Programmed & designed by a verifiable Graduate Gemologist for Gem Trade Professionals and Gem Enthusiasts. It can estimate diamond/colored stones weight just by keying in stone's dimension. The list of birth stones is convenient too. Basically, what this app serves can be integrated in GIA gemological system. That's another advantage. However, the info about colored stones is not adequate. We need more species and variety. As a G.G., you are supposed to compile a more complete database. Cell phone is so advanced nowadays, I don't think that memory size would be a problem. Hope the author will improve it very soon. Designed and Tested exclusively for iOS 7 and later only NEW TO THIS VERSION ARE: Weight Estimation on Princess Cut Diamonds now default to 70% depth and all the rest default 60% depth. On entering required values and dismissing the keyboard, iGemology automatically calculate the results. No need for tapping "Estimate Weight" button. Estimated Weight is then carried to the next function to determine Price/Carat Value together with the desired mark-up percentage. User can also take photo of jewelry item in question with all relevant data described above. All others defaults to 60% depth for ideal proportion. - Dismissing keyboard pressing “Done” button performs instantaneous calculation.
