The AR is slow to load. When viewing the Ark of the Covenant I feel as if there should have been more details add and more free movement of the camera **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. This will be an ongoing process and will get more detailed and immersive over time. ### 1/5 — High expectations not met *2020-08-29* Update 1: While I appreciate that a mobile AR/VR experience will not rise to the same level of quality as a desktop based VR system, the mobile experience of static models and images still falls far short of what mobile AR/VR is capable of. Try Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs for example. This is a mobile AR experience that far outstrips what Immersive Bible does. It features interactive characters and real-time physics simulation. I’m not even asking for physics, just scripted interactions! The requirement a full desktop VR system for any kind of interaction is full of issues. First of all I don’t have the extra money to burn on such a system. I also don’t have the space. Such a system would be difficult to bring to Bible study or to a church summer camp. It’s also difficult to casually show someone if it comes up randomly in discussion. Finally, if I did have the money and space to dedicate to a VR system, I wouldn’t be buying the system tied to Facebook, there’s too many privacy concerns there. Original Post: When I saw this project on Kickstarter, I had gotten the idea that they were going to make history come alive with characters moving and acting in a VR and AR space. Unfortunately that is not the case. What the VR and AR content instead is little more than static marble statues. When I think of “immersive history” I expect to be able to feel like I have stepped out of a time machine and into the past. I expect to be able to see the lives of people and historical events playing out. I even expect to be able to interact with objects and have conversations (yes, perhaps pre-scripted) with people. I expect to see history come alive before my eyes. The Oculus animated short “Henry” is and example of the absolute minimum of what I expect. I don’t expect static objects and marble statues. I don’t expect an app that feels like a web app and I don’t expect to be kicked out to Safari for the AR experiences. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We are actually working on new versions of the mobile VR experiences right now and will be updating them in the app soon. This will be an ongoing process. Unfortunately, current mobile devices are not able to handle the same level of experience that can be had in an Oculus type device. As mobile devices become more capable, our mobile VR and AR experiences will become more immersive. Our full VR Immersive Bible experience is built for the Oculus Rift and does allow the kind of immersive VR experience that you are talking about. Some other additions that will soon be added to the app include full mobile 3D explorations of Moses Tabernacle, Second Temple (Herod's Temple), and First Temple (Solomon's Temple). ### 2/5 — Not meeting expectations *2020-03-31* Most of the VR experiences do not work, and the ones that do are just 360 images. I assumed VR/AR would be the focus of the app given the name and Kickstarter campaign, so I'm a little disappointed. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. Is there a way to upgrade to get rid of the ads? SOMEONE needs to do more Bible/Gospel VR developments. You could RULE the industry right now and NO ONE is taking advantage of it! I taught about Christmas and the nativity scene as the five year olds colored. Ten year olds jumped up and circled around the augmented reality items. 12-14 year old loved the group game.
