### 4/5 — Abandoned?

*2024-03-26*

This is a great piece of software but it seems to have been abandoned, no updates for almost a year now and it’s clear they put all their resources for the iPad version of Luminar as that gets regular updates. It’s still good but what’s the point of a subscription to a service that is no longer being updated? The whole point of subscriptions is to get a constant stream of content and updates to justify it. Hopefully they’ll return to this app and update it in the future.

### 3/5 — Need an undo option in erasing

*2023-03-06*

Need an undo option in erasing.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for posting your feedback. We will keep track of similar requests and make sure all of them are reported to a relevant team for consideration. Hopefully, this function can be added in the future. Appreciate your input!

### 2/5 — Saves edits in VERY LOW RESOLUTION.

*2023-02-25, version 1.4.2*

I use this on my 11” iPad Pro and speed seems ok. Power line removal works well, sky replacement works well except no reflections in water scenes. I could not find a sharpen slider in the edit settings. The biggest thing that makes this unusable is that edits are saved as 2M files regardless of original file size. This noticeably reduces sharpness and details. It seems this software was meant to be used on small screen devices like smartphones where the resolution would not be as noticeable. Until the edited files can be saved in full, original resolution I cannot recommend this software. I am looking forward this being corrected in a future update. I am currently a Luminar Neo user and have been happy with Skylum updating software making it function better.

### 2/5 — Less that Beta quality

*2023-02-25, version 1.4.2*

I am a happy user of Luminar Neo and love their products. However this app is no where near ready to be released to the general public. I performed many edits to an image then pressed the + for a new image and the new image loaded, totally discarding my edits on the previous image without warning. To save an edited image you have to know that you have to select the share icon and select Save Image from the dropdown list, rather than a save button. There is no standard undo option from the all the editing options like exist in Neo. The app does not follow standard Apple interface guidelines or the interface examples of the other Luminar products. Based on my experience with the other Luminar products I paid the one time fee as soon as I loaded the app and am regretting it now. I rotated an image and saved it, the app saved a new copy of the original unrotated image.

**Developer response:** We do understand that there is a lot to do to improve the app and we have already forwarded all the customer's feedback to our tech team to make the app better. Please, accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

### 4/5 — Potential

*2023-02-25, version 1.4.2*

The user interface is horrible. There is no menu. There’s no back. There’s just very basic buttons. But there should be menu something?

**Developer response:** Hi Paul,
Sorry to hear that the UI was not intuitive enough. Currently, we offer only one menu: it includes all the editing tools and can be accessed by swiping up. I shared your comments with a relevant team.

### 4/5 — Good Start

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.2*

As is I think it needs a few more features to be worth the price. But, what it does have it does very well.

**Developer response:** Appreciate your review. Definitely, there is always some space to grow. I made sure our development team is aware of your comment.

### 4/5 — Not bad out of the gate

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.2*

As a Luminar NEO user I was hoping for such a product to be released. It’s pretty good for a first release. It will need updates to make it superb. The erase tool is hit or miss. Subjects with clean surroundings will fare better. It needs an undo button, however. Restore is useful for small corrections but tedious for global undo. Might be nice to have an apply button too. Sky replacement is very good. I will be playing around with this app for a while. Congrats on a very decent app, Skylum!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and all the support, I will forward all the information to our tech department so they can improve the app accordingly.

### 3/5 — Pretty good so far!

*2023-01-22, version 1.4.0*

Based on the high-quality Skylum brand, and due to the fact that I love their Luminar Neo MacBook software, I went ahead and purchased for one-time fee. Upon first use, here are my impressions: Auto-enhance works great! There aren’t very many features available right now (no sharpen, denoise, etc.), but seeing that this is a new app, hopefully more features will be added in the future. I am so happy that Skylum has come to iPad Pro, as that’s where I spend 99% of my photo-editing time. Big problem: Upon editing, resolution drops from 12 mp to 7 mp! This needs to be fixed as soon as possible!

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for your feedback! Regarding the resolution, we'd appreciate it if you could submit a report to our support team at support@skylum.com.

### 2/5 — No comparison to Luminar AI

*2022-11-13, version 1.3.3*

The Filters have silly names (C1, C2…) and wether no changes or extrem color cast. There is no option to select the strength of the filter. Even iOS is better.

The AI enhancement works, but is no comparison to Luminar AI. This is great! But I don’t want to use the Mac all the time.

The only thing that’s okay is the sky replacement. But it’s not good. There is no mirror from the sky to water or reflecting buildings. The mood of the image is not adapted (for example sunset), so it looks like bad photoshopped.

**Developer response:** Hi! We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed. We will keep improving our app with each update. And if you encounter any issues with the tools, please contact our support team at support@skylum.com so we could sort it out for you!

### 3/5 — Love it… But…

*2022-10-31, version 1.3.2*

Love the app and features the only problem is only export on jpg at 2mp 1473x1964, that is really a bummer so I stop to using it.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for leaving your feedback here, I'll pass it on to our devs.

### 3/5 — Need more default skies.

*2022-10-09, version 1.2.0*

There are too few skies to choose from. I would like to see more added please.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not Free

*2023-05-05*

As a paid customer for Skylum there is no reason to also pay for this app. It needs to be free for those that paid. As much as we spend. This company fails to provide the basics

**Developer response:** Hi! Appreciate you sharing your feedback. I made sure to forward it to our product team. However, please kindly note that Imgmi is a different app, not a mobile version of Luminar, thus, we do not provide it to Luminar users for free. We appreciate your understanding!

