### 4/5 — Very good app

*2026-08-01, version 5.07*

I like the way this app lays out the readings, it is easy on the eyes. I love the short descriptions of the Saints that I have purchased along with this original app. It is excellent to have the readings off-line, unlike other apps.

### 2/5 — Wished it worked better

*2026-07-31, version 5.07*

I love the reading to me mode but it hardly works

### 3/5 — Good app, needs help

*2026-07-22, version 5.06*

Good app for daily readings, but audio option to listen to readings narrated does not work most of the time. When in dark mode, the Bible verse and chapter is not visible like it was in previous versions.

### 3/5 — Where did the author chapter and verse go?

*2026-07-12, version 5.06*

For many years the app worked great, but now with the latest update, it is missing chapter, verse, and author for the Readings and Gospel. Suddenly there is no author or where to locate the readings in the Bible. This is important, as one of the criticism of Catholicism is a failure of its adherents to know chapter and verse when discussing God’s Word.

### 2/5 — New format is worse

*2026-07-05, version 5.06*

Why did they make the text wrap differently? Why, when I pick the date, I cannot maximize the readings panel? I tap the teeny-tiny ‘X’ to expand the readings panel and it’s like the button doesn’t work at all. Then when I tap really fast, my iPad thinks I am trying to minimize the window.. Angry, but trying to sin not.

### 4/5 — At last

*2026-06-20, version 5.05*

I really welcome the update to the iMissal. I hope they will continue to update the text by including the various prephases for the Eucharistic prayers. I really like the new appearance.

### 2/5 — Eucharistic Prayers Now Included, but Prefaces Missing or Causing Errors

*2026-06-02, version 5.05*

After Updates 5.05, the Eucharistic prayers are now available. However, the preferences do not appear for some Sundays (June 7, 2026). Or, when a link to a preface does appear, clicking on the link scrolls to the top of the missal for that day. This is the case for both the iPhone and iPad versions of this app. Still some work to go here, but we are hopeful. This app is great when it works, but is only worthy of 2 stars the way it is presently functioning.

### 4/5 — Update Eliminated Mass Responses

*2026-05-02, version 5.01*

Love this app. However today was my first time staying home sick while using the app to follow along with mass livestream. There were several parts of the mass that were missing, including responses. I encourage the developers to follow along with mass to discover all that’s missing, including what the priest is saying and congregation responses. Previous version of app was 5 stars. … Also, since all churches are required to pray for vocations at the end of mass, please consider adding that prayer at the end of mass, so participation is easy. It takes too long to find it in my photos (unless I think ahead before mass and remember to pull it up first).

### 2/5 — The Rosary

*2026-04-24, version 5.01*

Can we add the Rosary to this app

### 4/5 — Great Missal

*2026-04-21, version 5.01*

This app is a great tool for following along with mass. I am disappointed that the links to all of the eucharistic prayers have been removed. It was nice to switch to the one when the priest was saying a different prayer.

### 4/5 — Missing Eucharist Prayers

*2026-04-19, version 5.01*

I have been using the app for years and with the new update there are missing parts like,
No alternative Eucharist Prayers, no Antiphons and when you go to help function it leads nowhere despite tapping on it. Please, can you fix this?

### 4/5 — Missing Eucharist Prayers

### 4/5 — Very helpful

*2026-03-29, version 5.0*

I attend Mass daily and use iMissal often. The full version with notes is fine, but full version without notes gets the concise version.

### 2/5 — New icons

*2026-03-28, version 5.0*

The new icons are too big, they take up too much space. Also there’s no way to give feedback.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Audio

*2026-07-23, version 5.06*

I really like this app. But here of late the audio is not working. Is there an update to fix this issue ? Thanks

### 1/5 — Went down hill

*2026-06-30, version 5.06*

I have had this app for a very long time. I have always used it and I have always enjoyed it. However, today when I went to open up the readings, they no longer list the books and chapters of the Bible for each reading. They just start off with “First reading”??? Where are they at, Old Testament?New Testament? Acts of the apostles? Corinthians? Where are they at? You have no idea, especially, if you are like me and you are just starting to really want to read the Bible. I want to go back and check the verses and read more. I can no longer do that with this app. If I am wrong and I am just not seeing it, please correct me and I will change my review. But for now, I have switched to the iPieta app.

### 1/5 — Catholic prayers

*2026-06-14, version 5.05*

I am sorry but I am extremely dis appointed in the new Mass form..! Please revert it to the previous form of Mass!
🥵🥵🥵

### 1/5 — Readings/No Notes

*2026-06-05, version 5.05*

Under no notes, the prayers are mostly gone after the homily. The old, old version had them. The readings since Lenten, except for the Gospel are not from the Old Testament which are the reading my church uses us the Responsorial Psalm is also different from your missal. Why is this?

