Ads are long and you cant use the app until the ad stops playing. Ads are huge and will use a lot if data!!! The recognition itself ads random numbers and symbols and requires every single word to be corrected - NOT GOOD. And I'm talking about printed text on white paper. I was NOT prompted ahead of time and DID NOT press any buttons to purchase anything. I had my thumb on the home button so before I realized what was happening, I had purchased some garbage crap content from this sneaky garbage app. Sad. Right after you open, it shows a big ads and you can't use till it finish. Every move opens and ads. Awful user experience ### 1/5 — Too many ads *2016-11-28, version 3.2.0* The app itself is not bad. I would say it was able to convert my PDF/book pages into text at about 80% accuracy. The real problem with this app is the number of ads that pop up. I've never had an app with that many pop up ads. There was a new ad almost every time I tried to scan a new page. Also, some of the ads had to play for 5 seconds before it allowed you to close it. ### 1/5 — Crash Crash Crash *2016-10-13, version 3.1* This app does not work on iPhone 7 +. As soon as I try to load an image from my gallery it crashes to the home screen. Don't bother with this app. ### 1/5 — Two Thumbs Down *2016-05-22, version 1.0* The idea of this app is great! But it's SO hard to get a picture that will actually transfer into legible text. It took longer to take multiple pictures in an attempt to get the the text than it would have been to actually read the book. I'm using an iPhone so it's not like I'm using a crappy camera. It would constantly change words into icons like "---/..-" I unfortunately purchased the upgraded $9.99 version in hopes it would work better which it did not. ONLY 9.99$ A MONTH!!! with a small grey line saying to continue with standard mode. it took me a while to even find the way out of the popup because the line is not at all button like and is also light grey text on a white background. after this, you will notice big PREMIUM buttons scattered around. finally, I get to the app and it totally scrambles my text, and upon trying to rescan it the popup comes up again, only this time it’s blocking me from scanning the text a second time. I went onto the app, and immediately there was an ad that said that I could pay $10 for no ads, the only thing is, I can’t exit this ad without paying $10. There’s no ‘X button’ no ‘skip button’ or anything else. Maybe it’s just my phone, but I don’t know. Wow, fantastic work, you stupid app. ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — It did its job *2019-02-27, version 3.3.6* I downloaded this for a single use when I was feeling lazy this evening and didn’t want to manually type something I couldn’t copy/paste into a translator. Granted, I used a screenshot, so that was an advantage. Regardless, it worked quickly and almost perfectly, and I’ll probably use it again in the future. ### 4/5 — Works Well *2016-05-04, version 1.0* I used this to study for my exams. I took text from my textbooks and pasted them onto online flash cards. Converts image to text well, except for when there are pictures in the way, then you get quite a jumble of stuff. Wishing it was free. ### 3/5 — Crashing *2019-02-27, version 3.3.6* I really liked this app. The way it transfers images to text is awesome, and is helpful when I needed to have text read to a student. It worked like a dream for 20 pages. Now, it crashes right after it turns the image to text. I have only used this app for two days. I’ve closed all apps and have restarted the device, but it is still crashing. I paid for this app, so I am hoping the glitches get resolved. **Developer response:** Hello!