### 1/5 — Great start…but

*2023-02-27, version 1.4.2*

I try to support your company but there is no excuse for not telling us you are turning a 12mpix image into a 7mpix image. It may be a better edited image but …

### 1/5 — Fix your problems

*2023-02-26, version 1.4.2*

I have a 7 days free trial and if I want to buy the app one time I don’t have that option, only yearly.

### 1/5 — Subscription

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.2*

I was going to give this a try but a subscription screen with very little info as to what I get for my money. Don’t understand the pricing structure so I have decided to skip Imgmi. I tried to find more info about Imgmi at website but found nothing there. I have other software from Skylum but I have never saw them do this before. Strange.

**Developer response:** Hi there,
We do offer the trial in general. Note that you need to select one of the plans first to start the free version. You can choose the purchase option once the trial ends too. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact us via support@skylum.com

### 1/5 — Instant paywall

*2022-10-05, version 1.2.0*

I want to be able to give a review about how well the app works but you’re met with a pay wall subscription as soon as the app opens up. How am I supposed to do know if it’s worth paying for if I can’t do anything at all. You need to add some free edit features so people can see how well the app actually works

### 1/5 — Can’t get past the 1st (subscription) screen

*2022-07-14, version 1.0*

App opens to the standard ransomeware page, Monthly, Yearly, and one time purchase page. Free trial only for the yearly subscription. Figured for $4.99 I’d try it for a month, but when I hit the Continue button, nothing happens. Have tried it on all the options, you just can’t get into the app.

### 2/5 — This is so bad - where is Neo?

*2023-11-03*

I can’t adjust the quality of the exports and the controls are so bad. I just want luminar neo on iPad. This is soooo far from that experience that it’s crazy. Luminar neo presets that I’ve already bought transferring over here to iPad would be an amazing experience. Maybe someday.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! We have already passed your useful suggestions on to the team.

### 2/5 — Saves edits in VERY LOW RESOLUTION.

*2023-04-12*

How do you turn the software off?

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! Definitely, it can always be improved, so I shared your feedback with our developers.

### 2/5 — Half an editor

*2023-03-29*

This is really disappointing coming from the company behind Luminar. It feels really half baked. I love that some of their AI tools have made it in.

The good:
- The interface is intuitive.
- The AI tools are great.
These are alone are almost worthy of 5 stars

Things that need to be improved:
- Export: only 80% quality jpeg is awful. Let me export HEIC (this need to be done on all Skylum apps - but especially an iPhone app) and let me select the compression quality. HEIC can support lossless - please allow this.
TIFF support would be great too!

- I have no clue how much I’ve edited a photo so I can replicate it on another photo. There are no numbers or ways of measuring how much saturation I’ve applied or how much of anything I’ve done.

- sharpening and grain are missing. I thought these were default tools on all photo editing stuff.

These very basic features are available in tons in FREE editors.
These grievances are worthy of losing 3 stars.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback! We have already passed your useful suggestions on to the team.

### 2/5 — Needs better home page

*2023-03-08*

The home page is useless. Has not information about pricing and the product. Get a better home page

**Developer response:** Hi! We appreciate your feedback! However, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@skylum.com.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I wish this were new ipad app

*2024-03-16*

I love this app! But I wish the new ipad app worked as smooth as this one

### 5/5 — Great Beginning

*2023-04-10*

A nice app with many tools from earlier Luminars. It would be great to have full integration with Apple Photo as with Luminar. Sky replacement is quick. I would love to see the ability to add dodge and burn. The iPad has a wonderful tool with the Apple Pencil, I would love to see support for this potentially powerful tool. I am excited to see this powerful app develop.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for the 5-star review! We have passed your feature request on to the team.

### 5/5 — One little suggestion

*2023-03-17*

Hi, Imgmi’s developer! Could you please make the cutout tool have abundant application scenarios? I mean I’d remove and replace all types of backgrounds, not just the sky. I’m thankful to you for seeing the need.

**Developer response:** Hi! - Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. We'll pass them on to our product team for their further consideration.

### 5/5 — Question about pricing

*2023-02-26, version 1.4.2*

I really like what I have had an opportunity to experience with imgmi. I use Neo on my MBPro so I am accustomed to your fine products. I would like to make a one-time purchase of imgmi at the listed $24.99 price. There is a confusing pricing list in my Apple subscriptions with three different prices for a year. There is no listing for a one-time purchase. Please help me to do figure this out

### 5/5 — Not a bad start at all

*2023-02-24, version 1.4.2*

App has a very fluid interface, and the tools are intuitive and effective. I hope to see more options added (sharpening for sure).

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your positive feedback with us!

### 5/5 — Great mobile editing tools

*2023-02-24, version 1.4.2*

Wonderful edition to the Skylum product line! Easy to use photo editing right on your mobile device.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind words and feedback!

### 5/5 — New AI app on iPhone

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.2*

I just installed on my phone and having fun! Nice set of tools for enhancing and fixing photos. Easy to use and good start. I like Luminar Neo, in general, and IMGI tool kit will be handy in the field. Good stuff, Skylum!

**Developer response:** Great! Happy to hear you enjoy it. Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2022-12-25, version 1.3.6*

Im really impressed ... it really works... and it doesn't require any skills at all(since I have none).

Totally worth it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

**Developer response:** Hi! Thank you for the feedback - we are happy to hear that you enjoy using our app :) Have a wonderful holiday season and many many great photos!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2022-12-14, version 1.3.5*

Removes unneeded objects that’s good, but sky replacement is another level for my travel and selfie photos

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for your feedback! We are great to hear you enjoy our app:)
