Otherwise one of the best ### 2/5 — Use to be good *2022-11-26, version 6.1.1* I’m a YouTuber animator and this app worked wonders for about 2 years but recently it’s been crashing all the time, I couldn’t export any footage because every time I would hit my movies it would crazy, and now the newest update, the picture quality looks bad no matter what I select because the camera is weirdly zoomed in and it also makes it way more sensitive to slight movements so now no matter how careful I am, every video comes out shaky and unprofessional looking. And weirdly fuzzy thanks to the weird zoom ### 2/5 — Onion Skin Not Working Properly *2022-04-02, version 6.0.1* I’ve used this app for 4 years and it’s worked perfectly and flawlessly. However in the last few weeks the onion skin feature (translucent image of the previous frame), now appears incorrectly distorted, making it impossible to accurately line up the next frame. Also, the trigger time from using iMotion remote on another phone, used to be immediate, but now takes 5+ seconds to actually trigger, massively slowing down workflow. Using an iPhone 13 Pro Max, fully updated. It is the best app ever for doing stop motion. I haven’t found any other app that has the ability to lock the focus and ISO while still capturing excellent quality pictures. However, the way the app functions drains my battery at the rate of 1 picture to 1 battery percent. So I am forced to keep it plugged in to an outlet. While this is unfortunate it is not so bad. However with the constant charging and use of the app, my phone overheats in the middle of filming and it interrupts my projects. This app also does not have the ability to zoom. So I am forced to bring my phone closer to my work in order to get close up shots. If the battery situation was better and the zoom was added my review would be five stars. I use the IPhone 7 for my filming so maybe the problem is my phone. I have spent years looking for a good app and this one has come the closest. ### 4/5 — Works Well With Minor Issues *2019-03-11, version 5.0.1* I’ve been using this app for several years and really enjoy it for small projects when I don’t have my professional camera equipment with me. I would however like to see a zoom feature with the camera. If it has this option, I cant find it. Also, I wish we could set the exposure manually. During light changes the exposure changes with it and it would be nice to keep it constant so we can see the changes in our finished time lapse. On both I had the same experience - when I tried to import photos (which is the way I’d need to make my video), it let me select and import them, and then all of the photos appeared as a black screen. It has not been upgraded since iOS 12 and does not have access to the camera roll. Don’t waste your money buying the paid version!!! ### 1/5 — Not worth the money... *2018-05-06, version 5.0* I was using the free version for a few weeks, and decided to buy the pro version I order to import more photos and have unlimited frames. After paying and downloading the pro app, I can only import 100 photos. I’ve emailed customer support for help and have yet received a reply back. Look elsewhere for time lapse apps. This app is absolutely my favorite animation app for spontaneous stop motion animations. I’ve been using it for many years and still enjoy it. The UI and features hit a nice sweet spot for me. The handful of features give just the main ones that I need. Side note: I see some old reviews that are negative, but they almost look fake to me... I’ve never had any of the problems that some of those people mentioned. ### 5/5 — Great App *2019-09-23, version 5.0.1* Can you expand the limit of importing 100 photos? I bought the Pro version thinking that “Unlimited movie length.” Meant that the 100 photo limit of the free version would be gone. I didn’t want a low-quality GIF. I didn’t want a slow and tedious sideshow with captions, transitions and effects in a 16:9 format. I just wanted a high-quality, 1:1 video! It took me 4 hours, scouring Google and trying all kinds of apps. I was about to give up. How could something so simple, in theory, be impossible?! But lo, here it is: the exact app I needed. High quality, gorgeous interface, fast and easy. I can take all my 1080p images and create a perfect 1080p video. Seamless. Easy!! And render time was so very fast. Thank you so much for this app. For anyone who wants to utilize the new video profile picture feature on Facebook, this app is a MUST! The only way I have found to create your own video form high-res images. No ugly GIF. No compromises. SOOO happy.
