## What is İhya?

İhya lets you read and memorize the Quran, follow the prayer times and keep a record of your daily worship.

QURAN

The mushaf has 605 pages, and they turn like paper. You can go straight to any page, surah or verse. When you hold an iPad in landscape, two pages open side by side.

You can also read the Quran as verse cards, with the Arabic and its translation together, by surah, by juz or one page at a time. Tap a verse in the mushaf to see the meaning of each word.

The translation is Saheeh International. You can search it, or type "Al-Ma'idah 64" or "5:64" to jump to a verse.

The memorization section builds a review plan on sabaq, sabaq para and manzil. You can play a block 1, 3, 5 or 10 times and test yourself with three kinds of questions.

You can listen to seven reciters, all in the Hafs narration. The verse you play is saved on the device and keeps playing when the screen is off.

PRAYER TIMES

In Türkiye the times come from Diyanet's timetable. In Bosnia, Qatar, Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Northern Cyprus the app uses the timetable of the country's official authority, and elsewhere the country's official calculation method. The app includes 34,714 places in 244 countries, so if you do not allow location you can pick your city from the list. The qibla compass and makruh times are on the same screen.

TRACKING

You can mark the five daily prayers, congregation, voluntary prayers and missed-prayer (qada) debt. For daily reading you set a page goal; the app reminds you and shows the days you read on a calendar. There is also a heat map and a streak. The Ihya summary brings together your year of reading, listening and prayers, and you can save it as an image.

GROUPS

You can share a khatm, a khatm chain, a daily reading or a dhikr with family or friends. In a khatm chain everyone reads the next juz each day. A dhikr goal can be set as the group's total, per member, or per member each day. Groups open with an İhya account and are invite-only. You can report or block a member and leave a group.

DHIKR

The app has a dhikr counter and a daily wird.

WIDGETS AND WATCH

You can add widgets to the home and lock screen for prayer times, qada, memorization, daily reading and the verse of the day. On Apple Watch you get a dhikr counter and the next prayer time, which also show on the watch face. You can set separate reminders for prayer times, makruh times, memorization, daily reading and groups. You can pick the app icon from ten designs in Settings.

PRIVACY

There are no ads, analytics or crash reporting tools. Your location is used only on the phone, for prayer times and the qibla, and is sent nowhere. Your records stay on your phone and are backed up to your iCloud Drive; you can turn the backup off in Settings. If you like, you can open an İhya account: your progress is stored encrypted on our server and survives a phone change. You can delete the account in Settings at any time. The app goes online for verse audio, the prayer timetable, groups and your account, and for a version check.

• The recitation screen is redesigned: the word being recited is followed inside the verse, and a sleep timer is added.
• Apple Watch screens and complications are redesigned; the cover art fits the watch circle.
• Repeat is one button: repeat the playing verse or the whole surah. In Listen, tapping a surah opens the player.
• New cover art: your chosen icon with moving light behind it.
• When a surah ends, the next one starts; the arrow button in the player turns this off.

### 1.86.0 — 2026-10-25

• On Android, reminders now arrive at the exact minute you set.
• At large text sizes the six prayer times on Today no longer run into each other.
• The fourteen verses of prostration are marked on cards and in the mushaf.
• In the translation view each verse sits in its own ornate panel, where you can bookmark and share it.
• The launch screen now shows the icon you chose in Settings instead of the default gold one.

### 1.85.0 — 2026-10-24

• Open an optional İhya account. Your progress is stored encrypted in your account and survives a phone change. You can delete the account in Settings at any time.

• Pick the app icon from ten designs in Settings. The default gold icon is new too.
• The ornate look now covers every screen.

• Widgets can also go on the lock screen on devices that allow it.

• A redesigned yearly summary: the year sits in a star medallion, and "The year's rhythm" shows how many days of each month you recorded.
• Pages you read with a group stay apart from your own reading. You can count a group's pages toward your daily reading, and the summary shows each group separately and all together.

### 1.81.0 — 2026-10-17

This version includes everything new since 1.71.

GROUPS
• Start a group to read a khatm together with your family or friends, read the same pages every day, or do dhikr together.
• Only people you send the invite link to can join. Nobody needs an account.
• A dhikr goal can be the group's total, per member, or per member every day.
• The group screen shows who recited and who read. Tap an activity to see how much each member contributed.
• The person who started the group can change the goal and the end date, and can send every member a reminder at a set time each day. Each member gets it at their own local time.
• Tap a ready option such as "Khatm in a month" or "Everyone 10 salawat a day" to start an activity at once.
• You can report or block a member, or leave the group.

QURAN
• Read the mushaf by turning pages like paper and go straight to any page, surah or verse. On a tablet the mushaf opens as two pages side by side.
• Tap a verse to see its word-by-word meaning. You can turn tajweed colors on and off.
• Four new reciters: Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Maher Al-Muaiqly, Abdul Basit Abdul Samad and Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary.
• When you listen to a range of pages, the pages turn by themselves. While memorizing, you can play a passage 1, 3, 5 or 10 times in a row.

DAILY READING AND TRACKING
• Set a daily page goal. The app reminds you every day and marks the days you read on a calendar; there is a widget for it too.
• Tracking also counts your daily reading and the pages you read in a group. You can mark tarawih in Ramadan.
• The İhya summary shows how much you read, listened and recited over the year. You can save your summary as an image.

PRAYER TIMES
• In Türkiye, prayer times come from Diyanet's timetable. In Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Northern Cyprus, Austria, Bosnia, Qatar and Singapore the app uses that country's official timetable.
• On iPhone, prayer time notifications refresh by themselves in the background. Add İhya to your Lock Screen to see prayer times there.
• On Android, the prayer time card in the notification shade fits with large text and no longer disappears when you open the app. The qibla compass keeps turning when calibration drifts.

APPLE WATCH
• Count dhikr and see the next prayer time on your Apple Watch.

EVERYDAY USE
• The bottom bar has five tabs: Today, Quran, Listen, Dhikr and Settings. You can turn cards on the Today screen off in Settings.
• The Dhikr tab lists your recent dhikr with their own targets. One you have not counted for seven days is shown first; touch and hold to remove one.
• Share a dhikr as an image. Count an Asma name to any target or with no limit, and share its count with the tasbih counter.
• When you jump to a verse, a short light passes over it.
• The app runs more smoothly and uses less battery. The last line of a page no longer sits under the phone's bottom bar.
• The screen stays on while you read or count dhikr. Tap any empty spot to close the keyboard.
• Your records are backed up to iCloud automatically.
