### 4/5 — Won’t log in to Gmail error

*2021-02-04, version 10.12.1*

All attempts to use this app to read email are now met with an error that “this browser is unable to log into Gmail due to lack of JavaScript” or something to that effect. In other words, the app seems to have died. Used it for nearly a decade before it died. :-(

### 3/5 — Images are not displaying

*2020-03-04, version 10.12.1*

For a while now, images do not display in iMailG but they do in other email apps. How do I fix this?

### 4/5 — Overall a great app

*2018-06-29, version 10.10.8*

The closest features to the desktop interface and most accessible in an app. I would like audible alerts without having to pay for them. But I just run the native gmail app in the background for that.

### 1/5 — Passcode Protection Stopped Working

*2018-05-14, version 10.10.1*

Even after I shelled out money to keep ads from appearing, the Passcode protection feature just stopped working today, and no matter how many times I try to turn it back on, it won’t stick. Tried killing the app, restarting my phone, nothing would make it stick again. Just allows anyone to go right into my account, without prompting for my passcode now. The whole reason I got this app, and now it’s not working.

### 1/5 — Adequate but...

*2017-11-11, version 10.10.1*

This is an adequate app. My complaint is that the developers no longer respond to paying customer questions. They used to. I no longer use this app. There are better out there.

### 1/5 — iMailG for Gmail

*2017-10-28, version 10.10.1*

Lack of user friendly features keep this app from being a great app. To delete messages must mark each message. There’s no mark all feature. Same for deleting messages in trash. There is no empty trash feature! Must mark every message to delete it. If these features are available they are not easily found. They should be default features!

### 4/5 — Great app for Gmail

*2017-10-08, version 10.10.1*

After Gmail made changes to their app I went looking for an app that had more functions, some that Google has removed from their mobile version. This is a good option. I wish they would provide more tools, like being able to set up filters, but overall it is much more robust than the wimpy Gmail mobile app.

### 3/5 — Push Notifications

*2017-08-19, version 10.10.1*

When are you going to make the push notifications work on the iPhone?.. it hasn't worked since day one of me using your app which is been almost a year and a half..

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2016-11-22, version 10.9.3*

Mildly buggy at times but it's fantastic overall.

### 1/5 — -45

*2016-08-01, version 10.9.2*

Won't open- crashes instantly!! Help!

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2016-07-26, version 10.9.2*

Used to be great. Used to have excellent customer service. No more. Haven't had the sound alert for emails in weeks. Sent several emails to tech support and have heard nothing, when I used to get a response in a few hours. Don't waste your money here until these issues are fixed. There are other apps that do nearly the same thing and actually work. I've been a customer for many years and this is extremely disappointing.

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2016-07-25, version 10.9.2*

Edited to add on 7/24: two app updates later, PUSH *still* doesn't work. I've also sent a couple more emails to tech support and still have gotten no reply. What happened to iMailG? It just stinks now!!!

I love this app most of the time, but since I paid for lifetime PUSH notifications, I expect it to work all the time. The latest update broke something as I cannot get notifications - AT ALL. I've sent three emails to tech support, which is usually great, and gotten no reply. This is just maddening!!! >:-(

### 1/5 — Needs repair

*2016-07-19, version 10.9.2*

New update I've got no push notifications, tried reinstall log out all the steps nothing works. Their email server isn't responding to help emails. Really inconvenient I keep missing important emails. They updated the app and still nothing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer any good

*2026-04-09, version 10.14.7*

This used to be a great app for many years, but since it hasn’t been updated in 3 years, I can no longer send outgoing mail from within the app. I can only receive incoming mail. This started with recent updates to IOS 26. I contacted the developer and received no response.

### 1/5 — Lack of Encrypted help search

*2025-07-08, version 10.14.7*

Having literally just downloaded this application, whilst my iOS device had been routinely compromised by the Australian Government (and privately sourced affiliates) I was of the belief that by attempting to engage with the “?” or “Help” option within the application, it would at least proceed to do so via encrypted means, however, this is not the case, with two seperate notifications on my device warning of an “insecure” and “unencrypted” site which I was directly forwarded to via your application. I will proceed to delete said application upon the conclusion of this review. Thanks.

### 1/5 — IMailG no longer opens!

*2023-05-09, version 10.14.7*

Google keeps preventing me from viewing my messages. Wants me to switch to new gmail version App
Unless you do, your emails are blocked
This has been happening off & on for a couple years. However this time I can’t get back in

### 1/5 — App good, support awful

*2021-03-25, version 10.12.1*

The app itself is good, but support is non-existent. Emails aren’t answered, and webpage is of limited help. I’ve used this for years, but time to dump it. Save your $.

