We took 3.5 hours! (There was a hot choc break!) really impressed with the games/ puzzles you had to do. There must have been about 12. The audio was well done. We played the Chester Monte murder mystery game around Telford and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The game ran smoothly and involved lots of fun challenges as a team! This did not disappoint. Rounded up the family and did the Telford one. We all had so much fun and found the concept brilliant. Got the steps in too! Can’t wait to try other mysteries in other cities! Revolutionary idea with an escape room feel to it! An easy interactive app and a great way to get everyone involved walking around the city. Great clues and the puzzles were a mix of easy and not so easy. We loved that Chester Monte, the detective, spoke to you and read out the clues so you didn’t have to read them, though you could if you wanted to. A great fun day out. ### 5/5 — A murder mystery in Leicester *2023-12-31* Downloaded this as a recommendation from friends. Wasn’t sure what to expect but turned out to be great fun, we played the detective Chester Monte game in Leicester. The game play works really well and having the different characters talk to you makes it so much easier to play than having to read everything. The puzzles all have different levels of difficulty, it helped that there was a few of us as the puzzles and clues all played into different people’s skills. We played right to the end although we had an inkling of who done it, good job we didn’t submit it early as we were wrong 😀. Overall if your into puzzles, enjoy playing Cluedo and enjoy a good walk I’d highly recommend playing. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Glitchy *2026-07-06* I was playing with my family and the game kept glitching not letting me skip logging people out ### 1/5 — Trespassing *2026-01-01* Almost half the locations were located on private property and 2 were on a main road. Not exactly safe for kids or pleasant for some of the residents, one of which had put up “no public access” sign and witches hats blocking off the exact zone needed for this apps puzzle. ### 1/5 — It was good *2025-11-09* Cuz of this I had to hold my pee for half an hour (: ### 1/5 — Mediocre adventure *2025-08-24* Could not zoom in and out of puzzles. The eye ball puzzle did not work well especially if you had multiple phones. App did not give you the right answer if you missed it. Zero interaction with the environment. ### 2/5 — Great concept- poor app performance *2026-07-12* We did this in the summer in the US. At the start, we wondered if the murder mystery was the fact that we would be murdered. It was set in a very industrial area. Some areas did not have sidewalks so we stood on the road. The app was very glitchy and we struggled with the app registering that we were in the locations needed to trigger evidence or interviews. We were constantly closing the app out and even started rebooting our phones. It was extremely frustrating. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because the app support was very prompt. Unfortunately, the support advice given did not solve our problem and when I sent details of all of our issues, there was no further response. I hope they can improve the app because it is a great concept. We normally attempt escape rooms but wanted to try something new and challenging. From the beginning the instructions were clear , the apps easy to download and all the details were included in our follow up email. We really enjoyed this, the puzzles linked to the game were different each stage of the game challenging memory, maths , pattern recognition and sight!
