## What is Imposteur?

Someone at this table is lying. Your job is to find them.

Imposteur turns a single iPhone into a complete party game for 3 to 12 players. Everyone secretly checks their card: their role and, depending on the mode, a word or just a category. Impostors improvise to blend in — everyone else hunts them down, votes, and counts their points.

TRY IT FREE

Five complete rounds are on the house, with all the content. After that, a single purchase unlocks the game forever: no subscription, no packs, future updates included.

ONE LANGUAGE PER PLAYER

Each player picks French, German, English, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese. Their cards and questions appear only in their language; shared screens follow the table's language. Grandma plays in French, your brother-in-law in Portuguese — on the same phone.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY

• Free clues: everyone gives one word, then the table debates.
• Guided questions: everyone answers a question written for the exact word in play — the impostor can always answer, it's the inconsistency that gives them away.
• 262 hand-crafted word duels across 20 categories
• 4,902 questions available in all six languages

VOTES THAT COUNT

• Open voting or private entry, name-by-name podium reveal
• Ties settled by a runoff, successive eliminations
• A crystal-clear scoring system: aim true, stay unsuspected, win
• Point details explained after every round
• Session leaderboard available at any time

A REAL GAME NIGHT, NOT ANOTHER SCREEN

• 3 to 12 players on a single phone
• Up to 5 impostors — accomplices if they choose to know each other
• Close-word, blind or surprise mode
• Three content levels, from kids to adults
• Optional timers that never act on their own
• Fully offline — no accounts, no ads, no tracking

Civilians win by unmasking every impostor. But the last impostor out can still flip the game by guessing their word.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-11-03

Your opinion matters: after a few games, Imposteur will ask you once to rate it on the App Store. Every rating helps other groups discover the game.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-24

Imposteur is ready for iPhone Duo.
• On the large display, instructions and gameplay sit on either side of the hinge.
• Open the phone slightly like a book to read your card out of sight, then close it to pass it on.
• In private voting, the phone goes around closed: open it to vote, close it to seal your ballot.
• Open it to count the votes and reveal the accused player’s role to the whole table.
• The secret card also adapts to shorter screens so it always stays fully readable.
