## What is iHypnobirth?

Join thousands of women already benefiting from a positive birth experience with iHypnobirth. Designed to create a deeply relaxed state of mind and empowered labour and birth.

Created by women for women, iHypnobirth, will help you feel positive about birthing your baby.

iHypnobirth contains tailored meditations for self-hypnosis and positive birth affirmations each created specifically for labour and birth.

iHypnobirth features the following hypnosis tracks;

-Guided relaxation for self-hypnosis
A guided hypnosis that prepares the mind for a relaxed state of mind and calm birth

-Guided meditation with positive birth affirmations audio
A longer relaxation with positive birth affirmations that will resonate deep within the sub-conscious

-Positive birth affirmations
These are positive statements about pregnancy and birth which resonate within the sub-conscious allowing you to embrace a positive birth experience

iHypnobirth was created by Psychologist & hypnatal practitioner Dr Alex McKay and NLP trained Charlotte Maslen. With six children between them they have first-hand experience of the power that self-hypnosis and positive affirmations have on pregnancy and birth. They believe that women deserve positive, empowered birth experiences and have created this app to equip them with the skills to achieve this. The effectiveness of hypnosis and relaxation on positive birth outcomes (shorter labour, lower rates of medical intervention, less medication use) is well documented in a number of research studies.

iHypnobirth teaches you that birth does not have to be full of fear, instead it will equip you with tools that can create a positive birthing experience, helping you to prepare both physically and emotionally.

By listening to the relaxation and positive affirmations regularly during pregnancy, this app will enable you to practice deep relaxation, effective breathing and positive visualisations to help you to have a calm, controlled, and empowered birth experience. If you learn to condition your body now it will be much easier to slip into a relaxed state during your labour and birth - and even after your baby is born these techniques will serve you well.

### 5/5 — I love it!

*2019-09-18, version 2.0*

I am just starting out with the shorter meditations focusing on breathing, and also doing the body scan meditation as well. I can’t wait to delve deeper into this practice as my pregnancy progresses!

### 5/5 — Calms my fears!

*2018-05-14, version 1.7*

I love it and her voice! So soothing!!! The recordings are really nice and really help you feel calm. But i do wish there was more. I believe theres 3 recordings where she speaks and but one sounds like a repeat.

### 2/5 — Waste of money

*2018-05-08, version 1.7*

There is only one track that plays for the relaxation and behind all the affirmations. You quickly become sick of hearing it as it just circles round.
Really barely anything to this app.
Disappointed, waste of money. Don't bother with it.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2018-01-14, version 1.7*

I will come back on here to review how he Birth went, but as of practicing them now... all I can say is that the lady makes me fall asleep immediately or get into a very relaxed state. This is just what I need because my first birth I was screaming bloody murder on the top of my lungs and I need something to calm me down so I can connect with my body.

Okay—- so Update on my birth sinc getting this!! Got my Natural BIRTH, was able to listen to this in the hospital l and d room, in the background and it just eliminated so much tension I would have had otherwise. I also enjoyed the lady’s voice, so soothing, makes you calm down!! So happy I purchased this. FYI- i only listened prior to birth twice, not because I didn’t want too, just because I didn’t have tons of time before he was ready to pop. It still was worth it for a natural birth if you want it. It’s like having a doula or midwife with you coaching you on every 4 second followed by relaxing music in between.

### 2/5 — Disappointing. Not as much content as I’d hoped

*2017-11-16, version 1.6*

For $3.99, this is a very minimal app of 3 guided meditations and no instructions for use. While I enjoy the audio, the quality is a bit poor and the narrator misspeaks several times in the recording, corrects herself, and continues on.

### 2/5 — Apple update

*2017-10-28, version 1.5*

Can you please update this app to work with the latest updates for iPhone? It won’t work at all..

### 5/5 — So helpful!

*2017-09-16, version 1.5*

I had difficulty keeping pace with a good breathing rhythm during my first pregnancy. I used this app during labor of my second child and it made a world of difference! I listened to it for about 3 weeks prior to delivery. It helped me block out my surroundings and focus on what was important. Thank you so much!

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2017-08-27, version 1.5*

There's one recording for each category and the background music is all the same

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing! Needs an update.

*2017-07-12, version 1.5*

I like what this app offers, but it's really annoying to be relaxing into a deeper state of consciousness and the app cuts out because it crashes! It needs an update. Please offer one soon!

### 3/5 — underwhelmed

*2012-09-12, version 1.2*

I probably should have checked out the lite version first but I was so excited to find this app that I just went for it, I was disappointed in the quality and quantity of the content. I did not fine the affirmations particularly affirming they were more statements that I could have easily written myself, more time should be spend using some guided to imagery to really inspire a mother. Quantity, is basically 1- 23 minute track of music and affirmations, then the two are divided into two other recordings that are identical to the original
