### 3/5 — It works

*2019-11-25, version 1.3*

A bit always to use but as of yet it hasn’t limited the number of scans I can make, tried to force me into some subscription, and is able to work offline when needed.

### 4/5 — Very accurate. Almost perfect!

*2024-11-15, version 1.3*

Allow us the option to purchase (remove ads) and this would be a perfect, simple OCR scanner.

Meets my needs better than other apps that I’ve tried.

### 4/5 — Amazing for a free app

*2018-10-20, version 1.3*

The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that it mixed the paragraphs for one of the pages I photographed. But it did an amazing job otherwise

### 5/5 — Simple!

### 5/5 — Great app

So far, it enabled me to extract text from a pic and send it to Pages, where I can edit it.

### 5/5 — Possibly the only free real OCR app in the App Store!

*2020-08-29, version 1.3*

This app has ads but that shouldn’t be a surprise as it is the free version. You can immediately close them so they do not hold you up. Quick description of the beautiful simplicity of the app for those deciding whether to download:

•First screen: Two buttons. One to take a photo with the app and one to use a photo from your gallery.

•Next Screen: You crop the desired text.

•Final Screen: Two buttons. One to copy the text to the clipboard and one to bring up the share menu.

That’s it. You’re done.

And that’s all I’ve wanted an app to do for the last five years.

I have tried probably 15 or more apps that claim to scan in text or business cards and have OCR capability. in every single case the ability to export the text, or even use the OCR function was a paid upgrade. There are many apps that will scan text on a paper in and format it really nicely, but you will need to pay to get real OCR in an app...but...

This app is the exception! And I am very happy to have found it!

Again, for those wondering if they should download it, it is extremely simple and has no extra features or bells and whistle‘s that will take time to figure out.

The OCR isn’t always perfect and there aren’t any tools to try to fix it. But I have found cropping the image slightly closer can change the outcome. With the share menu you are able to save the text to any app and also message the text to your contacts.

Lastly, I want to thank the developer for making a straightforward product that actually performs OCR for free. I will gladly take an ad popping up for a half second so that you see some revenue for this.