### 1/5 — Very Few Push Notifications

*2019-10-01, version 10.12.1*

No one ever replies to my emails for one thing. Second, I rarely get push notifications. The emails come to the app but no ringtone! I paid for this app so this is very frustrating!

### 1/5 — Doing nothing

*2019-07-11, version 10.11.0*

Type my email with password then confirm, asking again not ready yet

### 1/5 — Recent change horrible!!

*2019-01-22, version 10.10.10*

I have been using this application for years. It has always been my favorite for Gmail. Now, all of a sudden, the reviews are all missing has been reset to zero. I know why. I’m sure tons of people, like myself, have now written horrible reviews.

Recently I have been deluged with advertisements that pop up and take over the whole screen. I can get rid of them if I pay more money, but don’t wish to continue to pay more. And I don’t wish to change the way the application was, as I was not paying to get rid of these ads.. Also every time I turn it on and try to change the font to something reasonable, it tells me that I can’t use this action unless I dismiss it or pay to use that all the time. Changing the font? Really? That is where they want to make her stand on the word to charge you or make you dismiss the entire thing every time?

Although it has been a great application until now, I will just go back and use the Gmail application which is free and still a great one.

### 1/5 — Too inconvenient

*2018-12-07, version 10.10.10*

Super long ads you can’t exit from. A bit complicated to set up the passcode.

### 1/5 — IOS is Easier

*2018-11-11, version 10.10.10*

I don’t like the way gmail sorts messages. It is also not intuitive how to forward or reply when you want to change a previous message.

IOS is just easier.

### 1/5 — Obnoxious Ads

*2018-06-24, version 10.10.8*

I used this app for years. It was fine and I didn’t mind the 5 second ads I had to look at until I could read my email. They have added a 60 second blackjack ad that you can’t close. Done with this app. Downloaded a new app for reading my gmail.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thrilled IMAILG is back in on track!

*2021-08-03, version 10.12.4*

I find IMAILG is my favorite email app. I especially like that you can search for a specific mail; search for all instances of that mail; then Select All and easily file them.
Over the the past year the app hasn’t worked well consistently. I wasn’t able to access developer support to address the problem.
Well … recently the developer has been very responsive ~~ the app works beautifully. Yay!

### 5/5 — Longtime user: still a great app

*2018-11-16, version 10.10.10*

I’ve been using iMailG for years and absolutely love it. It interfaces with gmail to do exactly what I want, with very few problems or irritating features, and keeps the gmail features that I know and love.

### 5/5 — IV

*2018-01-19, version 10.10.1*

I like this app keep up the good work Gmail

### 5/5 — Best gmail/google apps for business App

*2017-10-09, version 10.10.1*

I prefer this app hugely over googles mail app. I am using the Imailg app because it directly interfaces with my Google account and I like the fact that I can access all of the Google apps I use directly from the imailG app including Chrome. On my IPad It works great! I get the push notifications on my iPad but not my iPhone which is the only negative.

10-9-2017 update. When I upgraded to iOS 11 I started getting push notifications on my iPhone! Love this app!

### 5/5 — Works great

*2017-02-03, version 10.9.3*

I'm not sure what problem zero stars is having, but my Push continues to work just fine. This has been my main mail app for several years. I use it instead of iOS mail for all my gmail addresses. Tried iOS mail and gmail's own app - still prefer this one.

### 5/5 — Easy Peasy

*2017-01-12, version 10.9.3*

So easy to use and to read. Not bogged down with hard to figure extras. I just want to read and delete my mail, and occasionally reply.

### 5/5 — iMailG EXCELLENT Gmail app!

*2016-11-22, version 10.9.3*

Does what it says. Seems better than the Gmail app with the red "M" but wish there was a setting less than the 125% font size.

### 5/5 — Review

*2016-07-18, version 10.9.0*

Don't waste your time on this app. No push notifications as they say, I paid for lifetime push notifications and don't get any, now push is free and still won't work, they don't respond to e mails, it's a ripoff

### 5/5 — Now Working … Problem With PUSH

*2016-01-02, version 10.7.11*

Push notification does not work, it worked for a while and then stopped.

Despite a number of times of contacting support, do not even get a response back.

That said, except for the PUSH, which is now included for free, it is a good mail app.

In the past, support was much better … hope this does not mean the app will wither on the vine

PUSH suddenly started working again

### 5/5 — Hmm

*2015-06-05, version 10.7.9*

I'm shocked the reviews are so bad because I love this app & have used it for years
