However I do think that there should be an iPhone version of this, because I take my phone with me all the time and I sometimes I want to write In my journal. However, subsequent to making the last update there is a problem when trying to pull up a prior page. The page start flipping rapidly and does not stop. I hope this can be repaired because I don't want to loose years of journaling. This is a great app and I’ve used it for years. I’m having some issues with my IPad freezing on this app. I notice the app has not had any updates in a while. Are there updates you can provide to the app that may help resolve this issue? Thanks for reviewing this matter. ### 4/5 — Password Problem *2019-10-19, version 3.1* I’ve had this app for quite some time but wanted to get back into the journal and it doesn’t have the option to reset my password......help !!! ### 2/5 — Used to like *2019-08-29, version 3.1* I’ve used this journal sunce 2011 for travel diaries. Pretty easy to use. However, I was never able to get it to accept photos. So, I exported trip diaries and added photos by making a Word document on my Mac. The export feature worked the first two times I used it. When I tried to export recently, before updating the iOS on the iPad, it failed completely. It didn’t matter if I emailed the export or tranferred it directly using iTunes. Nothing was readable in the unzipped file except the Welcome page. I got around this by a tedious copy/paste and email routine. Then I deleted the app and re-installed it. No dice. It still won’t export properly; I can’t read any of the unzipped files. On the “new” Welcome page exported as a text file. I emailed for support a few days ago. Got an automated response, and nothing more. There doesn't seem to be a way to get my old entries back on to app so I had to start all over and all my entries were lost. I tried reaching out to the company but never got a response... so its no secret that I was frustrated beyond belief. ### 5/5 — About the journal... *2016-10-25, version 2.0* This app was well worth the small amount of $ I payed for it. Love the way it looks- like a real journal! Love the lettering- how it looks like I'm actually writing in it! I just really like EVERYTHING about it! I set a password for my journal and forgot it?! I sent a request to the link it gave and was pleasantly surprised when they not only answered me back the same day, but also helped me reset my password the same day! Ahhh if only EVERYTHING worked this smooth & easy. Thanks to the creators of this journal. You guys put out an excellent product with excellent support & help features. I only gave you five stars because that's all I could give you, but this journal most defiantly deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!! ### 4/5 — I like it! *2016-07-26, version 2.0* I tried several different journals from the app store because I wanted to find which one would work well for my needs. This one fit the bill the closest! It really does have a nice look and feel as so many have said. It does inspire one to write! I really enjoy the bottom band where we can add pictures that pertain to our life. One thing I wish that was different, is if I could arrange them the way that I want to, once they are on the band. Another helpful thing would be if I could label a picture by putting a date or comment on it. One last thing that is just whimsical on my part, but I wish I could change the fonts into colors or otherwise add color in someway to my pages! Even so, I love this particular journal! ### 4/5 — Good, but there's room for improvement *2014-02-08, version 1.5.2* I enjoy keeping a travel journal using this app. I can adjust the entry date to represent the day I am writing about, for instance when I am writing about the previous day. The password feature seems to work the way it's supposed to, though I would like the option to un-password-protect it. I find that having the journal lock whenever I switch between apps to be bothersome, but I can find no way to turn this off once it's been enabled. Some kind of timed lock would be a nice enhancement. My big complaint about the app is a bug when flipping back to previous entries - the pages won't be completely visible, and the text will flicker. Tapping into the page, as if to edit it, and then minimizing the keyboard is a workaround, but that doesn't really help when trying to quickly scan back through previous entries. I didn't notice this issue when I had the app on my old iPad, so it's either a bug in a newer version or a bug resulting from the new OS. I would also like the option to not have the right page always be the current day, but that's another enhancement request. This was a great app at one time but lots of problems now. Looks like he developer just gave up on fixing it. I got a new iPad and was unable to move my journal entries over. I emailed the developer, but never receive a response. Needless to say I’m very saddened and disappointed that all of my memories and notes are gone with no recourse. ### 1/5 — Problem with recent update *2017-09-20, version 3.0.1* When you start a new page, the pages turn rapidly & will not stop. Unusable. ### 1/5 — Wasted my money. *2014-12-09, version 1.5.2* I usually do not give bad reviews but this app has given me so much trouble I don't even use it any longer. I have installed it on my Ipad. At first it kept freezing up on me. Then the problem got worse. It got to the point where the keyboard will not pop up to enter the password. After much frustration I contacted the manufacturer through email and described the problem. As of today I still not have heard back from them and it's been two weeks now. That's what ticked me off enough to write this bad review. I deleted the app and reinstalled it of course loosing all my data. It seemed to work OK for a few days and now it's doing the same thing again. I wrote the mfg back again and promised them I would post a bad review...well here it is! And please note, I have many apps on my Ipad and they all work fine except this one....Like I said I wasted my money! ### 1/5 — No updates for 2 years. No longer functional. *2012-10-08, version 1.5.2* Two iOS versions ago, this app was pretty decent and worked okay. The designer has been promising us an update (with pictures!!!) since February 2011. There have been none. Two iOS incarnations have come and gone and the app has become buggy and more unstable than it was back then. Every attempt to contact the designer (if responded to at all) is met with another promise that the update is soon forthcoming. I would gladly give up the ability to insert pictures, which is what he claims has been this enormous undertaking which justifies the gap. It doesn't. It's practically unusable now. Since iOS 6, you cannot read entries because half the page has a blank stripe down it. What's annoying is, since there's no way to export the text to use in a better app, he kind of has you by the b***s. He's even gone so far as to recruit beta testers for the new version … The recruitment was 8 months ago, no beta version has been released. The "final testing" for the new version was allegedly done in May. It's October… Still nothing. ### 1/5 — Very Disappointed *2012-02-13, version 1.5.2* I bought this App really hoping that it would perform as described. I wanted a simple to use, reliable journal program without a lot of complexity. The program is simple enough, but it has several major flaws. First, when working with my iPad in portrait orientation, I found that text simply ran off the side of the page and was unviewable (word wrap occurred off of the page). When I switched to landscape orientation, the word wrap issue went away, but this is not the best way to go back and read your journal entries. Returning to portrait orientation only caused the problem to return again. Second, moving from one page to another using the swipe motion works part of the time. Trying to move from one day's entry to another can become an exercise in frustration to say the least. When I submitted a support request to the developer, I might as well have sent the e-mail into the bit bucket. I never received the first response. I have waited over a week and given up on ever hearing back from them. There is one other major shortcoming (thought not a bug) in that you cannot to highlight part of an entry. You cannot underline or make a text selection bold. If you try to change the font on an entry, you change the font on all entries. All in all, I was very disappointed with this App and feel that I wasted my money. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Perfect for me *2020-11-03, version 3.1* I don’t want any frills. I bought a journal when I purchased my ipad 16 months ago. I purchased a new iPad and am giving the other to my daughter. My old journal I purchased is no longer available so I had to purchase another, which is this one. I truly hope that if this iPad wears out I don't have to purchase another journal. I have a tendency to over work my technical stuff. I have been doing a lot of scanning to my iPad and it has hung in there compared to my Samsung tablet, but I decided to go and replace it before it did wear out and give it to my daughter which as a single mom who can't afford something this pricey!! Please do not end this app. I hate losing my journals.