### 1/5 — Changes

*2026-06-02, version 5.05*

Why do you keep changing the layout ,text and font ? You have no respect for the user. No respect for stability. We need structure and consistency. We depend the unchanging word of God. When it is presented differently, the experience is a distraction. Did you change it for yourself or the readers?

### 1/5 — After Update, the Eucharistic Prayers Aren’t Available

*2026-05-17*

Prior to the updates in the last month, each Sunday mass order provided the most likely Eucharistic Prayer to be used for the mass, but the other three were still available. After the updates, only the most likely Eucharistic Prayer is provided along with the following note, “Below is the Eucharistic Prayer typically said for this Mass, however, the Priest has the option to chose another.” This makes the missal much less useful, since I purchased app so that I had all four Eucharistic Prayers available. That is no longer the case, so the app is largely useless to me. It’s very disappointing that the “update” has ruined the app.

### 1/5 — iMissal v5.1 (6) bugs

*2026-04-25, version 5.01*

Recent update broke things, I contacted the developers several times by e-mail and FB I never got an answer; very frustrating being totally ignored.

Since iMissal v5.1 (6) in both iOS 18.7.7 and 26.4.x I have noticed:

1) The option "Full version (No Notes)" stopped displaying the section “Eucharist Prayer x”. While the "Full version (with Notes)" displays it correctly the "Full version (No Notes)" is more useful for those following mass without having the notes cluttering the whole text. The now missing "Eucharist Prayer x" in the “No notes” option” is very noticeable.

2) Both, "Full version (No Notes)" and "Full version (With Notes)"stopped letting the user switch between the different "Eucharist Prayer I, II, III, IV".
Previous version allowed this by sweeping top down to choose the Eucharist Prayer when needing a number different than the default.
This is very useful as most priests sometimes depart from the default.

3) now the updated app removes/hides the Status Bar blocking valuable information from the phone.

Sad to see a sloppy update just to make the app work on iOS 26 even when breaking functionality.

### 1/5 — When did Artificial Intelligence Read Gods Word?

*2026-04-08, version 5.01*

Very disappointed that the Daughters of St Paul are using AI to share God’s Word with the world taking away the personal nature of human Lay Ministers with a joy of individuality. We pray iMissal Catholic hears this loud and clear. Stay human. Tom Cruz in Florida and believer of the Real Presence. Amen.

### 1/5 — Prayers will not open

*2026-03-25, version 5.0*

The new update prevented me from opening this portion of the app on my IPAD. It does works on my IPHONE but more difficult to read on a smaller screen. Very disappointed in the update’s limitation. I use the prayer portion of the app every day but now switching between devices is an unwelcome change. Is there a way to fix this issue? Not an enhancement in my opinion.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 10+ year user

*2026-08-03, version 5.07*

I truly love this app and the ability to read the readings not only for any Sunday, but also every day of the week. I still use this app every week after all of these years.

### 5/5 — Sunday Prface

*2026-07-12, version 5.06*

I love this app however after the update the Sunday Preface collapses when clicking on the options. Is it possible for the Sunday Preface not to collapse so it is easier to follow the mass?

### 5/5 — Best App For Being Fully Engaged

*2026-06-02, version 5.05*

This app has all of the readings and prayers that you can fully engage in mass from beginning to the final prayer.

### 5/5 — iMissal

*2026-06-01, version 5.05*

Great app! It had gotten out of date and non-– functional, but the recent (June 2026) update fixed those issues and has a much more functional and useable interface. I would be happy to pay for ongoing updates, as this is the most useful missal app for the iPhone.

### 5/5 — Thank you for the Update!

*2026-03-28, version 5.0*

With great appreciation I had used iMissal for years, but became disenchanted due to lack of maintenance and updates. I thought the project was abandoned. It used to be the best by far, especially when out of town and no internet connection. My confidence is restored. This update is fantastic! Thank you.

### 5/5 — Still great after 10+ years

*2026-03-25, version 5.0*

This has been my go-to app for daily Mass readings for over 10 years. I love that it works offline enabling me to read and pray without ever worrying about being connected to the internet. I’m writing a review after all this time because I was delighted to see that the developers updated the app for the first time in five years. The update provides a nice modern polish without losing any of the features that has made it great. Thank you for continuing to develop the app after all these years! It has truly been an indispensable tool in my ongoing prayer life and faith journey.

### 5/5 — Well done

*2026-02-27, version 4.06*

Very efficient and easy to use. A great resource for daily prayers

### 5/5 — Such a blessing

*2026-02-27, version 4.06*

Thank you for such a valuable resource. I highly recommend this app and the add ons.

### 5/5 — Blessed App

*2026-02-21, version 4.06*

We are truly blessed to have this. It guides us each day, helping us lift our prayers and offer our gratitude to God. It gathers everything in one sacred place, allowing us to focus our hearts and mark each day with thanksgiving. Thank you.

### 5/5 — This s my guide

*2026-01-05, version 4.06*

I find iMissal is my daily guide from morning, through the day and into the evening. I highly recommend it.
