You need pretend coins to access each lesson. They give you enough coins to begin, but then you earn them, mainly by listening to ads, but pretty soon I was spending more time finding ads to listen to, and then listening to them, then actually listening to Italian. In theory you can subscribe, but I didn’t see how that could be done. After completing seven lessons I looked for something better.
