Unfortunately the app is required to request vital documents. On iOS 26.5 the app opens to “request could not be processed” error, and no other action is available. ### 1/5 — Can't find my plate? *2025-09-25, version 12.4.0* Guess I don't need to pay. I love how they come out with these apps and then the users of the apps end up doing the work of troubleshooting the solutions. I work for the state of Kansas but the department of revenue hasn't sent me a check for working on their app. Also IOS keyboard blows. Let me use my own instead of chicken pecking my whole email address then shift to get a period oh shift back to write letters and shift back for @. ### 2/5 — Good and Bad *2025-06-12, version 12.4.0* The app is easy to navigate and is great for vehicle renewal but… Needed a marriage certificate and the bot tried to charge me whether it found the certificate or not. Why not have the bot look first and then if it finds it charge me? And the bot sends you in circles sometimes. Very glitchy. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-04-08, version 12.4.0* Every year my vehicle registration has this on it. Worked once, 2 years ago. Now it never finds my vehicle no matter how I look for it (plate/vin). The funny part was that the treasury office didn’t know about the app when I called them to ask why it wasn’t able to find my vehicle. The sad part is that it doesn’t even have updated info. Went to the treasury office to do it. How did I get my plate sticker if I didn’t renew last year iKan? Come on Kansas…do better. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2025-03-06, version 12.4.0* Horrible app. I downloaded this because I paid my vehicle tags online and won’t get the paper registration for a week or two. I can log in to the app and see my registration but when I click on see details it takes me to a white screen with nothing but a back arrow and X. Neither of which do anything. The only thing I can to is kill the app. I hope I don’t get stopped by the police. I won’t be able to show them my registration. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-03-03, version 12.4.0* Can’t create an account. Just says invalid email. It’s the same outlook email I’ve been using for everything for 15 years. ### 1/5 — Automated System Fail *2025-02-21, version 12.4.0* The automated chat system doesn’t recognize the preprogramed responses you have to pick from. Got in a repetitive loop after it failed to process a payment and it would response with “sorry, we don’t recognize that response” after i selected the only response option available of choosing to submit again. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-02-14, version 12.4.0* Being that I am unable to link my info to my account, it makes this app completely useless. ### 3/5 — does the job *2025-01-27, version 12.4.0* it’s basically an interface that talks with a bot to walk you through whatever you’re doing (licenses/renewals/etc) there seems to be some sort of layout resizing bug that causes weird distances between things, and it doesn’t automatically scroll to where you’re typing in some fields nonetheless it does the job good job kansas! we have an app! ### 1/5 — Can’t Perform Change of Address *2024-11-21, version 12.4.0* When prompted to upload images of my credentials and proof of new address, the app just takes a step back after selecting the images, I get stuck in a loop trying to upload the blasted images. ### 1/5 — Uploading images crashes the app *2024-08-25, version 12.3.5* I was attempting to update my address and anytime I had to upload a photo the app would crash. I had to get on a laptop to submit the application. ### 3/5 — Whose idea was chatbot payment?!? *2024-08-16, version 12.3.5* Pro: app seems to work ok, Kansas finally getting a little bit of technology with their system. Con: who thought a chatbot was the best way to pay online?!? First page lists all the vehicles to renew. So I click it and then it immedietely forgets the vehicles and asks me to enter in a PIN or plate number. Then asks a bunch of different questions. Guess what, if you have another vehicle you have to do it all over again. So whoever chose this: have you ever paid a bill anywhere else like this? Water, insurnace, invoices? Then the even more worthless chatbot can’t locate my registration. No way to clear the “Action Item” that’s incorrect, can’t find info via plate, no way to look up vehicle by VIN. Completely. I’ve answered all of the personal questions correctly. What a shame. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2026-06-14, version 20.16.10* You could not find a more useless app if you tried. You get the renewal application in the mail and it has all of your info on it, you plug it into the app to renew your plates and it can’t find your vehicle no matter what search criteria you plug into it, not with the pin that they send you, not with your license plate number, not your VIN. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE USING THE EXACT DATA THAT THEY HAVE ON FILE. ### 1/5 — It’s all so tiresome *2026-06-10, version 20.16.10* Does NOT allow grandchildren to request birth certificates for their grandparents. KS considers grandchildren to be immediate family. Why is this not included? Now I will have to order by mail or VitalChek. I need these records for citizenship. My grandma is going senile so she cannot find her birth certificate. Let alone manage requesting it herself. Likewise this app does not allow people to obtain pre 1940 birth certificates. Even though those dates are not impacted by Kansas’ draconian legislation. Very unprofessional. It’s got really bad UI. The pay button hides below the viewport so the only way to fix that is to orient the device in landscape and then bring it back to portrait. The entire page scrolls horizontally when there is no need for it. Spacing of items is terrible. My CC payment failed for no reason but my bank echeck payment went through. Terrible experience. ### 1/5 — Fix visibility *2026-04-16, version 20.16.10* When renewing motor vehicle registrations, the bot response for adding additional vehicles is mostly hidden off the right side of the screen. This makes it almost impossible to make the correct response to group all vehicles in a single transaction. Fix it!!! ### 1/5 — Unreliable and incorrect *2026-03-31, version 20.16.10* The app says I have 3 “action items”, which are three expired car registrations. App said they were not elligible to renew online, and referred me to the Johnson County Courthouse. I went to the courthouse and was told they don’t handle registrations. They sent me to the Dept of Motor Vehicles office, where I was told none of my registrations are expired. I wasted an entire afternoon on this.
