### 1/5 — Worst thing I’ve ever used

*2024-08-30*

My apartment switched to these from keypads and it’s nothing but a pain to use.

### 1/5 — I’d rather open my door by bashing my head against it.

*2024-08-19*

No. Just no.

### 1/5 — Worst digital lock i have ever used

*2024-07-20*

Yes, i know where the attena in my phone is. And it takes at least five times to use this lock

### 1/5 — This lock is horrible

*2024-04-24*

My apartment complex changed our key locks to these and they are the worst thing about my apartment. It takes me at least three tries to unlock my door every time I come home. It always says “communication with the lock suspended”. If I was being chased by a dangerous person I would be screwed and this lock would be to blame. I have never been more unhappy with a product in my entire life.

**Developer response:** Hi,
the NFC antenna may be in different places depending on the phone model. To check the location of the NFC antenna, refer to your phone’s operating instructions. Place your phone’s NFC antenna area close to the lock’s antenna knob. Please note that phone covers/cases may prevent the phone key from working properly.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2024-03-20*

When you find the sweet spot it works 80% of the time, but I’m always running into connectivity issues or some problem. I would certainly not recommend using this app if you can avoid it. A lock should work 100% of time

### 1/5 — never use this

*2024-02-28*

it barely works, and when it does it takes forever to scan

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE

*2024-02-13*

I live in an Appt of 4 people and this app has only worked on 1/2 of our phones to open the door and 1/4 of our phones to close and LOCK the door to our house. Huge safety risk and overall so inconvenient. Do NOT use.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-01-25*

Just doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Horrible…

*2024-01-25*

I would NEVER put this in my own home. The whole exchange between the lock and phone may seem ideal, but it comes with many caveats. It works 40% of the time and makes me feel unsafe as I can’t enter my home quickly. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

### 1/5 — Is awful

*2022-10-27, version 1.17*

Yeah your landlord will probably have it installed because their job is to makes everyone else life miserable. Awful app don’t use it, does not work . Currently locked out of my own home for like the 5 th time

### 1/5 — Great idea. Doesn’t work!!

*2022-08-24, version 1.16*

Seems like a great idea, and I can see how it was sold to companies. Just doesn’t work though. Takes multiple failures to lock and unlock sites, sometimes 1-2 hours. Hence why we turn up to many unlocked unsecured sites. Frustrating after traveling the length of the country to then not be able to gain access to sites. Bring back the combination padlocks.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2022-06-09, version 1.15*

Never works the most stupid app I’ve ever used

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-11-21, version 1.13*

Absolute rubbish. 9 times out of 10 you’ll be standing at the door with ‘access denied’ or ‘communication suspended’ popping up 15 times in a row as you try and open your door. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times my door has unlocked first time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible system

*2025-11-10*

I’m working as a contractor for a company that uses these locks and they’re just abysmal. Spent 20 minutes trying to unlock one… If you’re looking for something reliable, this ain’t it

### 1/5 — Unsafe

*2025-05-08*

This is an unsafe lock, absolutely ridiculous to wait for 10-20 seconds in front of your door just to lock it or to get inside. And most of these other reviews are correct if you are ever in a dangerous situation, you can forget getting back into your apartment/house quickly. Don’t move into a complex that has these or install it on your house!

### 1/5 — Ready to scan✅ Communication with lock suspended❗️

*2025-05-06*

I absolutely LOATHE this lock!!! I don’t know who I hate more, my apartment who installed this faulty device, or the people who didn’t do QC checks on these products when they were manufactured. I hope you go out of business

**Developer response:** Hi,
For further help with positioning your iPhone correctly, please watch this video. It provides clear guidance on the correct placement of the iPhone on the lock.

Additionally, please note that phone covers or cases may interfere with the phone key's functionality, so it's best to remove them when using the phone key.

### 1/5 — horrible.

*2025-01-06*

my apartment complex switched to this lock system and it honestly makes it impossible to lock or unlock my apartment. the only reason i would ever consider not living here is due to this horrible lock system.

### 1/5 — The Worst

*2024-12-11*

My apartment complex changed our locks to these and it’s the worst. It only works 50% of the time. There is no so-called “sweet spot”. I’m standing there like an idiot not able to get into my own apartment. There is no reason to change a door bolt to something electronic. Don’t fix something that’s not broken. Also, it’s ugly.

### 1/5 — Awful and Dangerous

*2024-12-10*

Got locked out after my building installed these new locks on a cold winters night. Absolutely terrible. I don’t want a “oh we’re sorry” BE BETTER. MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT.

### 1/5 — STAY AWAY

*2024-12-10*

This app is terrible, my apartment complex replaced the old (working) locks with these. It barely works even with the additional key fob. This awful lock is both an inconvenience and a safety hazard. I would never recommend this lock to anyone!

### 1/5 — Ready to scan✅

Communication with lock suspended

### 1/5 — Horrible lock

*2024-09-04*

My apartment complex the hill southview recently changed to these locks and even after a year of switching to these lock I still see people standing outside their door waiting for someone inside to open the door. They said only a few amount of key fobs were given to them so they are gatekeeping them from everybody. Lock is absolutely horrible

**Developer response:** Hi, we are sorry to hear about the troubles with iLOQ locks.
Please contact your locking system administrator / building management for further assistance. You can have a visit at their office and test your phone keys on one of the demo locks.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The way forward

*2025-09-05, version 2.4.0*

The future of locking systems, works really well battery free is a huge advantage.

### 5/5 — Sooooo impressed

*2024-11-12, version 2.2.0*

Been using for several months now and works every time, just hold your phone to lock for a few seconds to validate your access, and you’re in. Really clever as the doesn’t use batteries 😀

### 5/5 — Works every time.

*2024-11-12, version 2.2.0*

Don’t understand the reviews saying it doesn’t work. I’ve had it 2 years and not one problem. Once you know where your nfc aerial is on your phone it’s extremely easy.

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2024-03-18*

Works great, finding the “sweet spot” NFC on iPhone/Android devices is important. I open my locks every time with no issue.

### 5/5 — key-free

*2023-08-05, version 1.23*

Great product, app use is ideal for remote access. Surprised at the negative reviews, I find that if you have patience with the pairing of your phone and the lock it opens every time without fail, it is having to transmit power to the lock after all.

### 5/5 — Electronic key

*2022-07-29, version 1.15*

After learning to use my phone correctly this worked Every time without fail
