## What is Ihtisab?

Ihtisab is a private, offline tool for honest daily self-accounting — muhasabah. It makes your own practice visible to you, accurately, without turning worship into a game.

  It tracks:

  • The five daily prayers — a simple Prayed or Missed, one tap.                                                                                                                                                                                    
  • Qada — a make-up ledger for prayers owed, with a starting estimate you can revise at any time.
  • Sunnah prayers — rawatib, witr, tahajjud, and ishraq.
  • Qur'an — by juz and quarter, so you can see which portions you've read.
  • Athkar — morning and evening sessions, read through at your own pace.
  • Sunnah fasting, Surah al-Mulk nightly, and Surah al-Kahf on Fridays.

  Built around a few principles:
  
  • Count acts, never reward. It logs what you did — it never totals "hasanat," awards points, or blends everything into a single score.
  • Private by default. No account, no server, no network. Everything stays on your device. There is no share sheet and nothing to sign in to.
  • Blunt about patterns, quiet about incidents. A single missed prayer gets no comment; a prayer missed often gets named, with the number.
  • Forward-looking. It shows the next window opening. A missed prayer is recorded plainly — never an alarm, never a guilt notification.

  The face is a sky-clock: the colours shift through the day with the computed prayer times, from a dark night to a parchment noon. Prayer times are calculated on your device from your location — nothing is sent anywhere. If you don't share a location, the app simply
  shows no times rather than guessing.

  A home-screen widget shows the current window and how long is left.
