### 2/5 — Lost Meal and Dining Dollar History

*2024-09-22*

I’ve noticed that as of the last several weeks I am no longer able to see my meal swipe or dining dollar history (usage), even if I change the date range. What happened?

**Developer response:** Hi Namremag,
Thank you for letting us know! Can you submit a help ticket with us about that at https://go.illinois.edu/appfeedback

We had some issues with meal plan reporting recently but progress has been made. I believe it has been resolved but we can work with you to make sure.

thanks!

Tom

Not user friendly and does not easily meets needs of users.. please think through how to optimize it

### 1/5 — i go to wisconsin

*2023-01-20, version 4.2.47*

i go to wisconsin

### 2/5 — Literally unusable

*2023-01-16*

The app has been rendered entirely unusable on my iphone 7 as it logged me out due to a recent update, and upon my logging back in presented me with a screen to either opt in or opt out of on campus research participance. Unfortunately, this screen is not properly formatted for the size of my screen, with both the opt-in and opt-out buttons sitting below the bottom of the screen, effectively bricking the app for me since there is no way for me to provide any sort of input that might get rid of that screen, including turning on and off the app since it doesnt let you continue until you opt in or opt out. This is a tremendous oversight from an app so instrumental in conveniently keeping track of meal plan among many other uses

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you so much for leaving us a detailed description of the issue you encountered. This issue has been diagnosed and fixed, and the update is forthcoming. It seems to originate in the system font size. As a temporary solution, you might try setting fonts to a smaller size on your device display settings. Start the app again, and the banner should no longer take up the entire screen. The next update should eliminate the need to adjust your settings. Let us know if this information helps you out!

### 1/5 — Very clunky app

*2022-09-19, version 4.1.20*

This should be easier to use

### 1/5 — Bad

*2022-09-02, version 4.1.20*

Doesn’t let you sign in

### 2/5 — features > experience

*2022-09-01*

the login is only available after you turn the privacy settings to one of the highest numbers/least private setting... except once you set your privacy it doesn’t tell you that. Just takes away the login. Or the buttons to log in are the same, but just don’t work. Incredibly frustrating when the main function of the app before the update was just using it for ID, then changing most of the privacy features to not even include that.
It seems that a ton of new features were added to try to get students to use this app more often, instead of trying to understand what students actually use this app for. It feels like it’s all about as many features as they could think of, and it comes off incredibly overwhelming. The categorization is messy. Some of the features are interesting but I’ll still never use them.

**Developer response:** pineyblues – Thank you for reviewing the Illinois app. We are looking to clarify the requirements for signing in to the app with your NetID. Your response to this issue is really helpful to us. The purpose of the Illinois app is to feature resources for navigating the Illinois campus – such as a digital Illini ID, calendars, news feeds, and residential tools. We appreciate your feedback as it lets us know which features are most helpful, and how we can make the app do what you would like it to do. We hope that you'll continue to use the app and share your feedback with us.

### 1/5 — Illini ID

*2022-08-28*

Can’t find out how to login and access the Illini ID — i can’t login to the app anywhere??? can y’all fix this design issue…

**Developer response:** Struggle Monster – Thank you for reviewing the Illinois app. I agree that a design oversight might make it difficult to sign in with your NetID if your Privacy Settings are not already set to Level 4 or higher. We are currently looking into this issue and we hope to clarify the requirements. For now, please ensure that you have set your Privacy Level to 4. (Profile > My Profile > My App Privacy Settings). You must also set your role to University Student or University Employee (Profile > My Profile > Who Are You). Once these requirements are fulfilled, you will be prompted to sign in. Please come back and let us know if this advice helped resolve the issue!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2022-08-23, version 4.1.20*

Doesn’t work

### 1/5 — who will need this app if it's not for covid testing?

*2022-08-13, version 4.0.55*

I don't understand what is the purpose of the updates of this app. now I cannot find where to check the testing sites information on the latest version.

### 1/5 — Utility continues to decline

*2022-07-26, version 4.0.55*

This app is the perfect metaphor for the UIUC administration. Start with a workable solution to a problem affecting the entire campus: a simple app that helps control access to buildings during COVID-19. Then let everyone on campus add their pet project to the app and soon that set of random pet projects and project managers push the entire rationale for the app aside. So, now everyone on campus is using an app that has been redesigned to focus on promoting the athletic department and every other random activity on campus - COVID-19 and building access be damned.

