No One remembers Movies from 1926. But, I own The Wizard of Oz, because it was viewed when the Family got together. I’d say out of 250 Movies, at least 75 should be removed. Unless You’re 100 years old, Birth of a Nation 1916, You wouldn’t have seen it, 100 year old movie 🎥 ### 2/5 — Nothing but a data grab *2026-08-25, version 16.10.1* Used to be a really great source for tv & movie information. Now, you have to sign in to see reviews & other things. You know this is just so they can sell more of your information. ### 4/5 — Where’s the Gaming Love? *2026-08-24, version 16.10.1* Give Gaming More Prominence One thing I’d really like to see improved is the way the app promotes video games. The app does a great job of showcasing films and TV shows, but gaming doesn’t seem to get the same level of attention. I’d love to see more games featured throughout the app, whether that’s new releases, popular games, upcoming titles or recommendations based on what you’ve played and rated. Even better, I think having a dedicated gaming section on the Home Screen would be a fantastic addition. It would make it much easier for gamers to discover new titles and would give games the same level of visibility that films and TV already receive. Considering how popular gaming is, I think it deserves to be a much bigger part of the app. I’d personally love to open the app and see not only what’s new in film and television, but also what’s happening in the gaming world. ### 4/5 — Why Remove “Preferred Services” Sorting? *2026-08-21, version 16.10.1* I love IMDB it’s my go-to for logging and discovering movies but I used to be able to sort my watchlist by movies that are on my preferred services. Now I cannot and I have to click through every movie to see what it’s streaming on. ### 2/5 — Rubbish update *2026-08-18, version 16.10* IMDb was updated and is so much worse than before. When you search the box appears at the bottom and is see thru making it difficult to use. When you search for a person it only shows a small amount of films/tv programs they have been in, When you search for a film or program you only see about 20 names in the cast list. This is the largest and most thorough existing database of media information. Its integration and linking is superb. Pro 2. Users can create and manage personal and/or public lists. Pro 3. Filtering and sorting options within searches and lists are plentiful and work well. Con 1. “Where To Watch” streaming info is not reliable nor is there a way to filter by a streamer’s tiered plans. Con 2. While there have been improvements, tracking your place in a series is still manual and repetitive. Con 3. It was good before. ### 3/5 — Hostile design *2026-08-12* When you open the app, it takes a solid 5 seconds for anything to load. After which you are met with ads upon sponsored content that you must scroll for a while to actually see the movies and shows. The app is unpolished and littered with amazons huge banner style ads. While there are nice features and stats, very few end up knowing of their existence simply because of how hidden anything useful is located. I request the devs to take a page or two out of letterboxd app design please. ### 2/5 — Reading reviews shouldn’t require login *2026-08-11, version 16.9.1* It’s ridiculous to require a login just to read reviews beyond the ones they cherry pick for you. ### 4/5 — Latest update *2026-08-10, version 16.9.1* I normally hate writing reviews and only do so when a rating is outrageously low due to people who require spoon fed storytelling. With this latest update a glitch occurs when attempting to write a review. The screen refreshes erasing what has been written. This leaves me uninteresting in attempting to persuade those who unfortunately need to read reviews to find out whether they should be interested in something they clearly already are as they are looking into it. Overall IMDB is still a great tool to keep track of what one has watched and wants to watch. ### 4/5 — Needs extra characters *2026-08-10, version 16.9.1* When writing a review sometime I find it’s only a few lines but sometimes I do go on about the show , can the characters on the review about movie / show page be cut to 150 - 200 characters please , cause sometimes I to think up sentences to add just to “publish” the review. ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2026-08-10, version 16.9.1* I used to love this app - one of my most frequently used apps. But now, it’s terrible. Search is clunky and slow. Reviews are now hidden - one of the best features was accessibility to reviews, but that is now gone. There are too many ads. Everything that made IMDB great has been diluted, removed, or made harder to get to. One more app down the drain. ### 3/5 — Sorting is out of whack *2026-08-09, version 16.9.1* I enjoy the app overall and use it all the time BUT when you go into a persons credits, I have it sorted by Most Recent. I just did this for Melanie Lynskey for instance because she looked familiar. I had to scroll allll the way to the bottom and the last entry was for Yellowjackets, one of her latest gigs. It was right below a credit from 1996 & 1994. ?!? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — notifications now? *2026-08-26, version 16.10.1* IMDB is my most-used app. I love keeping up with new movie news, trailers, etc. After the recent update, I now have one of those ubiquitous red badges that I have to clear every time I open it by opening a page of notifications which are just ads. It’s a small thing, but it sucks to see another cool app go the way of the attentions economy and incorporate the same bothersome elements that make everything else more stressful and less fun to use. I’m looking for an alternative now. Probably Letterboxd? Anyone have suggestions for other apps to keep watch data and see new trailers, etc? ### 1/5 — Flashing lights, page jumping, hazardous *2026-08-21, version 16.10.1* Wow, I can't believe what this app has became. Using this app, with all of its hiccups, flashes, jumping, etc. is bad for humans health.
