of luck that way. Note that you can acoustically couple the iPad to the radio by simply setting the two near each other. The iPad decides the sound out of the radio speaker just fine, and the radio accepts the sound from the iPad, but only if you keybtge handset manually at the correct moment.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. CAT control is not possible on iOS since Apple does not support serial devices on iOS, so you either need a radio that supports VOX or an external sound card mode interface that has a VOX circuitry.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t activate PTT

*2025-10-09, version 1.8*

Tried on my FT991 and kenwood ts690 with digirig doesn’t activate PTT absolutely no instructions whatsoever on how to use with these radios. Update: set your ft991a vox input to data and vox on F M-list on menu then it will work.

### 4/5 — Ft4

*2025-08-10, version 1.5*

Great app - ft4 showing as ft8 on pskinfo?

### 4/5 — Lost Contact, can’t reconnect

*2025-06-08, version 1.5*

If a contact is lost due to bad conditions or a time out it is not possible to reconnect again until the station calls CQ.

### 5/5 — Background colors

*2025-05-29, version 1.5*

I have been using iftx for s year now and really like it for SOTA. One issue I have is I sm red-green colorblind and struggle with deciding id a CQ call is a dup or not. Thanks for a very useful app.

### 5/5 — does iftx plan to support wavelog？

*2025-05-27*

wavelog is very helpful to upload log to lotw or sth else, will this software support wavelog api
?

### 4/5 — Very Useful for Lightweight POTA/SOTA Activating

*2025-04-02*

Let me say that this works, and sometimes I think it “hears” more than my laptop running WSJTX. I have run it with my Elecraft KX2 and a Digirig no problem and activated several parks with it running on a iPad Mini and IPad Air, I have not tried it on my IPhone. Much lighter and easier footprint than bringing a laptop along. It is not, however, as “flexible” as WSJT-X. By that, i mean, if you have several stations calling you, your callsign is not highlighted in the large “Listen” page, you have to go back and hunt through everything you are receiving, though perhaps under the “reply” page the developer can add all that stations calling your callsign with all of the stations calling ‘CQ’. I also would like a feature to clear all of the “QSO”s in the “log” versus having to delete them individually. Though I only ask for this since I also found that it would always download the entire log, not just “new entries since last export”, which for a POTA guy makes managing each activation cumbersome. Overall, i give it 4 stars because it does a good job for what it does. Fix atleast those 2-3 issues above and I’d give it a full 5.

### 4/5 — I’m impressed! Elegantly simple.

*2025-03-14*

I love how simple this app is and the fact that it just works! Perfect for POTA, when you don’t want to lug a laptop or risk damaging one.

Yaesu FT-991A
RT-42 USB Cable
Lightning to USB adapter - $16

SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the amount of energy needed when operating on battery power - in my case, 105W laptop vs 10w phone. I was able to make several contacts without power running to the adapter, which is really cool. Didn’t seem to drain a bunch of battery while doing it either.

Very well designed and architected app. 4/5 because the waterfall needs some work. I’m okay with the stylized signal visuals, because this is a mobile app, but it just doesn’t display correctly on screen. The bandwidth scaling is off. I move the bottom slider to the right, but it makes the waterfall start at 600Hz and displays well past the relevant pass band. Would love to see a feature enhancement that enables advanced waterfall configuration similar to WSJT-X - i.e., Start, Compression Factor and average FFTs.

### 5/5 — £1.99 well spent

*2025-03-04, version 1.5*

Many thanks to the developer. This is a gift for POTA activators who, like me, don’t want to lug a laptop but sometimes need a couple of extra contacts. I hope the developer continues to improve the app. For me it was £1.99 well spent.

### 4/5 — Good and simple program. But…

*2025-01-06*

I really love this, but the exporting of the log does not really work. The export since last export still exports the entire log and you can select specific contacts to export. Fixing that would make this app PERFECT!

### 4/5 — Decent application - couple minor nits

*2025-01-05*

The program works very well and is very intuitive. A couple things that would make it almost perfect - first, fix the option to export only QSOs since the last export. It exports everything all the time. Second, add the option for station ID and Operator. Right now, if I operate with a club call sign, I have to manually edit the ADIF to indicate that I was the OP. Third, add the option to add a park number to the export. The MY SIG INFO field gets POTA, but again has to be edited to add in the entity.