Great work! /s

### 1/5 — Signing in problems

*2022-06-16, version 3.3.22*

It just fails signing in after last update.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is permanently crashed

*2025-08-23*

Constantly gets authentication token errors every time I open it.

### 1/5 — Incredibly mediocre!

*2025-08-23*

When it works, it does what it’s supposed to. That’s only when it works though, because half the time it’ll just be stuck loading for seemingly no reason. The UI is also pretty bad.

### 1/5 — Unable to login

*2024-10-04*

Like some of the reviews going back 2 years, this fundamental issue is still not resolved. I answered couple of privacy questions based on my preference and now I’m told I cannot login. There is no place in My Profile to go back and make changes to the privacy questions either. This is really frustrating.

**Developer response:** Hi xstarwinkle,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry you're having trouble logging in. Please open a support ticket with us and we can assist you.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2024-08-28*

The only way to sign into the NetID is by selecting “returning user” after freshly downloading the app.

The sign in button is missing from the dropdown in the profile page otherwise…

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. If you would like assistance in troubleshooting this issue, please contact us at https://help.uillinois.edu/

thank you!

### 1/5 — App keeps loading

*2024-08-28*

Once in a while, I’m just stuck on the app loading screen and I can’t get into the app. I can reinstall and the same thing happens.

**Developer response:** Thanks for trying the Illinois app! If you are still having issues logging in, reach out at https://help.uillinois.edu/.

We will do our best to help you.

thank you!

### 1/5 — Nothing works

*2024-08-22*

I can’t even log in my netID, and the maps are horrible. You can’t even swipe to move around the map.

**Developer response:** Thanks for leaving your feedback about the map. The latest update which came out over the Labor Day weekend, should fix this issue. If you are still having issues, reach out at https://help.uillinois.edu/.

thank you!

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-03-06*

The level of unimportant things on it is mind boggling. The Important stuff is hidden many screens below, and half of the important stuff doesn’t work (like MTD id)

**Developer response:** Thanks for contacting us!

If you are having issues with the Bus Pass feature of the app, I encourage you to contact the Technology Services Help Desk. We may be able to sort out the issue.

### 5/5 — This App is very Efficient

*2025-11-05*

I really enjoy using this app, it is very efficient!! ILL

### 5/5 — Great app feels like it’s made by students

*2024-01-30*

You did that with this app ngl!

### 5/5 — Review

*2022-10-23*

This app is very helpful

### 5/5 — Privacy control is wonderful

*2019-10-07, version 1.0.11*

Finally, I feel I have control of how much of my privacy I can trade off against useful functionality. If I change my mind they remove data based on my new privacy level. Any time I choose, they will remove all my personal data. This is a breakthrough way of dealing with my personal information. Thanks Illinois!

### 4/5 — Getting better!

*2022-11-01*

So far it’s better than it has been over the summer. I like the new features and I can check what’s at Dining. So it’s not that bad, but it’s also been updated.

### 3/5 — no map search bar

*2023-06-14*

you can’t search specific buildings/locations in the map which made it difficult to find certain places

**Developer response:** Hi Karbilly - Exciting news! I wanted to let you know about the search feature that enables you to find specific buildings and locations. You can access this feature under Map > Campus Buildings. If you have any questions or feedback regarding it, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

### 3/5 — Language Option in the App missing or hard to find

*2023-05-04*

I really like this app, but unfortunately, the default language on my phone is not English, and the app doesn't seem to have any language settings to switch it to English. The app's automatic translation feature is not very helpful, as it simply translates all the words without any revision or modification. As a result, it's difficult for me to understand the app, even though it's in my own language.

**Developer response:** Hi Stanley - We have heard you and others on this point. Version 5.0 has added the ability to override your phone's system language and use English. Go to Settings > My Language.
- Joe Grohens

### 3/5 — Lots to Fix

*2020-10-21, version 2.2.18*

I was able to fix the broken NetID buttons by changing the default browser to Safari (which shouldn’t have to happen). Meal counts still don’t update without signing out and in again.