### 5/5 — Klasse!!!

*2024-12-18*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not worth purchasing

*2025-12-15, version 1.8*

It doesnt work over bluetooth or cable. It inly works using iphones microphone.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-11-30, version 1.8*

No good.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-10-14, version 1.8*

Can’t get it to TX with a digirig and a g90 on either my iPad Air 5th or iPhone 16 pro

### 1/5 — Has Bugs- Beware

*2025-07-01, version 1.5*

The app looks promising but I ran into issues right on the setup page. The app will not allow me to add my callsign. It appears in red and error message displays stating to add a valid callsign! Ugh! Forget support. It doesn’t exist.

### 1/5 — Does not work on my IC-7300

*2025-05-23*

I am really disappointed. Despite numerous adjustments, the app does not allow to transmit on my IC-7300.
A purchase for nothing !!

### 1/5 — App currently not reliable enough to use

*2024-03-04, version 1.1*

Despite initial good communication I have had zero replies to my emails asking when the app will be updated so it is functional, you have not replied Chris but replied to someone else’s feedback on here. After I messaged you , please update the app and make it usable

### 2/5 — Time is out of sink?

*2024-06-06, version 1.4*

Seems like the idea of the program is great. The problem I’m having is the time is out of sync with my iPhone. The time says 0600 when it’s 11:00 PM. Also moving the cursor for the frequency is very difficult to set to an exact frequency. If I could figure out how to fix these issuesi I would change my rating to 5 stars.

### 3/5 — Where is the help manual?

*2025-10-24, version 1.8*

I cannot find the manual as shown in the screen grabs.

### 3/5 — iPad Pro, xiegu g90, ft8, ce19 home built connections

*2025-06-06, version 1.5*

I can confirm this works for ft8 send and receive, with confirmed QSOs. No CAT control, or integration with logging apps or web sites, but will work for light weight POTA setup. No integration with grid tracker or equivalent. Harder to get optimal power output than a Mac or PC.

### 3/5 — Problem with recognizing usb audio

*2024-08-16, version 1.4*

It works but only sometimes. When it does not work it listens to the iPhone mic vs the usb mic Saw the YouTube video about using the ugreen usbc-audio adapter. Support page comes out blank on iPhone so trying this here in hopes someone else can confirm and better is there is some setting I need to have. When I connect cable I choose headphone vs other but have tried both. It has worked about 20% of the time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect portable with QMX+

*2026-07-31*

Turned on VOX on my QMX+, connected radio to iPhone with USB cable, and I am ready for QSOs. Simple user interface but obviously not as flexible as WSJTX, e.g. I like to change xmt frequency when in a pile up but didn’t see a way to do that. Great program!

### 5/5 — Super für POTA

*2026-05-02*

### 5/5 — Great solution

*2026-03-30, version 1.8*

Love this. Have it on all my iOS devices and use it regularly. Would love to see FT2 incorporated into it.

### 5/5 — FT8 FT4 for QRP SOTA is soooo easy.

*2026-02-04*

It is rare that we have an application that works so phenomenally well out of the box with a radio. I’m using an FT – 891 with a DigiRig 891 and this application just works. Even better, I have a QMX QRP rig with a chameleon off-center fed dipole for backpacking trips. This set up this app on my iPhone make it for ultra portable operations.

My question to the developer is this. Can you please try to figure out how to do JS8CALL or Winlink just like iFTX. That would be an absolute game changer! Keep up the great work.

### 5/5 — ADI File Import Needed

*2025-12-01*

This app works great. Use with Icom-7300, Signalink, and Ipad. This setup replaces HRD and PC.
iFTx has no import capability so can’t use it for my master logbook which contains 8,500 contacts. Ham-Toolbox contains my master logbook. With this setup, iFTx can’t “see” which contacts I have already worked. ADI file import function would really be a plus for a really great product!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback, much appreciated! ADIF import is already possible, please open the log and tap on the import button at the left bottom. You can then choose the file you would like to import.

### 5/5 — Nikel

*2025-10-16*

Je l’utilise sur un iPhone sans boîtier digital uniquement le micro à proximité du tel et j’appuie à chaque émission. Je trafique avec ft817
Génial
Merci

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-09-20, version 1.8*

Being new to FT8 this app was easy
Just wish it had an option to call different CQ for POTA or QSO parties that would make it more better but love the app and for what it does . Super happy

### 5/5 — wifi ic705

*2025-09-15*

Does this software support wifi? I have an ic705 and hope to be able to connect to the radio via wifi and achieve ft8

### 5/5 — Alles was ich für FT8 brauche

*2025-08-31*

Aufbau). ufb, danke! 👍 vy 73
